Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

You can see that when Gus threatens Walts family - I will kill your infant daughter! Gus also had no issues with using children to sell his product. And it is very likely that Gus was at some point involved in some kind of war crimes or the military in his home country. So yeah. He enjoys being a criminal.

Absolutely beautiful scene. We get to see that even though most of Gus is an act, the façade was based on something real. He can love and want genuinely. If only he was able to move on, he could have found true happiness outside of revenge. Tremendously heartbreaking and I'm shocked this scene didn't win any awards.

It’s interesting. Almost biblical the way Gus is approached by this waiter, reminding him to continue his path for vengeance. there’s mention of an archangel named Sariel, who is set over the spirits that sin and looks upon the bloodshed on Earth. I may be looking at this too deep. I’m tripping, man!

Theological and biblical imagery isn’t uncommon in BCS at all. Saul meets Kevin to argue about settling the Mesa Verde case on Level 8 of the building in “Wexler v. Goodman”. According to Dante’s Inferno, liars are put into the 8th circle of Hell. Saul invokes Christianity several times in his schemes.

When the guy tells the story of the wine and it having a bloody/bloodshed taste to it because it's in the soil/earth. Almost as if Gus is consuming the blood of his enemies. The angel Sariel appears in times of vengeance. kind of ironic too when Nacho shoots himself, because when he shed his own blood as a sacrifice to save his father, a flower grew in the spot he died in.
