55 yr old average runner here. Its awesome to be up early on the American Tobacco Trail all by yourself enjoying the peace and quiet then get blown away by some NCAA bests that get real small, real quick in front of you after you hear "on your left." Go Pack!
67 year old injured runner here in the UK. What a beautiful place to run! The surface looks absolutely perfect for this type of training - and the weather is obviously pretty good too. Envious of it all - and your youth!
Both the group looks promising. Season going to be exciting with all these talents featured on this channel. Great stuff Gordon and be safe on that wheeler.
110724 I love this. Grace and Hannah may be the best 1-2 stick in the NCAA. They're certainly in the top 10. Let's see how many of the Baby Wolfies plus Brookie, Fiona and others they can pull along. It's too bad Leah appears down for the count. But Ellie Shea, the true freshman, is already in the thick of it. I hope they all remember that 'running on empty' performance of last year, when, for example, Leah finished 43rd, in the same time as 44th and 45th. Leah literally won the team title for the Pack by beating two girls at the line by a few hundredths of a second. GO PACK!
A million years ago our team hosted a party after an invite and the NC state women's team came dressed to impress. Many hearts were lost that Saturday night. Fun team - great culture. You're only young once, enjoy every minute of it.
What a place to run, man that's an awesome trail, the girls looking fit and cruising...Laurie giving away conditioning secrets?.... not really, but that slight uphill is perfect.
"Work-Out Wednesdays" are back! Woohoo! What a beautiful trail with those stunning pine trees! I can just imagine how incredible the smell of pines is after a hard run. And the ladies look like powerful Valkyries-truly a force to be reckoned with! I know Sadie is going to have a blast during her first few months as those powerhouse mares whip her into shape. Ha ha! Thanks for sharing, by the way. Love the wolfpack!
110724 pt.2 Have carried on watching the vid to the end. One thing that impressed me deeply was the interval conference Henes had about concluding the workout. Her interaction with Angelina was very interesting. You realize that the level of discourse among the athletes and Coach is very high. This allows Henes to direct the team through conversation. I see what she and her women have said over and over: it's not a team; it's a program. This really provides a feeling for the discipline of a champion-class group of women perfecting one of the most grueling and psychologically demanding team sports of all.
Grace and Hannah are as good a 1-2 team as there is. As the Baby Wolfies come along, the Pack will be returning to the podium. I think Little Leah is down for the fall season, but I haven't seen any actual reports. She posted something cryptic on Instagram a few weeks ago.
The girl in group A with the white crop. I wonder if they can do anything g for her back/shoulders. Her right shoulder is so much lower than her left. I wonder if she needs to be adjusted or if it’s an ongoing issue. Her running is so beautiful though
My daughter is 14, and she will go to North Carolina to run for the first time. She is excited and nervous because she doesn't know what to expect for the weather. What advice can you guys give her? We are from California .
The average folk walking those trails... (god-bless em).... look like elves & hobbits when those wonder women wizzzz by em.... ha ha..... faster than a gazeelle with a cheetah on it's heels i meant to say.... Team looks promising Mrs Henes... have a lovely evening.... thanks again... Kindest & Warmest Regard for Best Wishes & Epic Success for a epic season

Sorry for your injury, what is it it? Treatable?
These women are so tough & awesome. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

These videos are great in providing insight into the college teams depth which you really don't see in big races.
Thank you for the support!
Great job Gordon! These ladies sure make fast look comfortable!
Super fun video! Thanks! Brings back great memories of tempo and speed on the C&O Canal in Maryland.

I forgot that Bethany Michalak and Ellie Shea commited to the Wolfpack. This is going to be a stellar team. Sadie starts next year. Yikes!
Man these girls are animals. They look fresh off the strides and 1ks
What a pretty place to run!

I would have preferred to see Gordon navigate the One Wheel on Lake Johnson wood chip trail
Go Pack! 🐺
Wow! Wolfpack 1K threshold pace = "I'm dead after one rep" pace

My morning motivation 😍
I remember Lake Johnson from when I lived there. Great place for training

15:45 5k pace threshold Ks are pretty hard.
