Artist Statement
My imagery is concurrently precious/impaired, plausible/ridiculous and intermittently political. I like to manage or miss-manage what is absurd, humorous, and irresolvable and revitalize events from the past. Formalism and pictorial space are the structure for narratives to unfold.
Starting with an image, I embed of clay figures to reanimate a vintage photograph, create new content to an illustration, or create a new story. I take a photograph; the image is digitally manipulated and printed. I then paint, use colored pencils, and sew into the archival print. The process is ongoing and the cycle continues until I can manage the content.
