How can you not know that you're running an XX1 AXS groupset? Sweet bike, sweet paint job, thinking about maybe a blue marble effect custom job for my XC Chisel HT
@@blackandtan.0075faster I was kinda kidding, just since that's a top of the line set, on a top of the line frame. I may well be in the market for an S-Works hardtail frame further down the line (or possibly full sus, who knows), although I will probably go with a more conservative grey/green chameleon type colourway
@@SilverShamrock71 well let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you get that dream bike. I own several shops in Maryland I’m sure are I can find something for you.
This bike would be perfect if the rear brake cable did not go through the upper headset bearing. It's cool and aero for road bikes but it's useless and too much of a hassle on MTB bikes. But still, I will consider this bike whenever I get tired of my Mondraker Podium HT.
Great video man. I own one nice epic pro from 2022 and been thinking a lot about this one. Just one small question related to comfort. It is suitable for marathon as well considering you mention it as even faster than old epics? Thanks mate!
Nice review! I’m waiting on my 24 Trek Supercaliber 9.9 XO! The only change will be removing the RockShox dropper for a RSL seat post , saving 400ish grams. Both bikes are very similar! My buddy is getting the World Cup Pro! So we will be rippin it up in S.E. Michigan! 🤙🏻
Hey Donald, great video, appreciate your content. I am looking at a discounted 2023 Epic Pro. I hear your comments about the rear brain though. I will be using it mainly for fire roads, smooth gravel, and then some singletrack and flowy XC trails. The most technical stuff in my area is a few root gardens. The bike is at a great price but I’m just concerned about the brain. How do you recommend it for the kind of riding I describe? Thanks for your time.
Electronic shifting is good for e-bikes where one gear at a time is best, on acoustic I'd take XT cable any day, Shimano has better cassette gear ratio gear jumps on lower gears. SRAM's 52t to 42t jump sucks, especially on tech climbs.
Hey man, great content, I like the channel already. My question is compared to other mountain bikes, you’ve ridden and since you like technical stuff how do you think the geometry on that bike is for the tech riding? Do you feel like the handling is dialed? Is there a good balance between climbing descending and cornering?
Compared to the Epic that’s out at the time I answered this, It climbs better, it’s more raked out which makes it more stable. The WC has less rear travel but feels like it has more travel than the standard Epic. I like it more in the technical stuff then the standard Epic and think it’s faster then even the Epic Evo from point to point on a lightly tech trail but you will sacrifice comfort with the WC, all that speed doesn’t come for free.
I just can't get over that color-way. It's so good!
Beautiful MTB! Paint scheme is amazing, enjoy with health and prosperity!

Haha I know man, but to my defense I swap out and build tons of bikes but I should know what I’m riding.

Not only does it go through the bearing, but the cable starts to fray and looks like crap after a handful of rides.

The roval handle bar is specific for racing
Performance firsts, weight second and comfort falls nowhere on the list 😂
Beautiful bike!!!

I think that’s the perfect terrain for that if you’re not an aggressive rider and you’re not doing a lot of jumping, the brain will work 👍

I agree but you get used to the jumps with Sram
