I've heard the song about a couple of times now, I don't know whether it's inspired by a real-life story or a fictional one but the line "Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's runnin' for a touchdown" is such a bittersweet and poignant way of honoring the death of someone
Im pretty sure ik halsey enough that she wouldn't make that up. I'm sure she used his nickname..but mentioning his mother..thats Halsey's pure heart all the way
I was re-watching "Panic Attack" Live for the millionth time because I'm obsessed, and then suddenly I got the notification about this, and now I can't go back!
I can’t help but love this album more and more, the dedication and diligence put into the videos 100/10. I love how it takes me back. It’s just.. perfectly and effortlessly… Lyrically…. This album does a great job of telling a story… every aspect of this is just wow… lovely…
No genuinely. She doesn’t get enough recognition in the industry. Manic and IICHLIWP deserved Grammy noms at the very least. The Great Impersonator is another beautifully written and produced album and I hope the public recognizes her talent this time.
I listened to this whole album on the way home from Los Angeles to Pomona where I live. I cried many times on that ride. What a masterpiece you’ve created Ashley… it’s deep. Conveys emotions on ever level. And you can tell u put everything you were feeling through ur hardship into this album. For sure one of the best albums of the year. Thank you
THE CONFIDENT QUEEN YOU ARE. The way Halsey performs is so satisfying to see and her voice so beautiful to hear❤ This album could be one of her saddests' but its energy is insane. She's truly a gem and one of the most interesting and complete artists out there!
OH, MAN! This song was already amazing, but this performance really strips it back in the most elegant way! Perfectly capturing the Halsey that is inspired by Dolly.
LYRICS: Davey died in the summertime in a hot-boxed car With a seatbelt 'round his neck and a needle in his arm We would smoke out in the parking lot behind convenience shops I bought a couple of grams of weed off him, but so did all the cops Back then The kids from all the county, we would walk out in the heat Along the train tracks with our paper bags and gravel in our feet In our heads, we picked a husband from the hundred men we knew But I kissed a poster of a pop star and checked my breasts in case they grew There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown The crowd appears and his mother cheers, she's waving from the field And he's evergreen at seventeen for the last eleven years You know, I never felt like anyone, I was a paradox, ol' lie I didn't think that I was special, but I was too afraid to die Like the others from my high school, all those sad suburban ghosts Trapped in a cross next to a highway while the rest of us get old There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown The crowd appears and his mother cheers, she's waving from the field And he's evergreen at seventeen for the last eleven years The American dream means staying young forever In a picture in a pamphlet, getting yellow from the weather And years will pass since science class, and I might forget your name But when the crow's feet come, to kingdom come, you'll always look the same There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown The crowd appears and his mother cheers, and he's waving from the field He's evergreen at seventeen for the last eleven years Listen to my song "Sunday Trance" ruclips.net/video/CDjSzBN0688/видео.html

Her voice is so unbelievably beautiful and powerful, Halsey never disappoints us. New album is amazing
I saw some hater comment on one of the other videos that she needs a vocal coach, I think they need a hearing test lol

LYRICS:
Davey died in the summertime in a hot-boxed car
With a seatbelt 'round his neck and a needle in his arm
We would smoke out in the parking lot behind convenience shops
I bought a couple of grams of weed off him, but so did all the cops
Back then
The kids from all the county, we would walk out in the heat
Along the train tracks with our paper bags and gravel in our feet
In our heads, we picked a husband from the hundred men we knew
But I kissed a poster of a pop star and checked my breasts in case they grew
There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown
Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown
The crowd appears and his mother cheers, she's waving from the field
And he's evergreen at seventeen for the last eleven years
You know, I never felt like anyone, I was a paradox, ol' lie
I didn't think that I was special, but I was too afraid to die
Like the others from my high school, all those sad suburban ghosts
Trapped in a cross next to a highway while the rest of us get old
There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown
Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown
The crowd appears and his mother cheers, she's waving from the field
And he's evergreen at seventeen for the last eleven years
The American dream means staying young forever
In a picture in a pamphlet, getting yellow from the weather
And years will pass since science class, and I might forget your name
But when the crow's feet come, to kingdom come, you'll always look the same
There ain't a reason on this earth I'd go back to my hometown
Somewhere in the clouds, Davey's running for a touchdown
