Don't forget Karl Lagerfeld. His stuff was big in the 80s. I happened across a pair of Karl Lagerfeld clip on earrings at a local thrift stores for $4.00. Couldn't believe my luck. Givenchy, also big in the 80s. Clip on earrings were all the rage in the 80s. I have been lucky enough to find some very rare French designer named clip on earrings recently that sell for very good money. Enjoying watching your channel and learning quite a bit. You know your stuff. Last night I was binge-watching your vids, and I got the itch to dig through a bag of mixed jewelry that someone was throwing away, and I came across some nice stuff, including a cool Chzech blue crystal brooch (stunning, but missing one stone), a cool poured glass flapper girl necklace, and several other things. The things people throw away. It makes me cringe and cry at the same time. LOL.

Rhode Island was a huge jewelry producer up until the 80’s I believe. I’m from there originally but moved when I was in my 20’s. The jewelry industry employed so many. It’s a shame everything has moved overseas.

I think the lipstick looks fabulous and a great one to wear with the spider pin and earrings!! I love watching your videos and glad someone else loves the 80's jewelry as much as I do. I used to sell Avon so I did purchase many of the Kenneth Jay Lane pieces but not the one you just showed. I also have some beautiful Barrera for Avon... I sold a pin and earrings, regretted it so when I found them, I purchased them again WHEW... Can't wait for your next video!!

As for the lipstick just put a little lipstick on your finger and just put it on as a light stain with maybe a light clear gloss over it if you want!!

I have that Avon Kenneth J Lane necklace! One time about 15 years ago I went to the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston, they had an exhibit of costume jewelry. I was happy to see that necklace there.

Love your channel. I fell in lust with jewellery after finding a gold bracelet when i was a child. I was a make-up artist and the lipstick colour looks very good on you...it is a warm red...not many can pull it off....you can lighten it with another lipstick...or sparkly gloss....or add a pink/blue hue (like a "hot pink") to make it a cool toned red... the case it exquisite!

Another great video about one of my favorite eras, as my junior high, high school, and college years were all in the 1980s. I love seeing the big and bold jewelry, esp with the gold tone. There seems to have been a renewed interest lately, esp for bold gold earrings. That snake pin is beautiful and looks like a pixelated image. And the giant LATR spider pin/pendant would make a great addition to a fancy Halloween costume. BTW, that lipstick color looks great on you :) I think you're too hard on yourself. And even if it didn't, you could just place the case on your vanity as a decorative piece :)

I absolutely love any pins of insects, frogs, and just about any type of unusual piece I can find my two favorite pieces purchased in the early 90's were sterling silver lizard pins. My collection of frog pins are quite extensive and some are as large as 3 inches and very detailed.

Omg honey..... yes you CAN do red. It's actually very flattering on you because it's the right undertone for your complexion. I say... practice wearing it and watch yourself in a video until you get comfortable seeing yourself with the bold color. It's just a statement piece like a vintage necklace, unfortunately, women have been "advised" not to be too loud in far too many ways. I thought it was a classic and elegant shade of red and i believe you can not only pull it off, but really own it, if you can wear it like one must wear a hat.....100 % or not at all :)

That lipstick is FABULOUS on you because the darker shade compliments your dark hair and dark eyes. It seems to balance and complete your face on camera if that makes sense. It’s got my vote! 🌹👍💄

Beautiful jewelry. ❤ I'm like you. I can't pull off the red lipstick anymore. Used to in my younger years. It looks nice on you, but a lighter color with darker eye makeup would look fabulous on you with your skin tone and darker hair.
