- Descanso’s Enchanted Forest of Light is an interactive, nighttime experience unlike anything else in Los Angeles, featuring a one-mile walk through unique lighting experiences in some of the most beloved areas of Descanso Gardens.
Returning favorites and fresh delights
Don’t miss popular returning illuminated favorites, including an entire town of magical “stained glass” creations on the Main Lawn by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin; sparkling geometric installations from HYBYCOZO in the Rose Garden; Flower Power on the Promenade; and exquisite lighting effects in the Ancient Forest.

Enchanted is a rain-or-shine event. Tickets are non-refundable, have timed entry, and must be purchased in advance.

Entry times: 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm, 7pm, 7:30pm, 8pm, & 8:30pm

WOW! I see all that you show and I feel at peace, calming, relaxing lights and music in nature surrounded by all the trees is very nice. I like everything you show there and they have food? Sounds great. Thanks for sharing.
There is a variety of food at Descanso. There is an entire market up front with hot and cold foods, as well as treats along the trail.

It's such a peaceful experience and so beautifully lit, I enjoy visiting each year.
Went to the Descanso Gardens on a 5th grade field trip so many decades ago. It was beautiful. Would go back there again to check out the place. Thanks for the walk-thru video.

Is this year round?
No. Enchanted is a seasonal event. Dates are in the video description. The garden itself is open year round during daytime hours.
Did you enjoy Descanso more or Holiday Road?
Different experience. Enchanted it more about lighting and an immersive experience. Holiday Road is more traditional holiday decorations. I enjoy both, but the experience is totally different.
Which is better in your opinion Lightscape or this one?
That's really hard to say. I really enjoy both events and think both locations are beautiful settings. Enchanted's displays are a bit more immersive. The Ancient Forest and Garden of Good Fortune at Descanso are absolutely magical. The pricing is pretty comparable. The on-site parking at Descanso is free. Hope that helps!

This or Astro lumia?
That's a tough one. I really enjoyed both. Astro Lumina is more of a out of this world experience (I called it almost "spiritual.") The lights are presented in "shows," which last 3-5 minutes each. Descanso is equally as beautiful. You can't go wrong with either one. Descanso has great food and beverage options and free parking. I would say it depends on where you live and which is closer.
Are there any Christmas Events that you'll showcase in the high desert like the Fear Farm in Phelan? Fear Farm was awesome
