    Look for the Giovanni versions of Artecs. I have the GVH-59 and the GVH-1, -59 is rowdier despite the -1 being hotter, both are alnico 5, GVH-3 is alnico 3 and has beautiful sparkle. My -59's are zebras, took the nickel silver covers of the -1's. 59 neck in an ashtray bridge Tele with handwound Nocaster-alike in the bridge, the -59 bridge in an HSS Strat shaped object with 2nd hand Mojotone 58 Quietcoils, -1's in a Tele shaped Super Strat with a floating trem. All 3 guitars are now almost too much for me, they sound great.
    All good stuff! The humbuckers do PRS style partial coil splits very well, they were just over $50US a set on average.
    Also got a set of Giovanni hot SSS noiseless stacks that are amazing, you need 500k pots and the right treble bleed to tame the low end, put them in a maple fingerboard Jet JS400, now my main SSS guitar. They're the ones with a full dummy coil, not the regular height stacks. Also around $55US.
    The Giovanni P90s are also incredible, dropped them in a Firefly LP, amazing pickups for $60ish.
    Look at Only Pedals in Canada, Guitar Madness in Florida, both online, the as-new 2nd hand ones I find searching Reverb.
    The best handwounds at a similar price I've found are Bootstraps, he's got 4 or 5 Tele sets, you could buy them all for the price a single Lollar or Fralin set.
    Good times!

    I have a set of Artec VH59 in my Greg Bennett TR1 Torino. I got it from Lazada PH for around $33 which is insanely affordable. It's a very versatile P. A. F set, you just need to do a little tweaking in the amp and pedals. It has killer mids and clarity even when distorted. It has a 70's Classic Rock vibe in it. You can do some Led Zepp, AC/DC, KISS, Scorpions, Gary moore and some Sabbath stuff with this Bad boy! P. S. You just need to tweak a little for some Sabbath stuff, but you need a higher output if you play something heavier. The riff raff and VH59 has similar sound. That being said I'll go with Artec anytime. The question is are you buying the sound or the name of a pickup?

      The Riff Raff was my favorite set. I just cant afford more of it so I did try a some affordable pickups to find which one can get close enough for my style of music. The artecs definitely fits the bill and price bracket making it an easy choice :)

    I think the Bare Knuckle has a very slight edge. The difference is negligible. Both sound incredible

      @@bikeman1x11 Nope. They're not. There's plenty of info on them out there. They're a solid UK company and make top shelf pickups.
      Regardless, the Artecs have a long running reputation for giving great value for money. I'm currently looking for one that will handle high gain nicely.

    Both sound very good. In some parts of the clip I preferred the bareknuckles in others like the mediim distortion I preferred the vh59. I want a pair for one of my LP guitars.

    Both have great qualities to them. I Prefer the cleaner sound of the the Bare Knuckles but then the Arctec for distortion tone. From here the sound is in your fingers!!

    Two differently designed pickups. Artec is a a take on 50's paf's while the riff raff is a take on gibson 70's t tops which have more treble and are punchier. If you want the BK sound here check out vineham's 6070 t top clone. Handwound and cheaper than even duncans. For the price the artec sounded pretty damn good here, but in the room is something different and I personally would never cheap out THAT much for something as important as pickups and be second guessing my signal. World class and industry standard pickups really aren't that expensive.

      @jc6721 5 месяцев назад +1

      Agree. I just learned about Vineham pickups a few weeks ago and am very interested in several of the especially the 6070s set, the Whiskey Burner set (because I love the tones from Alnico ii) and Also the HD as an alternative to a JB bridge pickup.

    • @stillpist
      @stillpist 5 месяцев назад

      Funny those are almost the exact 3 I want to try, except I'm more interested in the hotter whiskey sour. I've read a lot of forums and comments and everyone says they are some of the best pickups they have ever tried. And for the price you really can't go wrong. @@jc6721

    How is the feel. With the 8.5 DC do these have some push in output versus the resistance? How hard do you have to dig with playing technique? How many millivolts output are any of them?
