Great stuff! I’ve been a logo geek since I was a kid. I’ve always loved SMU, and Louisville, and the Wake Forest Deacon guy. I wish WF would make him the primary logo and the WF as the secondary. Looking forward to the other conferences.
I reject that "aggressive bear" logo. That came out when Sonny Dykes destroyed Cal football. The "Cal" script is classic, and I love how the full name "California" is in similar script in the end zones.
Nicely done. People used to get confused with the Stanford S and tree and NC State who also used a big red S and is one of the biggest forestry colleges in the country. On ebay you'd sometimes see Stanford player's cards and stuff sold as NC State alum.
Let's go Wolfpack! NC State can use its block S + N & C for academics but Tuffy the wolf is where it's at for athletics! That underdog narrative hasn't been true for this past year's athletics! They've done VERY well.
IDK if anyone else has mentioned this, but VT chose their colors because it was the only color combination not being used at the time, and I think it looks very good.
NC State has changed their logo way too many times over the last 40-50 years. The current wolf looks almost identical to Nevada's old logo. The diamond nSc on the right @15:20 is the same shape as the diamond "F" at Furman University. Their coach at the time Dick Sheridan brought it with him from Furman.
@@vistatiger7493 That logo was basically a football logo when Sheridan was coach, but it waned after his tenure was over. Tuffy the wolf has been the unifier over the decades, and the university continues to use a few different versions of him. Some are complete throwbacks and I love them.
The helmet designs that some college teams go with, when it comes to the native American logos,is the direction I wished the Kansas City Chiefs would try for once. They've been using the same look for decades and I feel like it's time for a change. Seriously!
I'm a Louisville fan, but if I had to pick an ACC logo that isn't Louisville as my favorite, it'd have to be Virginia. Those two sabres crossing under the V is a really classy look.
A surprising thing about Syracuse is they change their nickname from the Indians to the less controversial Orangeman. Not knowing it is very political as it was representative of The Dutch Reform Church
The mascot costume looks meaner and tougher than the actual Rameses? Clearly you have never seen any Rameses fight to breed or just drive away another ram.
I don’t know about Syracuse being dead last but each to their own. I do think Otto, who is in the mascot hall of fame now and the only ACC mascot in the HOF, should be used more.
@@orangeflaws8088 That's because they all copied it. The paw was created by an advertising agency in Greenville SC in the 70's. I guess to copy it is the greatest flattery. Clemson's paw is copyrighted with the tilt to the 1:00 position which was a nod to the start time for all Clemson home football games back in the day. Mizzou's has an "M" in it and is positioned straight up.
I've always been bothered by FSU's logo, and I totally understand what he means by it being busy. It's just graphically not very good. I've always wanted FSU to redesign their logo. The spear used on the helmets though is fire!
Man, your list sucks.
Then put out your own.
Hahah love the pin
@@Alan-lv9rw At least admit that FSU at 13 is a crime. And NC state, the best logo??? Heck nah
Great stuff! I’ve been a logo geek since I was a kid. I’ve always loved SMU, and Louisville, and the Wake Forest Deacon guy. I wish WF would make him the primary logo and the WF as the secondary. Looking forward to the other conferences.
the FSU disrespect is crazyy but thanks for the vid

Dang man, FSU at 13 is insane. It's my favorite logo in college football

Oh man, you lost me with VT. That maroon look is beautiful and original. Do not change that!
Let's go Wolfpack!
NC State can use its block S + N & C for academics but Tuffy the wolf is where it's at for athletics!
That underdog narrative hasn't been true for this past year's athletics! They've done VERY well.
The best way to piss off a Clemson fan (and one should on a regular basis) is to point out their tiger paw print and say "go LSU!".
Or War Eagel! Literally Clemson took parts of both LSU and Auburn and made a whole mess out of all of it.
@@spencerjackson3754 Neither school uses a paw though.
IDK if anyone else has mentioned this, but VT chose their colors because it was the only color combination not being used at the time, and I think it looks very good.
Love the videos
As much as I hate to admit it, NC state has some of the best branding in college sports.

You have an awesome broadcasters voice…engaging
As a Louisville fan I really love the throw back to the Football Louis/ Heisman Cardinal
The helmet designs that some college teams go with, when it comes to the native American logos,is the direction I wished the Kansas City Chiefs would try for once. They've been using the same look for decades and I feel like it's time for a change. Seriously!
How the hell is Pitt so high? Better than FSU, Louisville, BC, Virginia, and Stanford?
Florida State that low is wild, even as a Syracuse fan that logo is top 5.
I'm a Louisville fan, but if I had to pick an ACC logo that isn't Louisville as my favorite, it'd have to be Virginia. Those two sabres crossing under the V is a really classy look.
I’d love to see the MAC logos ranked! I wonder how my team WMU would stack up with their rebrand that has… mixed opinions throughout the students
Ain't no other team has a better logo than fsu
You're right - Cal is holding themselves back on this list with that lame modern/fierce bear. #GoBears!
I'm not a VT fan but there Unis are awesome. What are you talking about? Maroon and orange is both unique and awesome looking!
The Dalllas alternatives are one of the best unis out there for sure.
FSU down at #13? Have they added that to their lawsuit against the ACC? Clearly the ACC has harmed FSU in this as in all else.
A surprising thing about Syracuse is they change their nickname from the Indians to the less controversial Orangeman. Not knowing it is very political as it was representative of The Dutch Reform Church
As a die hard Miami fan, Clemson should easily win this
solid list although i personally don't like miami's logo at all and probably would have put it at like 15, but it's all personal preference for sure
SMU has a better alternative jersey than Ohio States black out jerseys?
nothing better than the 90s seminole logo. they completely ruined it with that stupid "update" in 2014
Personally offended you didn’t put FSU higher 4:19
The mascot costume looks meaner and tougher than the actual Rameses? Clearly you have never seen any Rameses fight to breed or just drive away another ram.
miami fan here thanks for making this is was clenting my but when you got to the top 3 cause u hadnt mentioned miami yet lol
one of my family members was born in NC
The U is the most iconic of the logos. I think FSU and Clemson should be higher
It’s the all coast conference
Wow surprisingly low for FSU…and Duke now that I’m further along in the vid, that D is classic
Also you’re wrong putting UNC above Duke
If you did include Notre Dame, where would you rank them?
I would move up Miami to #1, SMU #2, UNC #3, then NC State at #4.
I don’t know about Syracuse being dead last but each to their own. I do think Otto, who is in the mascot hall of fame now and the only ACC mascot in the HOF, should be used more.
If you have a SEC won the piss off South Carolina university or Jack Pettibon they’re their life rooster which on which which I’m a tiger fan
Do Big 12 next
The SMU logo stole their logo from the Calgary Stampeders
I went to high school in Brighton Michigan. Our logo and colors are the same as Clemson
Go SMU!
Go NOLES..
VT unis rock whattt
SMU
Two Two gripes brother, Clemson needs to be first and it’s pronounced CLEMP SON
The paw print looks great, but it is used by tones of schools (hs and college). Missouri for example has a paw print logo as a tertiary logo

Love the list- Cal is wayyy too high man
Idk man I personally hate the NC St logo
NC State is as “busy” as the FSU logo.

17. Wake
16. BC
15. Cal
14. Pitt
13. Louisville
12. NC St
11. Cuse
10. Stan
9. Clem
8. VT
7. GT
6. Miami
5. Duke
4. FSU
3. UVA

I’d have NC State near the bottom
Nc state is not a good logo
