No offense but it feels like you didn't realize you were reviewing a $120 version of the Royal Oak which is an integrated bracelet watch, when you complain that you can't swap the bracelet and that it catches the hair on your wrist.

Fair play mate. I think we've all had great watches from Pagani, my Pepsi GMT homage is superb. It's as if Pagani are living off their previous successes, and churning out watches that are substandard. I've moved away from Pagani now, and believe that Steeldive represent great value for money. Another honest video Don, thanks.

Thats exactly it, previous successes that you could forgive little issues due to their low prices. A price a chunk over £100 means expectations change somewhat.

Is there anything worse than a hair ripping bracelet that you can't replace? Yes... a hair ripping bracelet that you can't replace, with a clasp with no micro-adjusts, and end links that are too wide for the case! Thanks for the honest review Dan. Now I can strike the Pagani RO off of my list. The Cadisen is too large for my smallish wrists, so my search for a RO homage continues.

yessss finally! So many channels are reduced to sales pitches for new watches. It´s so obvious since they all review the same watches at the same time. Lovely to see you taking a critical view (totally correct btw) on new watches. keep up the great work! This channel has risen so much in the past few years and rightly so!

Really appreciate the honesty. To be honest I'd prefer a hole in the head to a Royal Oak design, it's not my style, but if I did like it, I'd go for that Cadisen! 👍👍

Spot on commentary Dan. I had not pulled the trigger on the Cadisoak but my son did and I liked the look of it. Then I heard Pagani Design were bringing one to market so I held out. Heard it was quiet a bit more expensive and then I saw it..... Fail!!! So I just ordered a Cadisen (42mm) earlier this week for €66, nearly half the price of the Pagani at €121! Not sure it will be major seller for them.

I thought i would disagree with your review but i somewhat agree , haven't ordered it yet , bracelet is mainly shit on pagani design (hair puller and sharp edges) , i didn't see anyone point out the 2mm off bracelet and even the screws.

  • @tedblack2415

Much respect for this totally honest viewpoint & agree ,Pagani seem quick yo up their prices without the inclusion of quality offering with the odd acceptions ,i think they're better off sticking to the sub $80-90 mark until they can , they're a far cry from the San martin's & Cronos of the world , the likes of Steeldive,Heimdllr, addis, cadisen pretty much all the direct competition are at least offering value .

Yeah, I’ve had three different Pagani Design homage watches within the last year, having started collecting at the beginning of the first lockdown. I’ve sold them all as I very quickly decided a homage style watch wasn’t for me. I’d rather have something original on my wrist. Having said that I’m really interested in the Steeldive fifty fathoms bronze, so might have to break my rule 😂

    • @karlsenula9495

I have the Steeldive fifty fathoms bronze - looks lovely but no bronze buckle. You can buy one branded Steeldive separately. I also picked up a silicone waffle strap for it.
Other issue is the bezel movement sounds not quite right.
All that said I love mine and it gets lots of wrist time.

I just ordered a Pagani PD-1673 V2. Maybe it will be more acceptable. I received a Pagani PD-1649 about a week ago and a Steeldive SD 8102 a couple of days back and I'm OK with both of them. I dont seem to look at parts that arnt as good as they could be I suppose. I was realy impressed with the Pagani then more impressed with the Steeldive watch. My watch that I have been wearing and I bought in 2005 is a Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay and its still quite good even though I wore it installing air conditioners in houses. I cant understand why the Seiko Kinetic didnt take off. It keeps perfect time. When I dont wear it for a few days it stops but inside it keeps working and will bounce back to the correct time etc. when I wear it again. It has a capacitor that charges from movement. Great Idea. It was very well made also.

O.K. so you're an "expert"? I've had this watch for 2 years and think it's wonderful!! Three times I have been asked "how can you afford to buy a Royal Oak"? Three times I've explained that it's a hommage but it still takes them several minutes to accept this until I show them the dial name!! This watch has been excellent value for money and on my 7.5" wrist it is very comfortable (maybe you didn't take the time to properly adjust the sizing?

It's a shame that this watch has is badly finished and has some unrefined features such as the badly fitted bracelet. Sizewise it's one of the very few watches wearable on a slightly smaller than average wrist. The Cadisen may be better finished but even the 42 mm version is significantly bigger than tbe Pagani Design. Its a missed opportunity and way to expensive for what's on offer here. You worked this out well in the review! Cheers Dan!

Thanks for the video- I too took a chance on this one and am still waiting for it to deliver and you've confirmed what I thought I saw in the pictures and demo video about the bracelet link being too oversized. I'm hoping that my OCD will not actually notice it in the person. But, I now have the Rotary Regent on its way too (taking its cues from more of Genta's PP Nautilus inspiration rather than the AP style) and online it looks like Rotary may have gotten the bracelet right. So far the biggest niggle online about the Regent is simply using the Miyota 812A while charging the hefty price. So I hope they did get the bracelet right and it's not their version of a cash grab! From what you point out in your review validates what I thought I was seeing about the Pagani bracelet so I guess that means I might be returning or selling my Pagani before it even arrives! Thanks for the review!

And have you ever handled a mid-tier Swatch group watch? Watches costing an order of magnitude more have worse lume than this. I don't understand why they don't just do away with it altogether.

Pagani can't afford the rise in their prices for too long. Their QC issues are far too many to survive because the value for price they once enjoyed is horribly unsubstantiated now. There is always at least one problem, and for myself one others, that's one too many. It's a shame because Pagani Design at least had their branding on point that set them apart from others. I could wear a PD on my wrist and not feel awkward like I was wearing a watch from a bubble gum machine.

Lol. the Cadisen bracelet is a piece of crap, it's much MUCH rougher than the Pagani, the screws on the bezel are as far removed from the original as the Pagani so a moot point. The lug-to-lug distance on the Cadisen would not, by any means, fit, let alone 'fit well' on any wrist smaller than 7 inches, I have a 71/2" wrist and it 'just' fits me. The brushing on the case of the Cadisen is as rough as the skin on my nuts. I bought the Cadisen first and was disappointed so I ordered the Pagani (at around US$100 so not sure where you purchased yours from at that price). The Pagani is a marginally better watch, not much BUT better so maybe you should have stuck to talking about the Pagani and not make comparisons with the Cadisen and prompt people to but that instead as it is a 'much better' watch, IT ISN'T.
