When & when NOT to use “MAKE” in English

- Some verbs are used in different contexts in English. For example, the verb “make” can be used in many contexts, such as when you create something, when you choose something or come to a decision, and even when you kiss someone! With all these usages, it may be confusing for you to understand when and when not to use the verb “make”. In this lesson, I will teach you exactly when you can and cannot use the verb “make”, so that you get it right every time. After watching, solidify your knowledge by doing the quiz at www.engvid.com... Yes, solidify!

"Fazer" is pronounced like "father" (american accent) with a "z" sound. The "zer" is the stressed syllable (the 'r' sound may change)
Haters, I'm just writing a curiosity
I laughed out loud at the “I want to do sex” part 😂
"Em português: Feizar" kkkkkkk
Vou feizar alguma coisa
Pela pronúncia ela tentou ler em inglês a palavra fazer hahaha
😂😂😂
Tive q voltar o video kkkk
The word "make" in English is "fazer" in Portuguese.

In Spanish "hacer"

Really, you're my favorite prof. I love your teaching style 💕💕
The best teacher and person as well - EVER :) So much fun with you, Ronnie :)
Kkkkk ...adoro suas aulas✔👌👏👏👏It's very very very nice🌹
It's funny, though, that in English there are some expressions with "to do" which are uncommon in Portuguese, my native language, like, "to do the dishes" (lavar a louça), "to do the laundry" (lavar a roupa), "to do the ironing" (passar a roupa), "to do the cooking" (cozinhar), etc., when it comes to household chores, for example. It implies you're in charge of doing that part of the work. You make food, but you do the cooking... lol. Anyway, I love the English language.
Rouni, I love you from Colombia, thank you very much. You are good teacher.
In spanish we say
Take a choice
Take a decision
Commit a mistake
Make a friend.
Some of those are similar.
Hi.. Am from India your way of teaching is Owesome thanks mam
Thank you, my favorite teacher, I adore you.
Thanks. I love your classes.

Could you make a 'yet' vs 'already' video? I hear people saying 'yet' when I feel it should be 'already'.
Like 'are we there yet?'. I feel like saying 'already'.
Already is only for affermative phrases
And yet is only for questions and negative answers. Are we there yet? Yes we are already there. Or no we aren't there yet.
We have already finished the work. We already finished the work.
We have not finished the work yet. We did not finish the work yet.
Other examples: He may win yet. Is it twelve o’clock already? The food is already on the table.
‘Is dinner ready?’ ‘No, not yet.’
The British use 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 and 𝐲𝐞𝐭 with the present perfect tense while Americans use them both in the present perfect and in the simple past.
British : We have 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 eaten our lunch.
American : We have 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 eaten our lunch. or We 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 ate our lunch.
British : 'What time is he leaving?' 'He has already left.'
American : 'What time is he leaving?' 'He has already left' or 'He already left.'
British : Have you finished your work yet?
American : Have you finished your work yet or Did you finish your work yet?
British : He has not returned yet.
American : He has not returned 𝐲𝐞𝐭. He did not return 𝐲𝐞𝐭.
Is it seven o’clock 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲? (The speaker didn’t expect it to be so late.)
Is it seven o’clock 𝐲𝐞𝐭? (The speaker thinks that probably it’s almost seven o’clock.)
@@andrea_9618
Is it 5 o'clock 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲? Have you eaten all that food 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲?
Are you back 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 ('I' am surprised that 'you' have returned so soon.)
Have you booked a flight 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲? (greater emphasis or to show greater surprise.)
Is it seven o’clock 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲? (The speaker didn’t expect it to be so late.)
Is it seven o’clock 𝐲𝐞𝐭? (The speaker thinks that probably it’s almost seven o’clock.)
Thanks for the class! Let me do my bed now... ooops... hahahaha...

Adoro o estilo da Ronnie, tão divertida. Adorei essa aula. Essa coisa da conotação sexual do 'Do' é tipo a nossa com o verbo 'Dar'.

Thank you
I like Ronnie so much ,she's funny ,humorous style made English learning not boring anymore!
*You say that we don't use "make" for sex, but it's used when you MAKE love, so it can be confusing for some people I guess.*
Ronnie please don't repeat (so many times) bad patterns of sentences with make or any other word, because I remember them.
Apart from that your lessons are perfect. Thank you
Great explanation! Using "do" vs "make" can be very confusing. Also, nice explanation about how "do" can imply you had sex, but you wouldn't say "do sex". English can be weird! 😂
Every breath you take, every move you make, every step you take, I'll be watching your videos, Ronnie.
like in Portuguese: "fezar" /fe.ˈza(ʁ)/
Almost there 👌🏻
You actually swapped the vowels 'e' and 'a' 😁
It'd be: "fazer" /fa.ˈze(ʁ)/
boyfriend / girlfriend - what about a situation when I know someone would be a great BF / GF for a person I know? Can I say "(s)he'd make a great B(G)F for ABC"? Or should I use "(s)he's a B(G)F material"?
8:04 imaginate uno que viene del español, puedo decir hacer amigos make friends pero no puedo decir make girlfriend, jejeje gracias por la confusion bienvenidos al curso de ingles- Con Ronnie.! jejeje ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
You are the best! I've learned more English watching your videos than going to an "Annoying English School"... Thanks for being so cool!!
It couldn't be more realistic: "You actually stand up in front of all those people [gasping] who are staring at you and you - Blah!"
Thanks for the vid, you are amazing!
Hahahaha you are very funny and great! Nice to watch you.
Ronnie girl, you’re not only pretty but funny. I love your attempt of speaking Portuguese. You are an excellent English teacher but please, do not become a Portuguese teacher. LOL. Cheers and hugs.
I don't have much money so I can't make a donation, but I 'd be glad to go down on you to express my gratitude; you explain so clearly and yet casually, I love it. I just hope it doesn't come off strange, which I guess it will 🤷♂️
Guys which one is the right
She is..........for dinner this evening
( Come , coming , came )
My girlfriend is not convinced. This was a question on today's exam and there was a lot of discussion about it☻
Amazing explanation.!!!
Terrific.
Lots kisses from Rio de Janeiro.
I really really love the way you teach English. .. it's so Amazing... all your videos are very informative... really appreciate your efforts. .. thank you 😊
in russian, when we were making something and this thing wasn't done or was done with more force resurses or time etc., we say "I'd been having sex with it... for a long time or engaging people's help or wasting some resourses.
Now I know how to say it shortier and correctly.
Thanks a lot, Ronnie!
My best regards!
Do my luggage (incorrect) Do your bed (incorrect) Filthy Frank did his lunchbox (correct)

Volviendo de hacer el test que tiene Ronnie en su página para solidify the knowlodges. I got 10 out of 10
Ronnie, when you talk about making the bed, this cleared up something that I was trying to explain to the class yesterday, because I just realised that the bed is not the piece of furniture that you arrange the sheets and covers on, but rather better defined as the arrangement of sheets and covers and pillows that you sleep in, whether you make this arrangement on a bedframe, or on the floor. What, btw, is the difference beteen lying on the bed, and being in bed?
Can we DO the subscribe button?!! 🤣🤣🤣 (Just kidding)
Thx
it's cute you talking FAZER . The correct pronunciation is very different, i'm no teacher, but google translator say it correctly. ;)
