Audio is choppy and disconcerting. I should be immersed in the product, not distracted by the music. Cute lens, but not $499 cute. Perhaps MTF charts will sway us?
Really impressive, but 500 dollars is definitely A Choice. I was really interested, but with so much else on the roadmap it's hard to justify this when there's opportunity cost involved.
If you’re looking to shoot video and want a versatile, lightweight lens, check out the NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8 S. With an expansive ultra-wide zoom range, suppressed focus breathing, near-silent autofocus and a 9-rounded-blade iris that can be smoothly opened and closed using the click-less control ring, the NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8 is outstanding for videos of all types, from vlogs to cinematic films.
I use my Nikon Z Cameras for video a lot. I heard the lens autofocus is very noticeable. This is sadly the bigger dealbreaker for me than the price point.
It's way too expensive not to mention no VR for DX body.... Nikon should look at Canon's cheap lens all with IS! Anyway, I am waiting for the 24mm DX for my Z50.
$500 for this lens, this is ridiculous. It should never been more than $300, especially taking into account that it doesn't have internal focusing. Nobody's going to buy this lens.
Just checked, Nikon Ai 45/2.8 P manual focus pancake lens still sells used for $400-500. I guess there is a market for small pancake lenses, even if you don't think so.
Nikon should release a FF Zfc.
and a mirrorless d7200
I mean the C stands for the sensor size APS-C
Now it is released. Nikon ZF
Thank you Nikon
Love this pancake lens 🔥 now, all we need is some syrup! :)
thanks for the clear information
Great lens. Useful on both FF and Apsc. Great match for Z30, ZFC etc.
with this lens, we need a super light ff camera to pair it with, probably around 2xxg +125g
i need this for running or cycling.
thanks
WOW ❤️❤️❤️😍👏👏
I 💛 NIKON 👌
Absolutely beautiful lenses. Thank you very much Nikon you are The Best…👏👏 👋
Seems a bit expensive but can't wait to give it a try! 😎
This is amazing! I’m getting one for my Z fc!
Please release a WR version of the 40mm SE with a metal mount Nikon. Make my day.
Awesome!!!
Informative video but the music is distracting
right on
Beautiful lens ...
love it
I love Nikon ❤️

Is it sharp wide open though? I returned my 40mm f/2 because it sucks at f/2.
From the samples I seen, it looks tack sharp wide open and up close. I think it's gonna be a great little lens, I'm just not a huge fan of the design.

A lot of feedbacks tell about the noisy autofocus which is bad in video recording. Any explanations from Nikon ??

Like the look but the price is high
Can dust get into the camera through the front of the lens barrel that extends?
Hi Dakota! What camera are you planning on using?
If only 28 could be this compact
Nikon please give us depth of field indicator with meters and feet, would be great to use this lens with zone focusing technique.
Great idea. Think it won't be so difficult for mirrorless as the information can be posted on the screen.
The background music is as well thought out as the price.
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

26mm with Z30 is equivalent to Ricoh GR3x.
I was shocked at almost $500 price. I would order this sight unseen if it were priced comparably to the 40/2 and 28/2.8.
500 bucks is a steal for this
@@cronufc you are funny!
@@cronufc I hope that's sarcasm.
Another option is E-Series 28mm F2.8 for just $60-70.
... which is not really a pancake lens if you have to add the FTZ.
More budgeted lenses please. That isn't manual focus.😅
A real pancake.🤗

I’ll stick with my 28 2.8

in my opinion the price can be decreased about 20-50usd and i hope nikon will release this lens with retro version
New Canon EF-S 24mm F2.8 STM Pancake = 149 Euro in Germany at the moment - this here should be 600 Euro😈
too expensive for what it is
600 € is a big no
I will wait for real World reviews at the moment im closing my wallet
👎👎👎 Be Warned…. I bought the 26mm Lens for astro. Unfortunately, my shots all had bad coma, so I am getting rid of it
the lens is fantastic, the angle of view not so much.
Distracting music!
Oh man…turn down the level of that background music. Actually, at that level it’s not even “background”.
take notes panasonic oh wait...

I think I will buy it.
I’m getting one.
Speak for yourself

I think you meant to click on Jared Polin's channel 👋

overprice
ANY fixed f2.8 is NOT worth it considering that you can always get a 2.8 zoom. Yeah it's lightweight 😒 but that alone doesn't justify it .
That's certainly a hot take man, you go tell 'em! XD
The aperture sucks
