    hey wondering if you can help me, i'm no electrician but i would like to try and tackle a job on my qashqai, ive seen those cool LED rear badges and would like to try and fit one to my car, but im just not sure about the wiring process involved and i cant find any videos anywhere on youtube on how to do this. i'm a visual learner and can pick things up quite easily when i see it done. i'm really not sure which wires to connect to, some say the license plate ones- but the LED can also turn red when braking occurs (really cool!) and im not sure this would happen when only connected to the license plate power!?..any chance you could undertake a tutorial on this, please?

    Hey are there other tutorials I can check out for how to remove the paneling to expose the pillars and dome lights? I'm not quite sure how to take all that apart. I have a 2003 Honda Accord.

    What's the most cost-effective way of installing footwell lights where there isn't currently any lights?
    I'm thinking SMD LED STRIP LIGHTS, but I don't know.
    Any methods or brands you recommend for simple white light?

    Can you wire it to the fuse for the dome light instead? If the fuse is lcoated by the drivers foot then that might be a cleaner and easier method...

      @CARSHOPBLOOM  8 лет назад +7

      You could but you wouldn't get the independent driver & passenger, just both come on when you open door or turn on dome

    • @turbocat1984

      This was a really helpful comment for me! I don't care if they both come on, and that will make doing this job a WHOLE lot easier. Thanks :)

      You could just wire it to the headlights switch, save on all the wiring and have them on at night as you would normally with your headlights

    I think I am going to grab 2 led strips and wire it straight to the dome fuse. If I can find it.

    • @lucienwinter4515
      @lucienwinter4515 3 года назад +2

      On a lot of cars the fuse is constantly powered so your lights will not turn off or be actuated by door switches

  • @dafung6
    @dafung6 7 лет назад +5

    it will be way more simple if you wire it straight to the fuse. I wired mine so when my car is on, the lights will be on.

      daylindafung I wanted to be able to shut them on and off, as well as have them come on when you open the door. So that's why I wired them up that way but that way work too and is easier like you said

      danaila laurentiu if you follow this video, all you have to do is set the dome light switch to the door position and it should come on when you open the door

    • @haroldreyes7549

      YES!! On older Ford Taurus/Five Hundred, CHEAP FORD refused to install foot well lights. But the outside mirror Puddle Lamps always came on when any door is opened!!! Sooo, got Walmart $22 LED WHITE STRIP, stuck it under dash and glove box, tied both light's wired together, attached GROUND to any screw under glove box area, ran HOT under pass. door scuff panel, many wires there, connected it to outside mirror puddle lamp wire. Ford was orange/white the skinny one OR the thicker one. Forgot which one. NOW, INTERIOR LIGHTS UP AUTOMATICALLY WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, LIKE FORD SHOULD HAVE DONE FROM THE BEGINNING!!!!!!!

    For a point of reference, I'll link what I've bought

    imagine buying cheap lights from eBay, going through all that trouble installing them, possibly causing an electrical hazard in your car.. and after that the lights only lasted you a few months or so.
    Then you have to uninstall them and do the whole process all over again.

    • @CARSHOPBLOOM
      @CARSHOPBLOOM  2 года назад

      That would suck, luckily 6 years later these still work fine.
