Reminder for when you go back to the mountains for that 1 last fenris hair- you did NOT finish the right-hand passage of that Howling Cavern after killing the miniboss so you may be able to find the last hair you need in there without having to find a whole new cave. Mods that add QoL- Mass Farming and a Clock mod are the two obvious ones. Neither add new abilities, just save time/hassle. Gizmo is nice for upping your creativity options while building. (Doesnt add any build pieces, but lets you customize the angles at which you place pieces, in all 3 dimensions.) You already mentioned Plant Everything, and that actually has greater impact on gameplay than Gizmo, so if its ok Gizmo probably is also. Use Equipment In Water is a maybe, depending on how you view the gameplay effects of being able to, well, use your equipment in the water... :) Equipment and Quickslots is on the bubble since it effectively gives you 8 more inventory slots, including 3 which are hotkeyed.
Mass farming, Item drawers, crafty boxes, area repair (repairs more than one object) and workbench inventory repair are mods I really enjoy. I also really like veinmine cause I hate mining for extended periods of my game time. Nice episode btw!
The number one QOL mod right now I would say is extra inventory space. Unfortunately the backpack mods work in a clunky, continuously frustrating manner so I just arbitrarily add an extra row and a equipment row. Or one could add just the inventory row or two rows but not have one of them be an equipment row, all with AzuExtendedInventory. I would not use Extended Inventory and Quick Slots by Randy Knapp since the equipment row is stored separately and game/server changes can cause problems from time to time.
those mod I use just for comfort is Item stand all items, plant everything, eternal flame, no rain damage, Build anything so I don't need to use iron and still build as high as I want. EmoteWheel and equipment and quickslots. I use to have item drawers so you could see what was in them and how much, but I stopped using it because it kind broke my game. But I use the mods more for comfort as a builder and not play thru.
I’d like to hear what you two think are essential mods with a tutorial of deploying them on your PC. I like that mod you spoke about where it keeps touches lit for example. Nothing too crazy.
Install reinforced chests starting at top shelf. You can space shelves 1m apart and they will still fit. If you try to install starting from bottom, you will have to increase shelf spacing. One of my favorite mods is Automatic Fuel. As long as there are mats (in a nearby chest) to feed a factory, it will crank out the goods. Great combo is kilns and smelters - I stack them in a tower. Drop wood at the bottom and the kilns fire. The smelters grab the coal as it is produced. Add ore and the smelters fire as well.

What I usually do is chop wood at spawn with the Elder power. Then before you go back you easily change back to your preferred power.

QoL mods are fine. Torches stay lit, farming grids, craft from containers etc are fine.
