Hey - just wanted to let you know that you are the reason, that I bought the S-Gear Scuffham plug-in. Thank you so much! I’m using it with Logic Pro X on a new Mac with M2 processor. Made a latency test which said zero😁 It’s like playing through a real amp and it’s probably the best tone I’ve ever listened to. Putting a Boss SD-1 Overdrive in front makes it even better. To me it’s a mystery why Scuffham doesn’t get way more attention. Thanks again ❤️
Great demo as always by a true pro. I have a question, which amps would you recommend to buy that are not included in the standard Axe I/O, that you would use for your style and sound. By the way in my opinion you have great taste in tone and sound. Thanks for this demo it convinced me to buy it.
Not interested in recording guitar. Interested in something to replace physical amp and pedals for quiet practice through headphones. Primarily concerned about round trip latency using computer amp sim effects.
I’ve been searching for the right interface for a long time and am just never happy with guitar through the ones I’ve had. I actually went the inexpensive route recently and got the Behringer Uphoria UM404HD. Nit sure about it yet. But I also just got IK Irig HD X USB, be here in the morning. My question is. Do you think I’d benefit from this interface substantially over some of the more popular interfaces? Such as Behringer, UAD, Audient, Apogee etc? Seems like none of the more affordable ones put much consideration into the HI Z side of things. I know they all claim to have great guitar inputs, and great preamps etc. But I’ve found that to be no so accurate. This thing seems to literally address guitar needs over anything else. Of course IK Multimedia has done a great job for guitarists on multiple products. I’m wondering if the Irig HD X would actually be enough and not use an interface at all for guitars. Or, if I use the Irig AND this if I would get even more satisfaction due to the controls on this. Not even sure anything I wrote will be of any interest to anyone lol. Also, are you using outboard gear or, ToneX or Amplitube software in this video. Sounds amazing.
I see that you have the master volume on the unit almost maxed, so that tells me that you’re having to turn it way up to get the sounds from the guitar to feel right. The issue that I always have with these devices is that when you do that the computer audio becomes really loud and for some reason, they never give you a separate control to turn it down why they do this I don’t know what would make sense to me is to make it where if you don’t have, the headphones plugged in the headphone control would give you control over the USB audio coming back from the computer.
Not sure why you would need a separate knob when you can decrease the volume on your computer. When I'm using my interface Window's volume is always around 30%.
Because I want the playback volume of what I record to be the same as I heard it when I recorded it - but I don’t want the computer audio or RUclips videos to blast me out. Macs cannot charge volume separately when an audio interface is connected.
@@landon.cunninghammy Mac can. But I never bought into the Mac hype and got new gear. I use an early 2011 MacBook Pro with Logic Pro X. All I did was update the MBP. Added SSD drive and doubled the gigs. I have absolutely ZERO problems with Logic or any other DAW. And more to your point, my Mac volume is independent of the interface. If you’re telling me that new macs don’t have an independent volume option and you can only use the volume on the interface, then I guess I won again. Because that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If I’m hearing you correctly. And I actually don’t even believe that’s true.
@@BAND-MAID-USA it is absolutely true I have noticed it with multiple interfaces however, I just got the new fender tone master pro and I can actually change the Max volume separate from the interface now I’m not sure if it’s this particular interface or if it’s the fact that Mac updated Sonoma because I don’t have the old interfaces to test anymore
Hi Studio Rats, big appreciation for your content! I see that you are familiar with Boss multi effects and I want to ask if Boss GT-1000 has BIG advantages over GX-100? I'm choosing between used GT-1000, GT-1000CORE and brand new GX-100 for similar price and I can't decide. I would use it professionally both live and in studio. Thanks in advance!
Hi guys, absolute noobie with AI here. I'm looking for something that will provide me a solution to play electric guitar at night without waking up my three kids and while using pedals. I.e. I want to do a chain that is guitar -> pedalboard -> audio interface -> headphones. Does this even make sense? Can I use my pedals straight into the interface and get a decent sound in return? Thanks a lot for helping!!!
This release doesn't make much sense, why not just drop the price on the Axe I/O Solo which has basically the same feature set (other than technically one less input). If they had removed the direct out for re-amping it would have made more sense to add it to the lineup. Otherwise this just looks like a redundant unit (at a more attractive price point and locks someone into a single input for recording). What corners did they cut with the unit to place to come in $170 USD lower than the I/O Solo? (outside of the removal of a single input)?
Me 3. Just got the Irig HD X USB also. Probably one of the absolute cooles pieces of gear ever made for guitar players. And you get ToneX and Amplitube 5 software for free with it. Oh yeah, and Cubase LE if you want another DAW to use with it. iK is KILLING IT.
@@ArtoftheDial I was dreaming too much. Would be at least some presets onboard (with the effects and everything) with on off IR ... Would be a proper game changer.
@@szveszs It already basically exists (minus XLR input and reamp) in the ToneX pedal, you just have to pay a lot more for it. I have the AXE I/O (the full one) and ToneX pedal. At this price point of $130 or less and the fact it comes with ToneX and can reamp, makes it a game changer already, IMO due to the features + the cost. However, it is still a "home use" type of a unit because no one really wants to use a computer on a gig.
@@ArtoftheDial can it reamp in the fly at low latency? Ie could I use the reamp out to pull in a phaser or chorus from amplitude into my real pedal board at home?
I would not recommend naming your product an "AXE *** ". Fractal Audio already has been making products under the name "Axe Effects". I would suspect IKM may get a "Cease and Desist" from Fractal Audio's lawyers about the name being too similar.

Man it’s amazing 😅you sound the same no matter what you play through always sound good 😮I wish I could pick your brain ❤️☮️✨🙏🏽
Hi Peter, join us on the live show Wednesdays
As usual Paul, sounds great 👍🏻
Many thanks!
Can I just plug the amp out to the Boss Katana power amp in and use Tonex or Amplitube with it? Great video as always by the way :)
Love that guitar sound with Valhalla!
No Amplitube or any other amp sim? Just straight guitar and Valhalla?

Hello friend! This audio interface can be unlinked from the account, for example, if I want to sell it later?
Wooooo mind to share how you get that dreamy tone that you demo with the expression pedal?
Sure, I was using Valhalla shimmer plug-in.
Great stuff!

Is it compatible with iPad Pro? Thx
Yes
What was that pedal in the beginning?

I don't have much experience with these sorts of things. Can you run pedals into them?
Yes just watch how hard you go into the input.

I'm convinced you would sound good playing through an old rusty coffee can.
Can I use tonex presets onboard on this and plug out my amp? Or I need the computer anyway? Thanks
You need a computer. The ToneX pedal (ala $400) is the only way to run ToneX without a computer.
