Thank you for this thoughtful and well-done video. We have people calling us to buy the Anniversary Model. We never sold them directly and are not aware of any more stores that have them. If you want to sell yours someday give us a call and we can send people your way. All the best, Jody
Hi Jody, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the info on the Anniversary mouthpiece. I am a fan of your products and use a DV Jazz on my soprano sax. Looking forward to review other products in the future. Regards
Both of them sound great...however I liked more the way that the DV sound on you. Obviously it depends on the sound that you have in mind versus the comfort and wich one helps you more to obtain what you want. You play so well! Killer sound.
Durga sounds better suited for old school r&b thick sound. The Jody has a more nasal sound which I think is better suited for smooth jazz. You sounded great on both.
You sound great on both mouthpieces. I favor what you played on The Jazz! Lovely harmonic sense. I am going to review several Bari pieces, one of which is Hs*, playing on my old Buescher, so we will see. Best Wishes, Richard
DV is bright but sweet like syrup.. It's radiant, like warm light. Reminds me of Christmas by the fire, everything's just right. The Durga is a little more textured, kinda like a cake. It's just a hint raspy or whispery. It's spooky and haunting. Kinda like Halloween. At first I liked the Theo more, but the more I listen it's the Jody hands down for me. There's something special about the tone that makes it simultaneously warm and bright. There's a tenderness in the sound. the Theo is close and a damn good piece, but the sound is a little plainer in my opinion. Just go between 1:31 and 4:17 and you hear it.
Las boquillas son algo muy individual. Te recomiendo si es posible ir a alguna tienda donde puedas tratar varias boquillas. Generalmente una Selmer de plastico serie S.
You are a credit to sax players! Keep going. As per my last commune, maybe Miami from away. No aspersions. Just have fun; as well as learn. Do you teach? You may contact me
Maybe if we both feel good about near future, we can communicate via email. I might be interested in getting some playing points! Best Regards, Richard; aka Naples Brother
Hi Danny, I ended up with the Durga. It sounds slightly darker than the Jody and fits the type of music I play. Nevertheless they're both great mouthpieces.
I am a clarinetist and getting my Bari stuff together. Like to commune! I we might be moving to Miami area. I have played in various music settings. Best Wishes, Richard I have communicated with you a while back; but have been busy with other things as well. Hope to connect!
Hi Richard, hope you're doing well. I do use theory as a guide to develop my language. It helps me makes sense of what I want to acomplish in this never ending harmonic journey.
We are moving to Miami. Are you interested in chatting with me on a musical exchange? Just a thought Would enjoy it! Like your presentation on Jody and Theo Wanne Pieces. Do you play gigs? Well maybe we’ll connect. Best Wishes, Richard
Great sax skills 💪🏾🙏🏽. But only thing next time let's see that it is the actual mouthpiece while your playing it for head and the mouthpiece is cut off your advertising the mouthpiece so we would like to see that lol 😆. But still your a killer saxophonist 💪🏾🙏🏽

Durga 👍🏿
Awesome, thank you!
durga for the win. jody who? lol. dont get too hung up on the dark and bright, quick adjustment on the mixer and you got dark or bright.
Hi from Naples!
Do you teach your approach to playing?
Richard
Hi Richard, hope you're doing well. I do use theory as a guide to develop my language. It helps me makes sense of what I want to acomplish in this never ending harmonic journey.
What are your thoughts about teaching in light of this health crisis?
Richard
Durda sorry for Jody espina
Hi can you tell me pls which one do you like best for you ? I find the Theo was much brighter than the Jody.
Hi Valley, the Durga works best for me. It feels comfortable and projects a warmer tone, at least for me. Its a constant work in progress.
How about Durga 4?
Hi, haven't tried that one yet. If you do, let me know how it goes.
We are moving to Miami. Are you interested in chatting with me on a musical exchange? Just a thought Would enjoy it!

Thanks, hope to have more soon!
Did you study with Gary Campbell?
Hello, yes I did. FIU. Miami. Regards
@@hornsmiami7268 I’m friends with Gary from the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Camps, used to teach with him, I’m also a Tenor Player.
@@davekana8388 That's so nice. What a small world. Gary is an amazing guy, educator and sax player.
Comparison
1:31
4:19
hear that sound reminds me of KENNY G playing the tenor or is he imitating it? garcias y salud
No.
I hear more *Boney James* in there - smooth, subtones, warmth with a shadow of brightness when needed in a musical fashion.
Thanks JSaxx. Youre right. Thanks for the feedback
Nice
The Durga is darker.
