When people called them out on this, Spotify then released a playlist for "most streamed groups" trying to play off like the didn't exclude them and were just separating soloists from groups. Oh, the explanation for that is, BB changed their rules, again. US Radio Play is now the most heavily weighted metric in determining Hot 100 ranking. When Jin enlisted, some fan commented that they suspect there was some kind of deal between HYBE and the gov't about the grammy. It's certainly one of the last few 'prestigious' (LOL, no.) awards that the gov't can use as justification for artist exemption; other groups had already won many of the other awards and not gotten exempted. But honestly I doubt it. The last I heard, the die-hards in the ministry were working to get rid of all exemptions. They're facing a population shortage, and apparently this is the first step in trying to deal with it.

He avoided the subject of BTS's potential exemption very obviously every time it came up. At this point, I'm past the denial phase and well into the, 'Well, then, take the consequences of your foolishness' phase, directed squarely at the obstinate, dithering government. I was quite inactive as an army in past two years or so. But I am coming back now, as some controversy with a new group hit (hybe releasing articles comparing newjeans to bts to promote them). Realizing that my previous lack of interest was not BTS’s fault but it’s actually hybe sabotaging their own main star to please investors was infuriating but also made so much sense! Anyways, I’m back, and it feels so good to be invested with the guys again!

really problem is that haters vote or try to make their favorites win not because they want their favorites to win but rather THEY WANT BTS TO LOSE, isn't it sad to be driven by hatred so much. ARMYs vote with the intention to win, they vote with the intention to make BTS lose and history shows such attitudes have never won.
And yet they still remain down to earth, and always have that burning passion to make music ever since the beginning of their career, which is no surprise as to why they deserve every bit of success they have right now. For me it is a true flex that LV signed all 7 members, you never seen that happen before. Especially with luxury brand like LV. On the individual brand deals I hope they are not pressured on accepting becoming brand ambassador as it can be quite restricting too (there’s many contract restrictions etc), they can also be free agent - going fashion shows of many brands, promoting selected collection, collab with certain product etc.

To add to your wonderful video, I think BTS contributes to cultural sharing by making awesome music that resonates with an international audience, who in turn learns Korean to better understand BTS' music. Their music videos have Korean cultural reference, traditional dance, traditional music and instruments, and historical references that ARMYs learn about. Whatever ARMYS learn about BTS' music, we are sharing in the comments section on RUclips,RUclips, Twitter, Naver, etc. Others won't fully appreciate the musical, artistic, performance, financial, cultural, and social impact that BTS has made until years have passed. It's ok, ARMYS know.
As always, i enjoy so much this series, i can't help but laugh. However, i still feel sad. The only thing we are fighting for is fair representation, and respect from others towards Bangtan, because they 100000% deserve it. It breaks my heart, that after almost 10 years of work, nothing really changed. At least is the Kpop industry. A music industry is supposed to be about music. But when an act appears, that is worthy of every compliment and praise, everyone is fighting against it with their all. If the companies do, i partly get that. It's kind of shameful, but for them, it's about the money. of course they don't want competition. You can put a lot of that at the doors of the companies as well. They encourage fans to be 'loyal' to their chosen groups, of course, setting up these strong emotional attachments and encouraging exclusivity. But then they actively encourage and condone the, 'If you're not us, you're the enemy' and the 'It's not enough that I succeed, you must fail' mindsets. I'm sure you know what I mean; tracing 'hater-fan' posts back to rival company accounts, coming onto social media to attack new fans and drive them off, pose as one fandom in order to damage the rep of another... all that. I like to say that the K-industry doesn't let anything get in the way of their success, particularly not minor little pointless details like integrity or ethics. But they don't seem to see the disadvantages: first, that in encouraging their fanbases to focus so hard on the rivalries, they actually pull attention and support away from their artists. And second, that by encouraging such spite and nastiness, they turn off many a potentially interested non-fan. K-pop has a rep for being appallingly toxic, and it deserves most of it.
The thing is: if you really care about the music then you don't really care about the charts or the awards because song A doesn't get worse just because song B is also good and is released in the same year, month or week - at least not if you genuinely enjoy song A.

It's both amusing and pathetic that they'd rather spend their time badmouthing BTS than supporting 'their' groups. And it's really kind of pitiful how they abandon their groups at the award voting to throw their votes to whoever might beat BTS. I've said before, I always feel bad for the artists who, if they look at the numbers, must feel betrayed and hurt to see what their 'fans' are doing.
BTS never have that experience: ARMY may or may not win the voting contests, but if we're voting, it's for our guys. Not for (or against) whatever fandom war is currently going on.

When Jin enlisted, some fan commented that they suspect there was some kind of deal between HYBE and the gov't about the grammy. It's certainly one of the last few 'prestigious' (LOL, no.) awards that the gov't can use as justification for artist exemption; other groups had already won many of the other awards and not gotten exempted.
But honestly I doubt it. The last I heard, the die-hards in the ministry were working to get rid of all exemptions. They're facing a population shortage, and apparently this is the first step in trying to deal with it.

It's my understanding, and I may be off base with this- but I hear that the current SK president is quite jealous of BTS's popularity, and was very offended when they couldn't/wouldn't perform at his swearing-in. Also he's extremely sensitive on the subject, since he himself was exempted for 'vision problems', and yet refuses to take a vision test and release the result publicly. He avoided the subject of BTS's potential exemption very obviously every time it came up.
At this point, I'm past the denial phase and well into the, 'Well, then, take the consequences of your foolishness' phase, directed squarely at the obstinate, dithering government. Heaven help the country if anything resembling a genuine emergency comes up; that government will be locked in 'we need to discuss the matter very carefully' mode until the sun goes out.
I was quite inactive as an army in past two years or so. But I am coming back now, as some controversy with a new group hit (hybe releasing articles comparing newjeans to bts to promote them). Realizing that my previous lack of interest was not BTS’s fault but it’s actually hybe sabotaging their own main star to please investors was infuriating but also made so much sense! Anyways, I’m back, and it feels so good to be invested with the guys again!

But I really don't like how Ador uses Hybe as a platform to promote NJ but still denies the amount of contribution the label has. It is not an insult towards NJ girls, they are good performers but I seriously do not like how that woman, whatever her name is Heejin or smth, always tries to deny the influence of HYBE in the group's success. Sure the debut was a hit because HYBE has literally millions of subscribers.

For me it is a true flex that LV signed all 7 members, you never seen that happen before. Especially with luxury brand like LV. On the individual brand deals I hope they are not pressured on accepting becoming brand ambassador as it can be quite restricting too (there’s many contract restrictions etc), they can also be free agent - going fashion shows of many brands, promoting selected collection, collab with certain product etc.

As always, i enjoy so much this series, i can't help but laugh. However, i still feel sad. The only thing we are fighting for is fair representation, and respect from others towards Bangtan, because they 100000% deserve it. It breaks my heart, that after almost 10 years of work, nothing really changed. At least is the Kpop industry. A music industry is supposed to be about music. But when an act appears, that is worthy of every compliment and praise, everyone is fighting against it with their all. If the companies do, i partly get that. It's kind of shameful, but for them, it's about the money. of course they don't want competition. But the fans,who are supposedly "music" fans, because they are fans of a MUSIC INDUSTRY after all, how come that they resist with all their might, when ffs IT'S GOOD MUSIC! I can't process this, not even after the 10th year as an ARMY. Shameful.😔💔
You can put a lot of that at the doors of the companies as well. They encourage fans to be 'loyal' to their chosen groups, of course, setting up these strong emotional attachments and encouraging exclusivity. But then they actively encourage and condone the, 'If you're not us, you're the enemy' and the 'It's not enough that I succeed, you must fail' mindsets. I'm sure you know what I mean; tracing 'hater-fan' posts back to rival company accounts, coming onto social media to attack new fans and drive them off, pose as one fandom in order to damage the rep of another... all that.
I like to say that the K-industry doesn't let anything get in the way of their success, particularly not minor little pointless details like integrity or ethics. But they don't seem to see the disadvantages: first, that in encouraging their fanbases to focus so hard on the rivalries, they actually pull attention and support away from their artists. And second, that by encouraging such spite and nastiness, they turn off many a potentially interested non-fan. K-pop has a rep for being appallingly toxic, and it deserves most of it.
The thing is: if you really care about the music then you don't really care about the charts or the awards because song A doesn't get worse just because song B is also good and is released in the same year, month or week - at least not if you genuinely enjoy song A.
