When Ardal said a fox just skulks around suburban areas like a jazz drummer trying to score heroin, I was genuinely in hysterics for a good 15 minutes. Wonderful episode, and the next is ever better.
My boyfriend and I always say “no way!”, “where’s the HOLE?”, and “Ar you havin’ a laugh” along with them in the opening titles! Still do now, every rewatch.
Now when I watch Taskmaster there are moments when I think to myself, "I can't wait for Neil to see this!" This episode that moment was, "Take your fucking hand off me"
Ardal is one of my all time favourite competitors just for the studio banter. If I had to pick a from a list of previous contestants for a dream series then he'd go straight into my all star line up along side Bob Mortimer and Lisa Tarbuck.
Hard to imagine this show without the chemistry of Greg and Alex.. Without that the show wouldn't work as well as it does. And still loving the variety of tasks 😁
@@icturner23 yes I was surprised with that how they've managed to get some great pairings.. Haven't watched all episodes from the New Zealand show but looks an awesome pairing.. And the Norwegian pair are too..
That was the closest final score in Taskmaster history! And you say you want Greg Davies beermats, they actually sell those - there's a collection of products with the series portraits on them at the official store.
Thanks for the re-uploads of earlier episodes, I have seen them when they were new but it's bonkers that they get taken down. It's good promotion for the show to have reactions!
As predicted, Ardal and Bridget have had me in stitches, and I'm jus falling more in love with Sophie 👀🤷♂️💜 Her face at the end of the shoe task tho...😍😂
You would be so good at this Neil. I wonder if they have ever thought of doing a special episode for fans as competitors? I would definitely put your name forward. Love watching each programme then a few days later watching again with you. Thanks Neil.
Because the shoe game with the required "after every question" puts me in an evil frame of mind, I will tell you what I would do to be funny and attempt to win by asking no questions: I would throw shoes out the window without asking any questions, looking for a long thin slipper (yeah, I might actually have selected the correct shoe entirely by coincidence. Depends on my mood that day. But I wouldn't know that.) In the midst of throwing shoes out the window, I'd take my long thin slipper, and tell Alex to hold it in both his hands and his mouth. Then I'd go back to throwing shoes out of the window until there were none left but the one Alex was holding, and walk out of the room. Why? Because I'm supposed to find the shoe Alex is thinking of. So I can find the correct shoe. Or I can make Alex think about my selected shoe. And if you are not thinking about a shoe you are touching, tasting, smelling, and looking down, then you're lying. And yes, I'd be willing to take zero points if that's what Greg decided. But I think he'd admire me for being in an evil bastard frame of mind and making Alex lick a shoe.
What could possibly enhance a beautiful sunny cup final day , ice cream followed by the Eurovision song contest ( don't bother with the music but the voting is always hilarious ) but Neil reacting to Taskmaster . This week was another goody . I still can't work out if the women have no idea what a stag do entails or if they just wanted to do something bizarre . The tasks were all good again , I was wondering if Bridget might have had a busy night in between filming after the show task and pointing the remote at the oven remark last week . Also loved the Knappet reference for the final task . It's always nice to hear your laughter and thoughts about the show . Next week's is well up to standard .
If you AGAIN want to see Alex irritated (and with the same person!) go watch the Taskmaster RUclips channel interview he did with Bridget. To say he gets frustrated with her in it is a HUGE understatement.
Love this cast! Chris is probably my fifth favourite contestant this series ("least favourite" doesn't sound right in this case), and he would be my top contestant in quite a few other series, or close to top. I just love how this format (and Greg and Alex) instantly makes people that I've never heard of my new favourite human beings.
It took so long for me to realize there was a better system than even the geographic system for the shoes. You turn Alex around so he can't see the shoes, and simply display each shoe on front of him, one at a time. Take it away, display the next one. Zero questions.
@@DavidSmith-cx8dg Ah, but asking him for confirmation wasn't part of the task. You just have to *display* the shoe Alex is thinking of, you don't have to determine it.
How come you can see all these videos to react to but I can only see the video of the first episode? I enjoy your reaction videos but I also want to see the originals.
This was puzzling me for a while, and my guess is that it might be the sound of his fan spooling down each time there's an edit in the video. I guess options would be a noise gate or manually adding fades to the front of each edit, so not necessarily trivial. Just to add to that, there's a lot of sibilance from his mic which probably contributes to this as it's the same frequency range. He could trim the top end with an EQ and potentially kill two birds with one stone.
Loved your baffled reaction to the girls Stag Minute, absolutely no clue how Bridget managed to get Judi and Sophie to go along with her bird idea. I don't think the girls deserved 4 points for their minute at all, 2 or 3 max. Interested to see what you'll make of episode 5 as I found it a little all over the place, think they tried cramming too many complex tasks into one episode.
Neil should be able to clarify, but I’d imagine it has to do with this being a reaction video and fair use of the original material. So he doesn’t get a copyright strike.
The only series I haven't liked was series 9, which also coincided with my recovering from an operation. David and Jo were not suited to it, and Ed was too aggressive in his pursuit of points.
David was funny in how inept he was and how frustrated Ed got with him over it, and while Jo's attitude wasn't suited for being actually competitive her Horse or Laminator bit was epic.
I loved Ed - he’s so quick witted and the back drawing task is one if my favourites ever just for Ed’s reaction! The only series I haven’t loved was 10 - I loved Mawaan and Jonny was good but the other 3 didn’t rock my boat as much! wasn’t keen on Daisy and Richard a bit dull. This series is fab
You really need to go back and watch the early series because the recent ones absolutely suck in comparison. Rubbish unimaginative tasks. Up to like series 8ish it was great with fun tasks and funny people.

Got to love Greg with his "Take your fu**ing hand off me" moment --- No doubt in my mind that was unscripted and took both Greg and Alex by surprise.
Loved this episode - I had, Chris saying NO Way! in my head for days after it.
No Way!
@@scottythedawg It's still there! I hear you say, No Way, in a Geordie accent.

Same here. When I first saw it last week, I backed it up and rewatched it 3 times before continuing.
It never stops being funny
The stage extension is called the Knappett because Jesssica Knappett crashed off it during a task some seasons ago.
It was series 7, one of my favourite series of taskmaster 😃😂
I kind of lost my shit when I realized why they called it that 🤣 I don't remember them mentioning it before 🤣

I can't wait for your reaction to episode 5... I honestly haven't laughed so hard at a live task in ages xD
I was there for the recording of that episode... You're lucky to see the edited version! The actual task dragged on for AGES.

Notice how they called the 'pier' thing on the stage a Knappett? pretty sure it's called that after Jessicas fall in s7,
That's absolutely it. It's been called that a few times now since then.
She was such a mood, and I mean a good one!
