If you are running soul Cauldron just for graveyard hate, Unlicensed Hearse is probably better cuz it can become a wincon

Both hearse and cauldron require a creature on the battlefield to be a wincon, but hearse can't attack and exile at the same time, and can be removed as a creature. It's close, but cauldron might be de way
I've been running a Devious cover-up infinite pile that I've been having a blast with. It's astounding how good Elspeth's smite is in the current meta.

I’ve had extreme success with a variant of this. I use stroke of midnight instead of ossification/destroy evil, it answers anything counters can’t and at instant speed.
Stroke of midnight is better banishing light, I'm kinda surprised they printed it. It's good enough to run in Commander even.

Even when I am taking a break from Magic because of WOTC being greedy (and me being poor). I still come to watch CGB, makes me feel like I can afford the game still :p
CGB's thumbnail game really is the best in the business. Simple concept, excellent execution
LevenVD's are better. They're basically the same, but with googly eyes and stuff like that
I don't know if Azorius is the best combination to play Agatha's soul cauldron. Because all of your removal and counterspells exile the creatures. Since you need those in the graveyard first to exile them from there.

Mono Green put up some incredible work. Might've pulled it off except for not exiling the graveyard.
I LOVE the Soul Cauldron. Had another player offer me a rhystic study trade for it at the prerelease and I declined. It is both fun and versatile. The zero-mana-activation cost makes it so much better against creature decks than it should be.

I just got to Mythic for the first time ever with a deck I call "Whales, not wanderers". And unlike CGB I play 4-of, not one of because I want predictability.

I played aainst this earlier with the cascade deck, and I honestly don't know if this deck can ever win against cascade. Half of that deck is threats that must be either countered or swept, and the deckbuilding restriction means that gets worse postboard. They literally exiled 40 of my cards and it didn't matter because they'd spent every answer in their deck and I still had threats.
May I ask if you were in BO1 or Bo3, and could you please share your cascade? With me please
In the beginning of the video you show no soul partition, but then playing you have some of them, what happened to the original deck? Can you explain the change?

Im misunderstanding the math or something. How can a 15-5 record get to a 95% win rate on the play? 95% equates to 19-1. You can't reduce that fraction any further so what computation is being made here to come to that number? 🤔

I think the chance of making your vigilant samurai able to get opponent creatures activated abilities Is busted.
I also think that these shenanigans are what make me thick when i think about a control deck. It's almost like siphoning your opponent's library playing esper, which btw could be an even better deck for cauldron, because maybe you'd be using more black-destroy-creatures-stuff, rather then white-exiling-cards (exiling effects plus cauldron or hearse on the field is kind of a nonbo)

I hate playing against this in the current standard meta even more than mono red. Playing a 30 minute standard game hoping they might not have an answer to every single thing you try to play and cast is tedious and boring. I'd rather lose to two mono red decks in a row in less than quarter of the time

Day #1 of asking for Kellan + Sword of Once and Future adventure recursion.
It doesn't need to target, so it should be able to recur 2 cost adventures from the yard, including Kellan himself.
Probably better in a format with Sidgarda's Aid, but there has to be something there.
Include Lier to replay even more adventures from the yard

Urabrask seems like the most dangerous, but the most difficult as well.

i really feel like everyone here is overrating the *potential* upside of cauldron and ignoring the fact that 99% of the time it will just be worse than Unlicensed Hearse, and the 1% it does something, isn't even that much. How many creatures with useful activated abilities are played in standard right now?

Excited to play WU control again. When was the last time the deck had a big, flashy beater to bonk opponents with?
I'd like to suggest adding in a Blast Zone or 2 for dealing with Mono Red matchups. Had plenty of times it come in clutch as added simple removal for their 1 mana creatures and enchants. Really undervalued card I think in current meta, seen Sonio make some good use of it in their games.
Are some of these cards only usable in mythic?
4 creatures is a low number for cauldron, a card specifically for creature synergies. Soul Guide Lantern would be better - it replaces itself!

Just in time. Ran my old control deck and it got rolled by invasion of Alara. Too much value for my 4 counter spells.
Watching this video it makes sense why so many people are running mono red, need really fast aggro because everything gets removed immediately. Everyone else cant play the game, felt bad for that mono green ramp player

I don´t know if @covertgoblue knows this but, if you exile a planeswalker with Souls Cauldron, all your creatures with +1/+1 counters have all the loyalty abilities, but starts with 0 loyalty counters on it. Pretty useful when you exile Wandering Emperors

I love CGB videos but have been really down on standard bo1, much more of a fan of the historic brawl but even then finding I'm watching BO3 videos much more. Love the work regardless
46:55 for some reason the dumb auto-tapper tapped your Mirrex instead of the Field of Ruin in this spot. If it had tapped Field of Ruin, you would have had just enough mana to make one more 1/1 with the Mirrex, and then the opponent couldn't have blocked their way to another turn (even if they didn't actually do it and just let you get the win from that spot anyway).

There's not many things more satisfying for me than playing monored and going under a UW "I won't let you do anything, cause no matter how well I trade I will just refill my entire hand if I survive" deck.

Agatha's Soul Cauldron, Mindsplice Apparatus and Chrome Host Seedshark sound like they would make an extremely gimmicky and fun combo.

Well of course it is....they keep pumping out those low mana no brain cards and ban the cards in other decks that would counter them or make a player think twice about casting them. This is why when i see a blue land hit the board i just leave the game.
That t1 ego drain, poor guy doesn't know about Thoughtsieze bug. They can't even fix it in paper ffs

Just see the decklist is not what is played here. I think you need the cheap counters to make this work. Anyone else played this? You can only win against some decks and even then need the perfect starting hand. Unplayable like this.

I'd love to know how many games he really plays to record these wins. His rating jumps so much between some games, and playing the game i know how dog shit the shuffler can be. Most people lose about half their games in reality.

Yes always that is why I never play them. Problematic for the game because the mirror match is no fun either. Game needs to evolve but chads are going to chad.
That mono white deck at the end has to be the most boring deck in Standard.

That last game against someone who... I don't know, didn't know how to play MTG? It seemed like a waste of time. You may as well record yourself playing against Sparky. Was it just there to make the mono-green deck match seem more impressive? At least that one could have been someone's child or sibling playing their account. Anyone who thinks getting to Mythic is anything but a measure of how many matches you've played: watch this video.
Also you showed no syncopate or make disappear and you use it a lot... this is magic.

I do not like the whale. It is not a good blue finisher at all.
6/6 is not strong enough and not even with evasion.
Neither can protect itself, draw cards, recursion, ETB, powerful synergies, or any other good trick. The art is meh, it has no memes, and you feel nothing winning with it.

I don't think the whale is a very good win con. I know it's a new card, but it's just a 6 mana 6/6 that is slightly harder to kill. It's a dud in my book.
