Super Sharanya does have moments where Deepu and Sharanya are alone and talk like a couple, either in physical proximity as in the tech fest or otherwise like their phone conversations. Their relationship was well developed.

For me the criticism about Reenu's guilt is so cliched and negates her agency to evolve differently or being empathetic .. ..Also Gireesh never ends movies with marriage or any prediction about everlasting relationships...Reenu say let s see as it is going to b a long distance relationship...Sharanya was also not fully convinced about Deepu.
Your 2 nd criticism about the pace - I think it did the trick for the movie ...most people feel something tempting but not enough...so want to go back and watch it again....repeat watch
Though Gireesh says he has changed his initial idea of a spinoff on Sonara... Sonara is actually Reenu and Sangeet is Sachin in many ways ..and evolving
