I drove these in the 70's they were my most hated of buses, they were uncomfortable to drive and you froze to death in the winter, it was a great day when they went. My favourite bus to drive was the Leyland national.
Buses for potential boyracers! One driver floored the gas pedal for half a second in neutral during air pressure build up! Engine clocked up 3000 rpm! Almost left me deaf temporarily!

I didn't mind driving them really, as you say very cold in winter. Nottingham City Transport looked after theirs better.so I loved driving them.

Wrong. British Leyland was the whole group title for the whole brands. Leyland Truck & bus was a sub division of BL
