- I came across my top 20 coasters as of the end of 2002, so I thought I'd look back at those coasters and see how they ranked up when I redid my list in 2013, and then today.

Ranking all coasters
You are not “OLD”! I’m 63, imagine going to the big coaster parks in the 60’s and get a whopping 4 credits. The best of the best! -Texas Cyclone (Astroworld-Houston) , Flying Turns-Euclid Beach-Cleveland, Wildcat-Idora Park-Youngstown, OH. Some of the greatest coasters are no longer here. But thankfully I’ve been able to experience the best of the old and the new!
Well, old compared to the typical coaster community
I thought I was the Old Geezer that follows this channel, I'm 48. I remember riding Gemini when it was the tallest woodie in the world, Space Mountain in Orlando when Magic Kingdom was the only Disney park in Florida and countless trips to Opryland before the b*stards turned it into a mall.
@@AirtimeThrills well, the youtube coaster community, haha. I joined ACE this year and I feel VERY young in that group at 37 lol.
@627jace627 Your So Old That You Haven't Realised Gemini Is A Hybrid Coaster Not A Wooden Coaster
Number 1: Little tikes double down model. Also in coaster studios top 10
Sooo much airtime
I prefer when people expand on those things.
But its also the most cloned coaster
have you ever tried standing up on them? if not, please don't you'll hurt yourself
That first drop tho
Random fact : On iRat you can see steel eel in the distance
Cof shut up
@@beckhammunn72 ?
Does SWA have an observation tower? I wanna know if you can see Fiesta Texas from there since at SWO you can see parts of WDW and UOR.
@@DoswarePictures no, but all I know is that you can see steel eels hills and drop from irat,WWGLC , and superman
I’ve ridden IRAT a ton and I didn’t know about that. Where do you look?
I don't have a top 10 because I only have 7 credits. That'll change next year though, because I'll be getting 58 new credits.
But how large are those seven credits? I have eight, but they’re mostly kiddie coasters, the largest one being West Coaster at Pacific Park.
@@DoswarePictures dang, what's your home park it doesn't sound like anything is near you
K.O Limitless Oakwood Theme Park, Wales. I've only got three of the five credits there though, the other 4 are from travelling fairs
Dosware Pictures 6 are children's and family coasters, but one is Megafobia, an 85 foot CCI
Since I'm U.K based, I'll be doing as many parks as I can next year. The parks I can fit into my schedule have a combined total of 58 credits.
Finally someone who loves B&M hypers! I thought I was the only one out there...
12:52 That summer at SFMM was awesome. I loved talking to people in line to see where they came from to ride Tatsu. SFMM hasn't had that amount of buzz for a new coaster opening since... or I moved to the bay area and haven't been around as much.
Who knows if SFMM will ever generate buzz for a new coaster like that again.
@@DoswarePictures I know how, take almost 2 years to build a borderline kiddie coaster
I was in the middle of another video and instantly clicked over when I saw this notification. THANKS FOR THE GREAT CONTENT!!!
Chris: ranks raging bull in his top ten twice
Great america fanboys: finally someone understands
As another Chris from CA, Raging Bull is fucking amazing and doesn’t deserve any of the hate it gets
Love the Bull!
@Ty Morgan my home park too. It's my favorite in Gurnee.
I think ever since the coaster studios review people have assumed the worst. But luckily it is staring to get more recognition.
Raging bull is complete wack. Worst hyper by far
Saying that Lightning Racer sucks hurts me man. It's in my top 50, so maybe you need to experience that ride with full trains. Hopefully that improves your opinion on it
It looks like a good ride
It's my 2nd favorite at Hersheypark
Also trim brakes may be a problem. I heard somewhere that they randomly add trim brakes to change the dueling aspect, so watch out for that i guess.
I do agree with you on what you said. I rode it this summer in a near full train (although I think they cut off some rows with trash bins) and it was quite intense.
@@michaelkeehan8094 there are 0 trims on Lightning Racer
Diamondbacks is definitely one of my faves too. And my home park. 🥰
Your credit count with the high in depth ranking analysis is great. I love your use of statistics, like how you do percentiles and shit, makes it a whole lot more interesting. Keep up the good work Chris👍👍👍
Another good day with airtime thrills
Yea it’s nice to see improvements in your favorite coasters and show that you improved it
Your 2020 countdown is virtually perfect. Perhaps it's because we're older coaster enthusiasts, but I'll admit you have more more experience than I do even if I'm 50. The only three on your best of 2020 list is Steel Vengeance; Twisted Colossus and Ghostrider. My three favourite bucket list coasters form that countdown I've not yet ridden are Fury 325; Diamondback and El Toro. Thanks for posting this awesome video!
I love your channel because I also prefer airtime over positive Gs. Many of your top 10 are either already in my top 10 or on my bucket list!
425. That’s my phone area code. Great video. Love the lists for all of the different years. Keep Up The Great Work and Stay Safe
My orginal number one was Wile E Coyote Coaster (now known as Magic Flyer.) I think that is self explanatory. Then for a very long time it was the Matterhorn Bobsleds. This was all well before Millennium Force was ever built or most of the really insane coasters started to pop up. Now my top coasters are Steel Vengeance, Lightning Rod, X2 and Storm Chaser.
I still really like kiddie and family coasters and have a special place in my heart for those early rides that got me started. Don't call yourself old Chris, you drag some of us with you ;)
I remember marathoning Magic Flyer in 2008 back when it was called Percy’s Railway. I was really into Thomas at the time and had wanted to go to SFMM and SFDK just for that, which I did. I also would’ve wanted to go to the other locations, but they were thousands of miles away.
This is hilarious 😂😂😂 Really enjoyed this!
0:37 someone lost a hat lmao
Lol good catch I didn't notice that at first 😂
Great lists and and definitely awesome video, I was a little surprised that you didn't have Banshee somewhere on one of your lists, however I definitely enjoy the videos!!!
you should make a video of your bucket list coasters
Your 2020 top 10 is spot on 🔥
You’ve inspired me to start making a top coasters list
I LOVE your videos man
I've been watching you for the last year or so and your content just gets better and better dude 😂👍I'm glad you got to experience dueling dragons, probably my "rarest credit" lol RIP. You gotta get up to Valleyfair some time this year, if they open. I think you'll love renegade.
Valleyfair is my top US bucket list park but it doesnt look good for me this year. Was supposed to be there soon
This was pretty interesting to see how your tastes changed (or didn't) through the years as more coaster credits got added to your roster. El Toro is my #1, however I haven't been on any RMC yet. Unfortunately, just as I started to get into coasters, cancer struck. I'm hoping to get back on them soon. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you 👍
I hope you can overcome it.
Interesting to see Ghostrider so high on your lists. Many people don’t think it is that great, but I guess that is just opinion. Great video as always!!
Who says ghostrider isn't great? The general consensus ive seen is that its a top 10 woodie
People who don't love Ghostrider either have only ridden it when it was rough (pre GCI retrack but after 2010ish), or just hate wooden coasters in general. It has a 120 minute or more wait most busy days for a reason: it is undoubtably the best wooden coaster on the west coast (no Gold Striker is NOT better, the airtime and laterals on Ghostrider are enough to seal its elevated status as the best). If I had to make a bucket list wooden coaster list, I'd have Ghostrider in third, below Voyage and El Toro.
I’ve seen lists where people don’t even put it top 80 in the world. They put woodies like time travel and coaster PNE above it. I haven’t ridden ghostrider, but based on POVs, I can already tell that it is way better than those rides.
Nice lists🔥
You can’t argue with math ! Good retrospect look back
Airtime Thrills is the only person I know that gives Raging Bull the credit it deserves. That coaster has one of the best drops ever. I’ve been on it plenty of times cuz Great America is my home park. I only like Goliath more at the park.
Theodoros Maheras it probably will. Cedar Fair seems to want to improve that park and a hyper has been rumored for years.
Facts. My home park as well. The ride is 21 years old, and it still packs a punch
Raging bull is lame.
coolgamer17 wot m8
Raging Bull sucks
Great video!
This is a great video idea
Airtime thrills I really hope you read this. I’m 13 years old and I’ve been a roller coaster/ flat ride enthusiast since I was Like 5. Your my favorite roller coaster channel because your make the most unique yet interesting lists for me to enjoy. My home park is six flags over ga. Although I haven’t been to many parks I’m hoping to visit more soon. Keep making awesome videos 👍
My top 3 is:
3. Wonder Woman
2. X2
1. Irat
I guess you’re really into Alan Schillkie.
lrat? you mean Lrod
Mine is Iron Gwazi, Icebreaker, Mako, then Montu and American Eagle. A year ago it was American Eagle, Goliath, Raging Bull, Cheetah Hunt, and Hulk
This was fun for me because I am also a native of SoCal, born in 83. I remember Viper opening and how "extreme" it was. My first real coaster was Montezumas at maybe 8/9, which was awesome because I also remember being too short to ride and when I was super young, causing me to cry hysterically. Collosus was my first big out and back. I remember going to see my Aunt in Vegas and riding Desperado when it first opened and how it was record breaking! Then we moved to Ga and I was so dissapointed with SFoGa because of how small everything was compared to out west. Back then it was hard to find info on parks outside of where you lived because there was no internet! Cheers from another "old head!"
It’s amazing how you have ranked every coaster you have ridden. I am doing the same thing but I only have 50 credits.
Wow it’s someone who actually loves Raptor as much as I do. Finally there’s people giving that ride the respect it deserves. Raptor isn’t just a great ride. It’s one of my the world’s best coasters imo. I’ve ridden 112 coasters, and it’s still in my top 10 and second favorite at Cedar Point (yeah I said it).
It’s the only good ride at cedar point. So I agree!!
Although I disagree with your opinion on lightning racer, I forgive you for pumping out good content. Keep the good stuff coming.
Nice video keep up the gravest work
Just wants to say I love Sophie’s top coasters and she is precious and smart and I loved the spinning cars reference to baskets😂so sweet. I just wanted to let her know, she did an amazing job and I now want to go ride the rides she named. ☺️☺️Your and Mrs Airtime Thrills are raising a wonderful girl.
GP to enthuseast 😂😂😂😂😂😂
As an operator of Millennium Force at Cedar Point in the 2020 season, ATT calling her “Millie” had the whole crew shakin’.
0:37 Did someone’s hat just fly off?
Roar at six flags discovery kingdom is sooo much better than top 62%, I LOVED this ride when I was a little kid and would do so much to do it one more time for good memories, this was my first big coaster and my first ride was with my mom and I loved it, unfortunately my mom has passed away and she passed when I was only 12, so this ride holds such a special place in my heart and I will always remember my first ever big coaster and how I rode it with her. I love you mom ❤️❤️
If you do ever come to the UK, I absolutely recommend going to both Lightwater Valley and Flamingo Land.
Both are smaller parks up north and Lightwater Valley has the longest coaster in Europe (second longest behind Steel Dragon 2000) and Flamingo Land has some surprisingly good coasters including an SLC and a newer Intamin 10-inversion model being built.
0:04 great reference lol Homer at the bat. Great episode
One of the best
@@AirtimeThrills safe travels man can't wait for new content. "Get rid of those sideburns!"
Your not to old, I went on The Beast in July 1979 the first year it opened, I was ten years old, so I got you by a few years, Lol. Great video!
my top five is definitely fury steel vengeance lightning rod diamond back and maverick keep it up love your vids
Wrong
coolgamer17 its an opinion
Very creative idea
6:03 smoothest transition ever
Can’t wait to hear what you think about the rollercoasters of Australia. We don’t have lots of coasters. But the ones we have are rather fun. DC Rivals Hypercoaster, Jet Rescue and Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster are coasters if love to hear opinions about. And I want your opinion on Arkham Asylum, Australia’s SLC with an extra helix, it’s rough, yes. But I don’t consider that one crazy rough. But I need a more knowledgeable opinion on that one hahaha. But get keen cause Australia is currently constructing a Mack “Blue Fire” clone, with a spinning back car (Time Traveler style) and a Gravity Group woodie called “Leviathan”.
Chris, just watched your daughter's 10 ten list posted today (June 26th.) She's a darling and I also have a fondness for Revolution because it was my first inverting coaster. My oldest little girl has a coaster count of 38 so she's doing pretty well for a 7 year old.
My favorite wooden coaster is the Phoenix at Knoebels. Just rode 5 times yesterday. Back row and airtime was awesome.
10:37 ha funny. did laugh.
Who else is looking for GP to Enthusiast’s comment?
Wow when you get your 70 credit I wasnt born! But my First Coaster ever was Colorado Adventure in 2011 at Phantasialand.
Nice video
You should make videos were you start listing coaster stars certain parks like cedar point or six flags magic mountain.
He. Did that but with the top 2 coasters
I’m just saying that I would like to see him do it for some of the significant parks he has visited
Good vid!!! It got my son and I talking about how his credits are only from Great Adventure, Hershey, and Knoebel’s, and with the Miley all around us now, how to keep at it. A lot depends on how these parks look as they open back up, but I had a thought that I’d be ok with just going to those 3 parks(and the easy drive) for a while.
Bad ass video! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I think it's great to see how other people rank coasters. I can only really say that Steel Vengeance is my number 1 (56 creds - Home park is CP). I can compare roller coasters within the same park in a list, but not really across other parks. I like Fury and Steel Vengeance, but I like them for different reasons, and I keep fun factor separate from the ride itself (I have more fun on Magnum, but I like SV as an experience more). Because of this, comprehensive ranking lists are near impossible for me, but I'm okay with that.
Wow your list is really similar to what I would imagine mine to look like... (I don’t really have an official list). Raging bull is wayyy up there for me too!
Me having Raging Bull as 4th best in the park having Great America being my home park
I love that you love Raging Bull. You're the only big channel that gives it respect. Coaster Studios dogs on it and I literally saw him ride in row 2. You must ride the back 3 rows before giving an opinion. Peace brother good video.
Well Theme Park Crazy probably has an appreciation for it. After all, you can’t go wrong with a B&M hyper.
@@DoswarePictures hahaha truth. Forgot about him.
Tatsu is painfully low on this list! I get it, you've ridden most of the best coasters in North America, but Tatsu is unanimously the greatest flyer outside of Japan, and for good reason. Even you said it's unbelievable that SF even built this impressive beast from the far East. Maybe I'm partial, as it's my #3 currently, only just below Twisted Colossus and SteVen. It really is that impressive and intense. Very few rides have ever made me feel like if something with the restraints went wrong right now, I'd be flung 130 some feet to the pavement with no prejudice, and that's exactly what I think every time I come around the final helix on Tatsu right above the main entrance fountain.
Its a fun coaster but kinda gimmicky to be honest so it doesnt stack up with some of the elite coasters ive ridden
Who?
I didn’t realize how much Chris likes airtime over Intensity till now just Bc of all the b&m hypers
Appreciate the Florida love ❤️
I'm not a huge fan of Raging Bull, but I will say that the drop in row 9 is fantastic.
"I enjoyed X-Flight just about as much as Firehawk."
I wonder why that is... :)
Well, my point being Firehawk was older and relocated while XFlight was brand new at the time i rode it
LIGHTNING RACER IS A GREAT RIDE
I like riding coasters but i dont ride very often and i'll never ride 99% of them that youve ridden. With that being said i absolutely love your videos. My favorite that i've ridden would be Outlaw Run at sdc.
Nitro is my favorite coaster. It’s not the best coaster I’ve ridden, but the sense of euphoria I get going down the first drop is insane
I haven't ridden El Toro or the Beast or Voyage yet, but my favorite wooden coaster right now is Ravine Flyer at Waldameer.
Being from Australia getting my credits is kind of hard. The xcelerator somehow became the obsession. So riding that was amazing! The slingshot start makes just so much better I also loved their boomerang buuuuuut I hated ghost rider. Soreeeee
But I also love space mountain and California scream’n. But my all time favourite was the corkscrew at SeaWorld Queensland. I would marathon that coaster every year. Smooth fast and the turnovers were incredible. It’s my comparison to every coaster I ride. And yes I go to WB movieworld and dreamworld 🥰
Raging bull is a fun ride. I wish I could ride it soon. Sadly, Six Flags Great America isnt open yet despite zoos and FECs being allowed to re-open.
Poverty
Pretty awesome how you track this over all those years! Have u been using a spreadsheet since the beginning? I need to start doing the same. And yes, those next five years will be very interesting once u go international.
Btw, I’m old like you and haven’t ridden coasters since high school in 2000 until this past fall 2019. I became an immediate enthusiast when the first ride I did was twisted cyclone; I remembered it pre RMC pretty well and realized holy hell, coasters have gone insane! Afterwards I went up the hill and did Goliath for the first time. From first RMC to my first Hyper, I was hooked even at the ripe age of 37...
I haven't been, but for 2002 I actually did my list on a site and the cards i used are actually taken from that list from 2002. I didnt have anything visual for 2013 but i have the list
Wow paragraph fanboys
You should do a series where you visit the reopened parks and see how they’re handling everything
Twisted Colossus broke down 3 spots away from riding back in February when I visited Magic Mountain (I'm from Toronto Canada) :( :( :( Otherwise I have only been on Apollo's Chariot and Tatsu on this list!!!! Not sure I'm a big fan of flying coasters! I had more fun on Full Throttle! Apollo's chariot is great but I rode in 1999....I''m old..... I wonder if I would prefer Behemoth or Apollo's Chariot if I rode them back to back.
Shambhala is waiting to be in your list;)
I'm older than you. But you've been on a gajillion more coasters than I ever have! ;)
Chris, if I win a lottery, the first thing I’m going to do is buy you a B&M hyper😂
Yesss
Can you afford a rmc?
Finally some love for raging bull :))
When I was 14 it would have been something like this: 1. Top Gun (aka Flight Deck) 2. Medusa 3. Coney Island Cyclone 4. Giant Dipper 5. Roar 6. Hurricane (SCBB) 7. Stealth 8. Invertigo 9. Demon 10. Vortex (aka Patriot) Yeah it was slim pickings growing up in the Bay Area in the 90s/00s
I think both American Space Mountains are still fantastic rides that don’t get enough credit. Disney World has some really great airtime in the back seat, while Disneyland feels like you’re going absurdly fast and is super whippy.
Airtime thrills: “I’m old”
Parents in their 30’s: gotta agree on that one buddy
This joke sucks 😅
It’s weird to think that I’m making memories of going to parks and getting on all these coasters and in 30 years I’m going to be telling my kids the things I rode
You should come to the uk, our parks aren’t as big, but we have some amazing rides here
Gemini and magnum are the awesome rides at cp no one ever rides so u can marathon both it’s amazing
NGL I'd legit be curious of the whole ranking of ALL your credits. If any good news, seeing Goliath at 222, it gives me a general idea of how my favorite coaster will rank too. Since it's literally Goliath's twin, Titan.
I’ve only been an enthusiast since 2017, and out of 24 credits, only one coaster has been on any of his lists. Apollo’s Chariot, which I haven’t ridden since 2014.
Everything after my top 4 would be considered an embarrassment to larger enthusiasts.
The bat was pretty fun especially when it goes over the water
Where at Magic Mountain did you work the summer of 2006? That was the first year I ever went to SFMM (and we ended up going 4 times overall).
Tatsu was incredible that year. I also considered Scream a favorite coaster then. (It was only 3 years old at the time).
You should do a video talking about both the Disneyland and Disney World Rides. Maybe ranking them or something.
NJ has opened all outdoor theme parks for July 2nd
I'm sorry that your newest video had disabled comments. In the description, it says that the video is made for coaster enthusiants.
Man I don't even want to think about what my list would've looked like in 2005. That's when I became an enthusiast. I probably didn't have more than 30 credits or so. In 2005 I had been to Cedar Point, Geauga Lake (only got 6 of those credits) and Kennywood. I went to Kings Island in 2007 (only got 7 of those) as well as Conneaut Lake Park and Memphis Kiddie Park 🤣 (I was 12 ok!). I also went to IX Indoor Amusement Park in 2006 and got three credits there. By the time I did all of that I probably had 50. I would get new credits in 2009 when I went to Waldameer for the first time and in 2015 when I went to Holiday World. I wasn't an enthusiast from about 2009 until 2017 though. Since I've gotten back into the community I've acquired almost 40 new credits last year so now I'm at 96. I would have gotten to about 130 a few weeks ago if this year hadn't been so ugh.....
Hi coaster daddy
If you ever come to the Netherlands and need a guide, I would love to join you on visiting parks!
GG. I haven’t ridden any of these lol.
Only ridden medusa
Only ghostrider
I have a request. Top 10 smoothest wooden coasters. I love woodies but I cracked a rib on Thunderhead this March, I assumed it was a freak accident. I rode The Legend after 2 rides on The Voyage last Sunday and guess what? Cracked again! Now I'm a little gun-shy and don't want to risk it again but I made it just fine on Lightning Rod, which is pretty smooth. I'd like some ideas on what is "safe" and what to avoid. Thanks.
Good idea, added to the list
This feels like some sort of modern history course for top class roller coasters
