I live on the island too and seen a group of 20 of these big boys go by me. I had about 15 feet to stop, though they were massive. Sheer power bucks.

A true Canadian !
Let me guess, ICBC said no coverage, right?
Careful out there...my dad was killed up near Fort Nelson by a stampede of wild horses crossing the highway. Had just celebrated his first AA birthday only for nature to get him.
Same thing happened out of Kalispell, Montana. My sister inlaw's father, got trampled too, and they took the roof down to the dash board. He lived to tell the story, and had pictures and the newspaper article on this.
Their knees are above his hood! These animals are huge up close. You had angels watching over you that day sir.
The car damages and minor injuries sounds like a lot of money, I don't think ICBC will pay out.
I've been surrounded by them as they weaved around the car near Thasis... I was scared but fortunately got stopped before hitting any. Majestic, powerful beasts.
I just did a panic stop on 3a just east of Castlegar for about 50 elk on the road and both sides. Yesterday's panic stop was for a moose in Appledale.
3a is alwaya bad foe Elk! We see them going to the river for a drink. just about dusk, every night. Moose in Appledale, I have not seen before!
I haven't seen elk, but I have seen moose in Northern Ontario. You don't want to mess with them either. A co-worker's car was severely damaged when he hit one.
They ain't as big but there both a pain In the backside either way you look at it a deer can wreck your vehicle just as much also.
I saw a herd of roosevelt elk destroy 2 holes on a golf course in sechelt, never seen one up close before i couldn't believe how big they are
Sure hope ICBC comes through for him.
i was driving a work van in the same area and had a herd of more than 100 run infront and behind the van
So nice to read a traditional Canadian story versus smth about immigrants 💩 ing all over Canadian culture.
I have seen this happen. They were crossing and would have been the same situation for a anyone/anything in the way. A person walking and luckily had enough distance, said one came out of the bushes cautiously, then the stampede.
Unfortunately his insurance company will question his claim
Get back to us with the ICBC outcome
he wasn't high at all.
High as ten hippies 😊
sounds high af in the interview
Somebody set up a Gofund for this guy. Get em some new wheels!
Common in Youbou
Only in Canada. 😂
i hope no elk were hurt
I had a similar experience with spooked deer that jumped over my car and into my fender in the city. I had a lot of explaining to do before ICBC agreed to fix the damage.
A herd of 30 lives in my neighbourhood.
Approx. 55 in my area & other small herds
Man i wish older cars in ontario were that rust free
This was a terrible mistake. The elk were supposed to trample Trudeau's limo on his way back from his ski vacation. Elk can be very dumb!
Maybe the local Cougar was spooking them his direction.
Imagine if he had had a dash cam.
It’s obvious the elk were after the post Christmas sales. 50% off scarves and hats! 😂
Thankfully, our insurance companies are not as bad as the states, but DDD strategies are still used throughout government.
Its freaky but lets be happy these animals are still around. Moose and deer are disappearing from hunting grounds in Ontario.
Of course you'll find they all moved to Newfoundland :D
there's a heard of them living just south of the nanaimo airport on a cow farm on code road.
Is that his real last name?
Peters? It’s a pretty common last name.
Definitely a sasquatch chasing the elk! Its that time of year sasquatch are on the hunt! Down out of the mountains.
Elk's reaction when they found out Justinder is still the Governor 😂😂😂😂😂
So he hit the elk? You made it seem like the elk did this on purpose!
The elk and he met at the same point snd then the herd ran onto and over his vehicle.
Insurance trying. To figure out a way to not payout for this
you hit the elk and not the other way around
Had Elk do the same thing to me and I was stopped, kicked the wind sheild out.
At least he has a good attitude 👍.
Ya gotta watch out for herds of Buffalo an elk in Canada.... it's the way of things....🎉🎉🎉
Not very many wild buffalo running around
Its vehicle damage! Not traumatic!
This story was traumatic to you with all theose exclamation points!!
Your not even paying attention
How would this NOT have been traumatic ? Scary stuff , they are massive ! He is lucky to be alive
Paying a lot of money to fix it is traumatic 😎
How do YOU know? This happened at night on slick roads. Ever had an accident? Pretty easy to criticize from behind a laptop!
Ahahaha sometimes comedy just writes itself
Release the wolves!! 🐺🐺🐺
You really think it was a wolf couldn’t have been something else that everybody talks about, but nobody wants to believe think about it it
Rudolf and the Gang strikes 😂😨😨
Oh well....
In northern arizona we call it you been elked.😮
Neolithic fear hits different. vi
They are after all…wild animals
Need a taller vehicle.
Sasquatch was chasing them you fools.
ive seen the ring 2 id be outta there
