    Nice shave. I've always liked the SV soaps. I don't use them a ton but I do like them.

    SV one of the my 3 or 4 favorites with Abbateylamantia no. 1, and Zingari and Southern and Witchcraft. Saponificio Varesino for the Fragrances is undisputed no. 1 for elegance. Try also the not shaving products, soaps bath and shover, hydratation cream and so on.... Wonderful

      I haven't tried the 70th anniversary, would you describe it??

    • @andrewfletcher2213
      @andrewfletcher2213 2 года назад

      @@TheVirtualGroomroom absolutely Jack. The 70th anniversary is essentially SV’s unofficial take on a really well known and popular aquatic fragrance; Aqua Di Geo. It’s a very fresh, aquatic scent with a what I would describe as a light citrusy base. It’s very much in the typical style of Italian colonia aquatic scents. IMHO I actually very much prefer SV’s interpretation of the scent in both the after shave and soap. It’s actually has a cult following a little bit and it was my first soap of SV and will always go back to it. They haven’t reformulated it into the 4.3 as it’s still the 4.1 base but it’s still amazing. Not quite as creamy and luxurious as the 4.3 but we are really splitting hairs at that point considering the price point and I bought it when their pricing was considerable lower. And since they came out the EDP they have completed a set. It’s quite truly a unique scent that’s well praised. Barber Dave is a brand ambassador of company and his video on the soap might help shed some light on it! It’s just an iconic scent for those who’ve used their products. Very much how Woolfat has a original and unique soapy scent. Wish I could latter that thing better so I could use it more. Hope that helps. Cheers from a cheeky Irishman to a Englishman. Hehe 😜

    From what you say about SV, Jack, I definitely think that you are paying for the image of luxury and the connotations that go with it.
    Great first Duck outing, mate!

    SV is outstanding stuff, super luxurious. Is it particularly more mass produced than say a Barrister & Mann? It's outstanding stuff that I can't picture reaching the multitudes. If Italian's are more prone to wetshaving I see them reaching for Proraso or Cella as the mass produced soap of choice.

    • @TheVirtualGroomroom

      This is certainly produced in higher numbers than any of the artisanal products. The only limit it has is cost.

    Great shave and beautiful duck! I’ve always really enjoyed SV… I find it to be incredibly slick and the scents are high quality. My favorites are probably Felce Aromatica and Cosmo (Cosmo would be #1 if it were stronger scent wise)… I also really like Tundra Artica which I don’t see many use… it’s a bit darker and features Oud, it’s lovely too! But honestly, pretty much whatever soap/scent SV releases seems well thought out, planned, researched, and executed.
    The price over the years has continued to increase which I’m not a fan of lol… I don’t think that the new versions/bases are that superior to the older SV soaps to justify much of a price increase (for me). My only other complaint would be the tins… I’ll give them credit though, as their tins actually look very attractive (at least initially lol) but unfortunately they just don’t seem to hold up and most get dented/beat up. The Cosmo tin I have from them is very robust though (and attractive) so if they’re set on using tins, I’d prefer they use that style of tin for their other releases. But I’m nit picking a bit.

      That's really the biggest downside, a set of this is around $80 and that's very expensive. The performance is unquestionable though
