The library is truly brilliant and the ocean view is stunningly gorgeous. Mr.Pei was a phenomenal architect with great vision.

Mr. Pei was a brilliant man, well versed, & above all, honorable.

But unfortunately a horrible architect who made ugly buildings. Too bad he did not choose a different profession.

The Library was originally supposed to be on the corner of Memorial Drive and Boylston Street near Harvard Square. Boylston in Cambridge is now JFK Street and the site now hosts the Kennedy School of Government.

Love this! I can't wait to get my drone in the air and snag some shots of Denver (and Colorado). Thanks for sharing. 😀

My first time seeing him . . . Louvre.

I've thought of a church. A pyramid would be in there also. ("seeing him" (interview) I was signing-off "Louvre" as reference my first knowledge of him) The church idea is from before "Da Vinci Code".

That was the 70s. Architects, like everyone else, live in their own time. They do what is considered spectacular in their own time. Time moves on and nearly everything from the past is torn down as ugly. If it remains, it becomes beautiful again to a future age.

@ravenel2 Beautiful historic old towns remain intact all over Europe. Architects in the 70s were purposely rejecting aesthetics to make a statement. Hence, the construction of so many ugly buildings.
