Out of fear of Mari getting arrested for murder even though she killed Sunny by accident they took Sunny's dead body and just buried him in her backyard and lie to everyone that Sunny ran away and got lost and so Aubrey, Basil and Kel put up missing person posters all over the town but the search was called off which cases Basil to have a big meltdown and takes all his anger on Mari and blames her and her perfectionism and always putting pressure on Sunny for the reason why Sunny ran away without knowing the truth until years later.
@@miffu1 also another idea I have is that Aubrey had feelings for Sunny and was planning on confessing on them to Sunny on the night of the recital but Mari ended up killing him.
