I've struggled with being able to do a damn side profiler for FOREVER and seeing the way you prepped it is literally the first time a method has ever made sense to me and I'm both infuriated that it took this long, and impressed.
His pencil prolly has a very even tip so it didn’t cut the paper and you can tell by the color it doesn’t have as much pressure as the line for the hair or ear or when he writes his name. Overall the paper seems pretty good quality too
I don’t actually think they’re pressing that hard. Based on the line tapers and variations I would assume they increased the volume for an ASMR audience. I love a good sketch asmr vid, but this sounded like how my 10 yo sounds when he draws bc he presses so hard.
The transformation your drawings make from basic shapes to a fully refined piece is enlightening. Thank you for sharing your process. Your drawings look great by the way .Keep it up!
One thing about your drawings that are so great is your guidelines are truly fundamenta, not too technical or too extreme. A lot of the time videos teaching guidelines let their own style seep into the fundamentals and it's taught as the norm. But your guidelines are so informative yet doesn't constrict.
Wow, it is very beautiful and minimalist at the same time! I am also fascinated by the level of precision it achieves in imitating human anatomy thanks to its reference lines! I loved!
I drew caricatures at Six Flags for years and there was always a rival between us pencil artists and the marker artists (at other parks). The pencil provides so much more depth. Great work.
same; I have severe motor and spatial dysgraphia that several years of specialist OTs have all considered hopeless. I need to use a compass and ruler for this sort of thing but then I just get stuck because I can’t even use those properly and then have no way to progress. idk how people who haven’t even been alive as long as I’ve been drawing can learn to do this stuff!
I bought every size the bookstore had of those mechanical pencils back in uni 10 years ago. They all still work great, I always liked them and for the price honestly not a bad mechanical pencil.
Always loved Pentel mechanical pencils, especially the vintage ones. I refused to use any other mechanical pencil and waited to get a pentel in my drafting classes. Thin narrow tip profile made using rulers and set squares with it a breeze.
Legit blown away, by how this short made me improve that kind of draw (I draw casually for 20 years, never get near that good proportionate result)(never tried hard too) You teach powerful tool in minutes, thanks a lot
Well done using guide lines. You could use even more for the nose and the mouth. The bottom of the nose is halfway down and the middle of the lips is half of the rest away down. Your pupils always line up with the top of your ears but you did do that already. The corner of the mouth always lines up with the pupils too. They will always match like that regardless of the angle. Whether it’s profile, headshot or In between
Hair has always been a bane of my existence.. Yet you do it so casually. I can just feel the hardwork and dedication radiating off of this work of art.
Practice makes you better Start off with basic drawings Copy them from the internet Then, when you are comfortable doing that, try drawing by yourself You’ll see how easy it feels
