This is such an incredible stunt sequence that the coordinator pulled off so convincingly for Logan. To make it work they had some sort of wire rigging to pull the actors back to capture the whole resisting sequence.

That wasn't how it was done at all. Hugh Jackman simply acted like it was hard to move with everyone else standing as still as they could and they just shook the camera while filming, stabilized the footage in post and added some kind of rippling blur effect to simulate the intensity of Xavier's powers.
*Film Riot* did a video on this shortly after the movie had come out.
