  • I built this sled last year, it ran decent. this season I will finish the break in and try to make some power, but first l will need to make a better fuel system for it!

      I blew mine up on the first ride.
      Last owner toasted pto seal and I replaced it when I changed the clutch, first day out I blew the mag piston.
      Rebuilt her in the snow and cold and then took more vids lolol

    What did you do to the carbs to get it running right. Did you lower the compression or add ring gap? I'm trying to build the same sled. Make more videos about this thing.

      Haha thanl you, and I actually got some good info on a Facebook group with a couple older guys who made good power on these sleds.
      This is a stock 670 non ho motor so its lower comp, the previous owner (my buddy) was riding around with a blown crank seal and on the first run with the turbo it blew up not even in boost.
      I rebuilt the top end with spi pistons, and these videos are all from the first real rides breaking the set up in.

    What kind of mods can you do on these sleds that is not too expensive?

    • @j.r.c.racing
      @j.r.c.racing  3 года назад +1

      Really depends on what your goal and ride style is.
      For me I prefer the body style before these for handling and tuning.
      But you can upgrade a stock 670 with a set of twin pipes first off, jet the carbs for the pipes, little clutch work always goes a long way. This sled is bone stock besides twin pipes, and the turbo kit I made.
      I did some stuff to make the carbs work with boost and that's about it. If you have the 670HO motor you can buy different heads for more compression on a na build or less compression if you want to boost it.
      Overall, best mods. Twin pipes and clutch work. Thats really all you can do with out pulling the motor apart and doing port work on the cylinders

      Advance carbon rotary plate 2base gaskets thin head gasket half inch cut out of the header then weld the flange back on bevel both sides the rave values theres lot an lot of tricks to these 670 583 look on the forms

      670 motors really love big carbs. Get a pair of ones from a 670ho sled and if you want to put twin pipes on it. I think it adds like 15hp

    • @j.r.c.racing
      @j.r.c.racing  3 года назад

      Has the twin pipes welded to a turbo manifold.
      Not concerned with bigger carbs really just want to have fun and make a little boost playing around on the lake in winter. I most likely will retire the sled next season and then swap the parts to a better candidate

    This isn’t impressive. Not to bash anyone. My 2001 mxz 700 with 110 psi on the cylinders could still out perform this thing.
