Growing up together, Ten became a world class figure skater. He won gold in the world championships and bronze at the Sochi Winter Olympics. He often used Dimash’s version of this song in his routine. In 2018 he was murdered in a carjacking. Dimash held a concert in London and could not complete this song, breaking down while singing it. The next concert (Arnau) Dimash performed a stunning version of SOS, dressed in white and floating above the audience in a globe. Denis Ten’s mother has a seat of honor and a video of Ten skating and voicing his desire to sing with Dimash in the middle of the song. This performance is unfortunately overlooked as Dimash can make you tear up on any given day but when he is sad, bring a box of tissue brother. I think this song will always be prominent in his future concerts, for his friend.

As Paula S explained, this song is the climax of “rocking opera” Starmania, music by Michel Berger, lyrics by Luc Plamondon in the original French. The show was adapted in English in 1992 as “Tycoon” with lyrics by Tim Rice: it features Cindy Lauper, Kim Carnes, Tom Jones, Céline Dion and Peter Kingsbury (of Cock Robin fame) singing the English version of SOS titled “Only the very best”. Lauper’s The World is Stone and Dion’s Ziggy are also notable on the album. The project did not make it to a Broadway stage sadly. It is currently being revived in Paris, almost 45 years after its debut.
At his concerts, he introduces everyone in the band and they all get their turn in the limelight. Most of the band members are family and friends from childhood. Some download from his channel and have no problems. you might subscribe to his channel also.

Dimash has an incomparable range. His voice is incredible. He has a whisper quality to his voice and goes from low range to high but his high range is thin. His songs always have an operatic sound to me even when he sings a rock song. I don't know of any current artist that has his range. I guess maybe Adam Lambert has some of the same abilities but lacks the low range. He did have a decent low range when he sang Wicked Games at his October concert. Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor said he has one of the best voices out there so I guess they would know. He did sing the opera aria Nessun Dorma in the middle of the Queen show last summer. Maybe check him out. I like his acoustic songs he did that are on RUclips like On the Moon. His not Dimash but he's good.
