They should try this in the appalacians, plenty of updrafts,( dangerous wind sheer though too), and Ive seen guys stay up for hours, all over the hometown, going certain places where updrafts usually were on warm days to regain elevation, from spot to spot all over the county. Awesome, just awesome. Btw, u can get a tow here too, in case u dont like the platform up on the mountain, but theres usually an updraft up there u can use to circle up high,( seen em do it a hundred times), stay free guys

Hang gliding is the most awesome thing in the world that u can do in a non-motorized machine, ive always wanted to have a chance to do it, theres a spot where I grew up that they launched from and flew over my hometown, and I wanted to fly worse than anything else, Im gonna do it someday

When you got high clouds, the sun can't shine through creating more thermals to get higher with. I think that's what he meant.
