Hey jim ...i read your book limitless it really helpful for me And also recommended this wonderful book to my friends Thank you for making such wonderful book🙏🏻📖🇮🇳
The pomodoro technique also helps with procrastination. Don't think about for how long you have to studie. Go in to your studie session by thinking, ok.. let"s do one round of 25 minutes and then we"ll see how it goes. This worked for me! I use clockify as a google chrome extension, so I can also track for how long I am studying. Good luck!
I use Minimalist Pomodoro Timer. It's the best app out there. The paid version is also better because it gives clock shifting for AMOLED screens, so no scared of burn-ins.
I am going to do the Pomodoro technique--- which is studying for 25 minutes taking a break then proceeding to study for 25 minutes again. I hope that this works, information has been overwhelming lately. I will use this to improve my retention and focus, especially now that I'm a university student. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Jim!
So gonna try this. I took a gap year and its been really hard to go back to study. My attention span has gone down and I often find myself doing other stuff when I'm supposed to be studying. I can't wait to try this. Feels like the light at the end of my tunnel.
Speaking from experience, repetition is your friend. Teach what you know, that will move information from short-term or mid-term memory to your long-term memory. Use flash cards frequently, whether you teach others or not. For memorization, flash cards are king. Focus on what you don’t know or understand.
This actually works. I was able to finish reviewing my 5 books in accounting major subject for my qualifying exam last year and i passed the exam. Lately, I'm being overwhelmed by the information i need to digest but this video suddenly pops out then it made me realize that i should start doing the pomodoro technique again. Thank you
Great video Jim! I will definitely try out these techniques! (I have my re-sit for a mathematics exam in a couple of weeks, and really wish to have a good grade!!)
I'm going to try this pomodoro technique for my current classes. Headed for nursing school this fall and I have so much information to remember. I feel this will help a lot.
For me when I'm doing a hard subject like Math - I tell myself to do 25 minutes and I feel much better. Yes I won't do many questions but I never did when I was doing 1 hour sessions. I love it becomes it helps me feel less overwhelmed.
Thanks Jin Kwik, I have decided that I shall use this technique to the best of my ability and get the best memory retention as possible. Never going to give up this time.
Thank you for sharing, this is very helpful tips for me as a mom of 2, since I hardly focus on my study. Always forgot after I done reading and I have a lot of notes, here and there 😅
Primacy is kind of like when we eat a piece of chocolate or something tasty we tend to savor the first bite the most. and recency is like how we savor the final bite the most. Maybe this comparison is getting too convoluted at this point, but when we take food home (take brain breaks), we let our stomach's empty (our brains recover) so we can have another first and last bite all over again. Coming up with this comparison has helped me "create," and even expanding on my thoughts in the comments here I hope will help me retain the information in the vid even better. Though I also took physical notes, I have some difficulties with wrist pain. I'm very excited to watch more.
I used to think studying long hours at once makes be a better student until I learned about the brain…thank you master. I will practice the POMODORA METHOD Now
what is an optimal brain break though? what activity would best reset your brain? another study? something fun or consuming media? playing an instrument?
First of all I have to say I tested this technic and it really works for me because I'm engaging with learn second language and since I started to learning by your recommend I learn faster than always and grasp all the information as well as l wanted always . also my process going well .I think this is great way to study and have a enjoyable Time by learning 😍thank you so much
I somehow always studied with the intent to teach. I would imagine myself trying to teach my sister about something pretty technical that I studied the day before while she has absolutely no prior knowledge on the field. I tend to unconsciously create conversations in my head all the time since I was a kid. What's interesting is that I've seen such quote before: "If you can't teach a subject to a kid, it means you haven't mastered it."
Ok. I'm going to use pomodoro technique now and to study smarter. This will change my whole school life and my entire life in general, I just know it. I will become the person that myself right now yearns to become, a dignified and a virtuous man. Yes. Wish me luck.
Hi, having been recently diagnosed with MS I often experience fatigue and brain fog. I believe applying the 25 minute technique will truly benefit in information retention and activating my brain more efficiently. I am starting today.
Yes I will be Utilizing the Pomodoro for Technique I have a Big State Licensing Exam coming up so I need to stay sharp. Thanks for the Tips setting my Timer Now.

Im using 4x 30 min intervals for working/studying. 25 might be to short since often it takes a few min for me to get into the flow state, so the last minutes are often the most productive for me
@@marielniegos5054 Maximum break is 5 minutes. Also it is crucial to have a little break routine in that time window too. It's really easy to "just sit down shortly" on the couch to pet your dog, watch a little TV with your sister, talk about the weather... and as soon as you know it +10 minutes have been spent and your Pomodoro Work flow destroyed. So my break routine is this: Note which interval you're on on a piece of paper, go to the corridor and walk 5 times from the start of the corridor to the end of it and back, in my apartment the corridor length is about 12 meters, so it takes about 4 minutes to walk that distance 10 times. It gets your blood flow going again after the prolonged sitting and you get a clear head, anxiety goes down a lot and you actually use the time to organize your next actions too. But you shouldn't spend each break differently, only when using a timer maybe
Oh, now i understand why i am not able to accumulate a lot of information when i stud ! Thank you very much for this video and right now, i will going to apply the Pomodoro techniques to perform well !🧠🧠🧠
I am in matric and m really getting anxious day by day I feel like nothing is going right and think because i don't have a good strategy when1 it comes to studying I think this kinda helped me
How much time do you have to give for a break, before continue. What are the best things to do when you do take a break for the brain get ready for the next run?
That’s exactly what I thought! I’d say: Move, get away from your study area and do something you enjoy - for about 10 to 15 minutes - like a reward for having been so foccused. But then, go back for another 25’

Don‘t overthink it, study as long as you feel focused. For many people 25 is to short because once they are in flow the 25 is already over…
