U2 is one of my all-time favourite bands. Their music from 1980 to now has been incredible. Their heyday was definitely the 80's and 90's but they've written some great songs in the 21st Century too, if not always as successful. Not many bands have lasted this long as U2 have (formed in the late 70's) with the same line-up too! If you like emotional ballads U2 have plenty of them but they really rock too. The band's RUclips channel has been remastering all their old videos over the past year, so now's a great time to watch lots of their classic videos in great quality! I recommend Pride, With Or Without You, I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking For, Desire, The Fly (from their magnificent Achtung Baby album from 1991 - this was a whole new bold sound and style for them, amazing) One (one of the most beautiful songs ever), Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, Stay, Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Electrical Storm and, if you like emotional ballads, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (deeply personal song about Bono's trying to reach out to his dying father who he was never close to and would wish he'd open up to him finally). There are so many other brilliant songs I could recommend. Their sound has obviously changed a lot over the past 40 years (alternative rock to big loud stadium rock to experimental industrial Euro Rock/Pop to soulful ballads and everything else in between. So glad you've checked out more U2. Some people knock them for becoming too huge, too successful (accuse them of selling out, etc) which is just crap. They became huge because they're that good. They may not be as musically adventurous and experimental as they used to be but they're still damn good and they have nothing left to prove after so many decades at the top. All hail U2!! Lol :)
I have lyrics from this song Tattooed on my arm in Gaelic. “Please stay a child somewhere in your heart”. Dedicated to my daughter. This song is in my U2 top 5
This is my lifelong favorite band. U2 is perfect, giant. I like the initial phases of songs from the past the most, but I love them in all phases because they don't disappoint.
love youre emotional reaction Derek U2 songs have that effect on People ive got another amazing U2 song which is another tearjerker its called " KITE " and is taken off the album all that you cant leave behind " you have yo do the live version from Boston in 2001 at 1.07 into the song youll notice a tear running down Bonos left cheek the songs about letting go of someone you love either a friend or a lover or a child gone to Heaven he lost his dad in 2001 the week the played slane castle in Ireland please react to this song Derek ive asked many people but have yet to get a reaction heres hoping you will do it
crazy that you reacted to this song because before I began loving Cedars of Lebanon, Original of the Species was my favourite song for years. Also One Step Closer from the same album is apart of my 3 favourite U2 songs ever
Audio is the same as the 2004 album version, it's the video which is different. This song is pure gem and isn't one of their most famous songs..... U2 has so many great famous songs and still more superb less known songs. Nice reaction :)
Thanks for getting back to U2, Dereck! May I say you have a LOT to catch up on this band? If moving ballads suit you, "With or Without You" and "One" are a must!
I would love to do more U2 trust me, but judging the numbers on this video; it doesn't look great. Lets see what happens down the road! Thanks for your support!
That's the problem when you're after numbers/viewers. Bands that are no longer together seem to be much more acceptable U2 are much more subtle in their approach. They manage to be one of the greatest bands of all time without anybody knowing about them. And it won't be until they're gone that people will realise what they missed Their best music is definitely the stuff that nobody but fans of the group will have heard. But the problem is If you stray too far away from Bad, Where the Streets have no name, Pride, One, the general public won't watch it. It's a shame that you tubers don't react to some of U2's darker stuff. Always listen to U2 live, the viewing figures would increase I think Please (live in Rotterdam) Exit (Denver Colorado) Last night on Earth (Mexico) Kite (Slane Castle) Breathe (Milan) Until the end of the World (Slane Castle) Sunday Bloody Sunday (Red Rocks) Bullet the Blue Sky (Paris 2015) Just a few examples
@@DereckReacts I agree with John Brady, it likely has to do with people flocking only to well-known hits. This one, though very good, is not among them. I don't think you should worry too much about it though. For one thing, unlike you, I'm no big fan of Mylene Farmer and tend to roll my eyes every time you react to yet another one (is there an end to her discography? lol). Yet I'm still there, because I like how you sensibly react to various things. Thank you for that and just keep it up!
in the official video version tattoos appears on Bono's arm, including one with a heart and underneath it says mother, which he lost when he was about 13-14 years old... it's still interesting how he produced a text about growing up like this........
Bone certainly has a voice of stretched sandy silk stained with whiskey (with an e of course). The music, the atmosphere, the lyrics and the presentation all add up. You should check out some live performances which are just as amazing. Love is Blindness from Sidney in 1993 is spectacular with the Edge just having gone through his divorce and releasing it into the solo. Thanks for this reaction!
U2 fait partie des ces grands groupes mythiques tels que Queen, Police, Genesis... J'écoute régulièrement leurs titres, plus particulièrement : With or Without You ; Sunday Bloody Sunday ; One ; Pride ; Beautiful Day ; Ordinary Love ; I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For ; All I Want is You ; Where the Streets Have no Name ; Vertigo ; The troubles....
Hi, loved your reaction. Mark Pellington is the video director, that's why is listed as his "version", this video is slightly different from the one that came out in 2005
He said he wrote this song Bono about his teenage daughter he didn't want her to try to grow up so fast because he wanted to enjoy what's left of her childhood because she was in her teens and he spent most of her life on the road and he wanted her to slow down and not try to grow up so fast and learn from his mistakes as well as hers and not be so anxious to give away her innocence and joy of the world because there are plenty of things she's going to see that going to make her grow up real fast
Bono has deep faith in Christ. He and Edge have studied the Bible for years and years. If you really listen many or most of their songs are as Edge says Gospel. And Bono has NO God child. He has beed married to his wife since they were 18-19? They have 4 children.
If there is anything one can say about U2, is that they proudly wear their hearts on their sleeves. Glad you reacted to this gem. One of their best.
U2 has good songs, great songs and brilliant songs.
Anyone who gets emotional to a U2 song, and shares it for the world to see, earns my respect and my subscription.

Bono's extended voice manages to catch my ears eeeevery time......
U2 has good songs, great songs and brilliant songs.
U2 speaks for all of us thru their lyrics, thru his voice, thru their music. It's all about us can apply it to any situation. In the end it's Love
I have lyrics from this song Tattooed on my arm in Gaelic. “Please stay a child somewhere in your heart”. Dedicated to my daughter.
This song is in my U2 top 5

Great reaction! Check out the song “With or without you” next, another u2 Gem, also “One” and “All I want is you” are great songs.
In my opinion there isn’t a bad U2 song in existence.
American Soul, I rest my case.
Get On Your Boots
@@YourLoyalDeserter That whole last album was a disaster and I’m a huge U2 fan.
@@continentalaquatics2725 I disagree actually, Little Things and Red Flag Day are actually pretty darn good imo
@@YourLoyalDeserter It’s funny you mention those two. I like both songs.
Bono has SO MUCH range in his voice
One of the best band in the whole world. I can't remember one bad song from them.

Great reaction. Made me re-appreciate this song.
Same here. Made me want to revisit their collection.
Mark Pelington is the video director. The song is the same as the album version, but the single mix pushed the guitar a little more into the mix
Such a beautiful song! I love U2 so much! They’re the soundtrack of my life 🥰🎶
This song live in Milano 2005 is excellent
