This is incredibly validating. Jealousy is an aspect of BPD that is very intense for me and I’ve been so ashamed to admit it. I just finished DBT in January, which has been tremendously helpful, but it’s still an emotion I struggle to understand and to accept...

I know so many BPD people who have jealousy and envy. I never understood why because these people are usually awesome and have little reason to be envious of anyone else! But I guess to them, they don't see how awesome they are. It's heartbreaking.

I can relate, I'm bpd and I sometimes experience extreme jealousy and hatred of other females and I'm not proud of it I feel like a terrible person. I hate the way I look I am terribly self conscious and feel like the ugliest female alive and yet I don't see ugliness in anyone else everyone has attractive aesthetuc qualities and I envy them. I am not by any means a shallow person I see more in a person than their physical appearance but a lot of the time I do find myself getting depressed about my looks and pushing people away (like my on/off partner). My jealousy is ruining my relationship, I constantly accuse my partner of wanting better looking women and won't accept any compliments from him and it's going around in circles. I just refuse to accept that he wants me because I am worthless.

Nicole Macca literally how i feel. I also accuse my partner of wanting to cheat on me because i can’t see someone wanting to be with me. I also get jealous when we’re around other women even if they’re the girlfriend of his friend. I think he compares me to them and wishes i was more like them.

Michi, the one thing about those of us who have BPD, is our incredible self-awareness. You have articulated, perfectly, all that I experience. I was diagnosed at 26, but only got the real help I need at age 58, when I got into the BPD program at CAMH, in Toronto, to learn DBT. At 69, I still struggle with everything you talk about in this video. Life has ben a tremendous struggle, but I still chase my dreams and, even, catch them! DBT, when learned at a younger age, can be very successful. For older people, it's more difficult to change. I am much better, though, thanks to DBT. I have great hope for you, Michi, that you will be helped by DBT. You are always going to be a creative, thinking out of the box person, which is great!!! You can and will achieve things most people can only dream about. Shine on! BTW, I have a podcast. If you would like to be my guest, to talk about life, the universe and everything, you are welcome!!! I know people would enjoy hearing your take on things.

This really hits home for me. I've struggled with this as long as I can remember. It's always worse when it comes to my FP. I have found myself questioning who he's talking to, why it's not me and want him all to myself. It is alot better now but it took just over a year to really learn and let go of those jealous thoughts, in doing so it has definitely released the stress I felt around it. I do still get majorly jealous from time to time of a mutual friend that lives near him and can physically see him, hug him and really be with him, I live on the other side of the world so can't do what she can. Having said that I am starting to be able to get a hold of that one and hopefully soon I can bury it.
As always it's a great video xxx

I feel this way with my ex. I did things to push him away and eventually he left because I drained him. Then since I cannot be alone, I starting having unsafe sex, smoking bud/cigs non stop, getting drunk and found a new favorite person to deal with my pain. Then on his social media which I stalk daily, multiple times a day, I see he has a new girlfriend, I saw completely red. I became obsessed with checking his page every 1 hour just to torture myself saying “no one will ever love me because I have this, this new girlfriend has everything I don’t, I was too ugly in the first place” etc, it’s exhausting. I’m tired of obsessing over one thing. I am now in a relationship with someone new, I love him and he understands me, but I still have jealously when it comes to my ex and I feel like I’m abandoned by both. Idk if this makes sense but it’s making me crazy.

Being jealous of other women , & people, my ex bf , all my partners all said they broke up w/ me cause I’m insecure & crazy , during my pregnancy, I stalked my baby dad . Was a total nut ball , the constant pushing and pulling & then cutting people off like cold Turkey, the persons either evil or good . But my favorite “ people “ I tend to idolize, & social media isn’t really good for me as a BPD .

Your hair and makeup are soooo pretty! I love how well you explain things. I've always had jealousy issues a lot for so many reasons, and a lot stems from being disabled and feeling like I don't compare to the able-bodied (I've literally had certain guys tell me I couldn't expect to be treated on the same level as an able-bodied girl); and just feel really out of place. Plus, I'm sure you've seen for yourself some of the hate I get from being different with that, and I feel like that bullying aspect, and just dealing with so much cruelness from people, over the years is what honestly makes me very misanthropic a lot, as bad as that sounds.
It's really so weird, because some have said I'm pretty or cute or whatnot; and yet, I've received some vicious comments about my appearance specifically (or my disability, basically), and it's just pretty sick, really. It shows me what kind of world we live in. It just makes me really distrustful and whatnot. Then, even when people do compliment me, it makes me wonder if they really mean it or just feel sorry for me with my situation.
Honestly, I know BPD, and depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc are mental illnesses, but really.... with how the world is, can you really blame people for getting sick of it and getting tired of watching childish, toxic behavior from so many people? Because I just feel like in so many cases, it's valid. Personally, I just get tired of the world being so superficial, and judgmental, on some much, including with mental illness.
Sorry, I just felt like I needed to rant. Lately has just been shitty a lot for me. I would go back to the hospital, but a few years ago, that didn't work out so well. They kept screwing up my meds (and wouldn't believe me or listen to me about it) and took forever just to even try to figure out a vehicle to transport my wheelchair, and by the time they were doing that, I just worked on trying to get the hell out of there from having such a terrible experience with it.

    • @sweetluvgurl
      @sweetluvgurl 6 лет назад +1

And what you said described so much of how I feel, that it seems like for other people, it's just a lot easier. They don't deal with my health problems or just a lot of what I do. Life is easier for a lot of other people. They're up walking and don't have the weakness and breathing aspect. Then, it always affected my social life, too, and watching everyone get to do what they wanted a lot easier, and it's just bullshit imo. I'm not sure why different situations would happen to anyone, and not just mine, but others, too. It just seems shitty. That's why I'm not a religious person. I can't believe in a god or anything when I see how things are in life.

Michi Mavros Awww, thank you. That means a lot. 💕
I guess that's the main thing is still trying to hang on to hope, somehow, and trying to move forward, even if everything is stacked against you with a lot. Sometimes, I feel like all we may get is this life. So, might as well try to hang on and try to make it better, but yeah, it does get trying in different situations.
I really hope you're doing better with different things. I'm looking forward to your future posts about your experiences with therapy and whatnot. I'm about to start back on that, as well, myself.

It's so hard being short sometimes (I'm a guy 5 foot 7). Some people actually think that just because you're a certain height, you're predispositioned to be more attracted to things of comparable stature. I especially get it a lot from women. I find larger, more wolf like dogs more attractive because usually, that's just what guys like. Women expect me to be more into pugs and French bulldogs because that's what I should be into according to my height. If I say I like Rams more than priuses, it's because I have a napoleon complex apparently. I've always been attracted to athletic bodies because I've always loved sports. If I show a lot of interest in the 6 foot 2 tennis players and volleyball players, women want to criminalize me for not being interested in the 4 foot eleven gymnasts or equestrians as if I'm betraying the people who I'm "supposed" to be with. Everything is always an inferiority complex with people like us according to others. For me it's not exactly that, it's more internal. I don't care that the guy next to me is taller. I'm only upset that I'm not as tall. Height sucks because it's something you have no control over and people treat you as if you do. I call it the I didn't get what I wanted for Christmas complex. You tell Santa what you want, you wait all year. And you get some random crap you never asked for and people perceive that "gift" as something you were actually interested in.

I didnt respond well to that and would just try to ignore that behavior. Eventually she told me that i obviously didnt love her enough because i wasnt posessive.
It seems that BPD women love to make their partners jealous as a test.

ah nice makes sense. i'm glad your sharing your emotional experiences rather than hiding them like traditional scorps. iv'e found that astrology and looking through my natal chart really helped to validate many parts of my identity. I have a lot of fun going oh yea that makes sense or no that makes no sense at all. I really recommend going through it if you haven't already it's extremely fascinating. www.astro-seek.com/

Before I even watched this video let me tell you something, you think the world of a chick, take showers and brush your teeth everyday doing the world for a chick. Then she has the nerve to introduce you to her loser new bf who doesn't lift a finger for them, you try to keep the friendship going, and these same chicks have the nerve to rub it in your face how they found the love of their life, and how they're happy to have a friend just like you that listens. You always look upset I just wish you can open up and tell me what's troubling you? Yeah maybe it's not borderline. Maybe these people around us truly are nuts! Man I need to start1 of these channels. This is a good topic!

I'm not sticking around if they're screwing around on me. I'm not "sharing" that. That's a little too "tinder" for me. Sorry, its not hip, its disgusting. Especially if they are gonna flaunt them in front you. Not cool.
