You should do the albums in order - Queen were much more of an album band than a singles band (hard to believe with so many great singles out there). Queen 1 (1973) all the way to Made in Heaven (1995)
Queen explored so many genres of music but with that special Queen sound. Leroy Brown was going back to the days of ragtime. Dear Friends from part 2 was a lullaby. They did gospel, soul, metal, funk, calipso, opera, rock and roll, ballads, and more besides yet people who don't know think of them as just a rock band.
You should do this with every Queen album, man! It's a journey worth taking. Start with Queen 1, and then just work your way through all of them! This was FUN! Fuck the "biggest" albums and just go through all of them, cause like you said you liked a lot of them that didn't have most streams... Find your own favorites, man, never go for the "most popular"!
Silas, just think about how different all the songs were from one another on a single album! You really need to do Queen from earliest to latest - start with Queen I and Queen II. You have now done the third LP, so after QII you can move on to "A Night At The Opera" and continue on from there. There are many great under appreciated tracks on their first two albums - you won't be sorry for reacting to them, trust me!
And the album literary goes out with a bang, and the kitchen sink. Thank you Silas for reacting to this, glad you liked it, I had a feeling when I learned you liked Boston, you would like this. The track 'Bring Back That Leroy Brown' was Freddie's cheeky sequel to the Jim Croce song 'Big Bad Leroy Brown' from the year before. The song 'Misfire' was the bass player, John Deacon's first song for the band. He would help write some of the hits.
I enjoyed hearing this album. Years ago I got rid of all my vinyl when phonographs were no longer around and I couldn't get a needle cartridge for mine anymore. I had no idea that vinyl would be back and certainly not in such a big way. So, hearing all this again is great. Brian plays a banjolele in that one spot on Bring Back That Leroy Brown. The low voice was one of their crew/engineers, I believe. Brian wrote and sings Stormtrooper In Stilettos, Roger was the lead singer on Tenement Funster from an earlier part of the album.
Misfire " is one of my all-time favorites , written by John Deacon , has one if the coolest bass lines ever , listen to the end about twenty more times on a loop 😊
The Game is a fantastic album. I think if you can do the albums in order you will enjoy the Queen experience better. It will be a wonderful journey of incredible musicianship from 4 equally talented individuals. I really enjoyed all 3 reactions to this album. I rate this album, alongside News of the World, The Game, Hot Space and Innuendo as my top 5 albums of Queen and in no particular order.
You want to listen to these queen albums: Queen 1 Queen 2 A Night at the Opera News of the World The Game The Works The Miracle Innuendo The other albums are very good but these are the best.
She Makes Me, Brian wrote in the hospital when he was suffering from Hepititus and he was actually on the edge of dying. It was very close. Hence phrases like 'i am warm and terrified', referring to high fever. And the last part of course expresses all his fears. You did a great job at this album. I recommend the first 2 albums, simply called ''Queen' and Queen II. A day at the Races is great too.
Great album reaction to one of Quen's best. Would love to see more for example the paired albums A Night at the Opear and a Day at the races both of which are superb
She Makes Me features Brian May on lead vocals. Four great song writers and three amazing voices in one band. It gives do much variety and influences to produce epic, exciting albums. You never knew what a new Queen album would deliver
Glad you enjoyed this excellent album. Still one of my fav all time. Now for something completely different? Try ZZ Top 'La Grange', "Tush', 'Legs' all power guitar tracks. Just for a sample. ✌
Do Queen 1 and Queen 2 and then Live at the Rainbow where they play all of these songs live and its even better. Plus you get to see Freddie prance around.
I know it was a key part of their whole aesthetic, but I was always in it for the hard rock, and I used to get annoyed when they put a song like "Leroy Brown" in the middle of it, heh...It was a lot harder to skip songs on vinyl...
Odd one of my favourite *Queen* songs not on this album and happens to be called *Sheer Heart Attack* // *"Queen - Sheer Heart Attack (Official Lyric Video)"* //
Just putting it out there that if you are back in 1974 you might also check out Mott The Hoople and in particular their album The Hoople, which contains such great tracks as The Golden Age of Rock N Roll. Back in 1974, Queen supported Mott on tour.
Check out a 90s band called Ween. Some of their stuff is a little too experimental (weird) for most people, but start with a normal one like " the mollusk" or "freedom of 76", then try a more avante-garde one "the stallion part 3"
Great album! Actually, Queen's first 4 are all great, I recommend them. My favourite is Queen II, but SHA is vying for 2nd with Queen I (this has the better Side 1 & their debut has the better Side 2 IMO). When you get to Queen II, please try to do one side per reaction because it's designed as two halves (White & Black). They're ~20 mins each, so it should just be possible!

I love the first two Queen albums....you might want to check them out too! Thanks for keeping great music alive! Take care little man!
He should check out the first _SEVEN_ Queen albums.😉

It was Freddie on the low note, his voice was slowed down.

It wasn't just their 70s albums that are so diverse. The Miracle from 89 has all kinds of stuff on it

YES !!
That might have been the second album I ever bought. Absolute classic.
Leroy Brown is a bit bonkers😂(Bring him back!).

You must do Night at the Opera and also Jazz. Heck, every album they did in the seventies were awesome!
Every album in general! 😊👑🥂
I would call Leroy brown a “beer hall shanty” lol. A real pub singalong type song.
You should start with the first two albums x
🎸💯 An extremely good album‼🔥
