Gohan has actually always been my favorite character, whether or not he was training. I agree that super actually handled Gohan well. To be honest I LIKED the fact that he was weak, he focused on his family, which is reasonable. He focused on life, there were Goku and Vegeta, he had no reason to train. They could protect the earth. However they were gone and it showed that he couldn't always rely on Goku and Vegeta, and that he needed to be capable to protect the people and planet he loves.
Yea, I’m hoping we’ll see him fend off Moro somehow when the arc concludes, it looks like he may be involved somehow but I guess we’ll have to wait and see
I think vegeta might get the win, I think goku will use UI (complete) and battle morro and once goku loses power again, vegeta punches directly into morro ripping him out from the inside. Vegeta did say it works on fusions.
Gohan isn't a fighter like Goku and Vegeta are. He doesn't go off after a strong fighter to sate his Saiyan urges. He's a man, a real man, who has a family that he proves for and takes care of. Sure, threats will come to the Earth and he'll have to step up to protect it and his family. But other than that, he's not Goku 2.0 because if he was, fans of his would still complain anyway. Be happy for the guy, he spent most of his childhood fighting against the Saiyans, Frieza, and the Androids. It was tough on him and still is behind the scenes. At least he's found happiness with Videl, Pan, and being a scholar. Isn't that what we want for these characters? To be happy and have joyfilled lives? Consider my words...
Piccolo summed up his character in the fight during Cell. He pretty much a human with Saiyan blood. And just because he's part Saiyan doesn't mean he wants to fight, just look at DBS Broly a full-blooded Saiyan.

Yeah, dude definitely would be the strongest Z fighter if he trained. Vegeta, the man with the most pride in the group, even admits that Gohan's potential still far surpasses his and Goku's own despite having God Ki. However, Gohan chose to live a life of peace because that's what he wanted until he realized the cost of said peace. To ensure it one must be strong so he started training again.

I really enjoyed this video. I’ve always been a gohan since I was a kid watching dbz. I ain’t going to lie I was upset of his character for a bit in super. But as the anime/manga progressed I came to appreciate and understand it better. He still my favorite and I hope he just continues to be involved and get stronger.

My main issue with how Gohan was handelled in super is that they didn't build upon his character right after the buu saga, instead opting to nerf him and making him progress from the beginning. Furthermore, gohan says he's training but the audience never really sees him train or struggle, due to this when he achieved his ultimate form again it didn't feel built up to and thus atleast for me the moment felt unearned. Although I liked how gohan lived a normal life in super and how he overcame his previous flaws, in my opinion it wasn't executed properly and that his character should have progressed from where he was left off in z.

I agree with most of the points in the vid. But I still think this Gohan's training thing should have been handled better. It should've been shown more often for us, the viewers, being aware all the time he's been training with Piccolo (showing short scenes now and then would have been enough). Many people think Gohan got a great power during last training before the ToP, and thing is he had been already training with Piccolo for a year or so. Last time he dedicated that time training was with Goku in the Hyperbolic Chamber and we all know how well it turned out... And yes, all in all, Gohan's development has been so much better than I thought it would be until the ToP. In the ToP we have seen a serious Gohan who doesn't underestimate his opponent, quite the opposite, he shows respect, and he fought using strategy and without arrogance. He's really learn his lesson, and has grown a lot as a character. That's why I've always liked more Gohan than Goku. Gohan is more relatable... more human, and has much more complexity as a character. Not only that, it seems there's continuity to that in the Moro arc, so, considering Gohan is my fave character, I guess I can't complaint as much as other character's fans (I'm thinking in Goten, Piccolo...).

I like gohan, but to think of what he could have been as a fighter is just disappointing. And to see him reach amazing levels with little training, like in the tournament of power. If he was really into training he definitely would be the go to guy, instead of waiting for goku and vegeta to show up.
I think they are doing the same thing with goten and trunks. In the buu saga they play around alot. But on 17's island they would learn not to play around and get more focus during the fight. Also they could grow up in the time they are of not in the manga/anime.
I can't speak for anyone else but my only real issue with Gohan is that I wish he could be allowed to learn a lesson and keep it learned. Think about it, when fighting Vell he learned the lesson of "Don't play with your food, just kill them" when fighting Buu he learned the lessons of "Don't slack off" and "Don't play with your food, just kill them" and when Frieza came back he learned the lesson "Don't slack off." Don't get me wrong, I don't want Gohan to give up on his academia and become just l ike Goku and Vegeta, I really like that there are more characters that are than just "I like to punch things" but I also wish that Gohans entire character between Frieza arcs couldn't be summed up as "This experience has changed me. I'm not going to give up on me dreams but I can't sit back and do nothing anymore. I can be both, I *WILL* be both. I won't be a burden anymore. I will fight, to protect my ooooh look a book!" I'm glad the Tournament of Power seemed to actually have Gohan retain his lesson from Frieza. Let's just hope it sticks this time.

What if Gohan trained under Vegeta while Goku was at yardrat? What if Roshi was a saiyan? What if Bardock went to Earth with Goku? What if Bardock turned super saiyan against Frezia?
Dude strong I give em that, but until he actually stands out on his own, he'll continue to be apart of the "not Goku" crew. He needs a gi, new move that isn't the Kamehameha, and to make his own decisions instead being literally dragged around by his dad and Picollo.
I think people gloss over his development in Super because his fights were boring af, and he didn’t even do anything till the last arc of the series. His Opponents (mainly Dyspo) are also underrated, so ppl don’t give him much credit.
Trunks got his love with the sword of hope against Zamasu hopefully the new Gohan movie does him justice and he gets a new form that has to do with his ultimate form that can compete with Goku and Vegetas and Trunks power up Gohan is a hybrid like you said him and trunks and goten should eventually surpass goku and vegeta that would be awesome
Everything that happened to gohan in super should have happened in the seven years after the cell saga. Everything the writers(akira and everyone) did was change gohan personality to make goku the strongest and now that goku, vegeta are much more powerfull than gohan, they will do what they should have done when gohan was a teen. Everything that happened after cell saga is so impossible and terrible writed.

The reason why some fans says that he is wasted is because in super he wasn't shown fight enough and in the broly movie not been shown at all, but overall in super he is the most developed character in my opinion

Of course he could barely go SSJ. He hadn't trained in ages and couldn't tap into his power. That's why after just a few days of training with Piccolo he was able to access his ultimate form, even though he wasn't going beyond ssj until Piccolo says, "This isn't your true power is it?". This is also shown by the fact that he was skinny and scrawny in his normal clothes and his tracksuit but ripped as fuck boi when he was in his gi. He was never weak, he had just become so comfortable and such a pacifist that he couldn't use his full power, but he never lost it.
Gohan always been my favorite. Win or lose im on his side. Goku pissed me off saving dende hercule and the dog when kid buu blew up earth. That was plot. Ultimate gohan ssj3 gotenks piccolo and the other buu involved would have made the arc alot shorter, kid buu smoked lol but i was curious about a serious ssj3 goku. Good hands
Nice video, but i think DBsuper is kind of the problem. They don´t care that much about cronology or previous statments of the series. Everyone in super is dumber than in the Z series, they commit some rookie mistakes and act like idiots for comic relief all the time. How could possibly gohan lost more power between Boo and Super (3 years) then from Cell to boo (7 years)? Even without training for half a decade he was still able to go Super Sayan 2 with little issue. Yeah, he was weak in boo at first, but he was still pretty matched up compared with vegeta and goku who trained a lot more. Yeah, my " i dislike super " is showing, but can´t avoid it. The only change i would make to gohan is during resurrection F. What they should have done is let him have super saiyan but barely have access to super saiyan 2
Misused and mis understood Hes not a fighter for fun but for others If u look at dragonball Z, the only time u see gohan REALLY turn up is when someone else is in danger and he comes to the rescue. Hes the most heroic of the bunch besides krillin and future trunks. I think it's fine hes a scholar, let him keep that, its sumn he does outside of just training all day, better yet let us SEE what his work is like, give us not only an arc that delves into gohans life, let's us see his work, his thoughts, and how he feels about his family(even thought bubbles), but also, let HIM train and mentor broly, the 2 are so alike it would be a crime if they DIDNT interact. Gohan could be the character to really level with broly and understand him deeper. I've always viewed gohan as the Megaman X/ Spider-man of dragonball Insane potential due to his love of protecting others. Spidey lifted up a SKYSCRAPER to save civilians and his aunt may b4 and megaman X took out his villain after seeing his best friend DIE to save him.

If you went through all that stuff, you would be scarred, and i know people are going to say somthing like " Well goku went through way more of that and he is still fighting " Maybe because hes a complete dumbass, second of all, all goku cares about is getting stronger, and hes a full blooded saiyan, They are literally a warrior race. I think most people are forgetting, GOHANS HALF HUMAN TOO, that means he will hame, Human emotions, Human feelings, Ect.
Plus gohans a father, he cant have himself getting beat half to death, and i know there will be more people saying " Well gohan should train so he doesnt get beat " If he could keep up with ssb goku, do you really think they will make him stronger? Its sad af because gohan is one of the best characters, but knowing dbs being on its bullshit, chances are we wont get a gohan with god ki, unless he gets it by sparring with goku or vegeta
I like gohan, but to think of what he could have been as a fighter is just disappointing. And to see him reach amazing levels with little training, like in the tournament of power. If he was really into training he definitely would be the go to guy, instead of waiting for goku and vegeta to show up.

I think they are doing the same thing with goten and trunks. In the buu saga they play around alot. But on 17's island they would learn not to play around and get more focus during the fight. Also they could grow up in the time they are of not in the manga/anime.

I can't speak for anyone else but my only real issue with Gohan is that I wish he could be allowed to learn a lesson and keep it learned. Think about it, when fighting Vell he learned the lesson of "Don't play with your food, just kill them" when fighting Buu he learned the lessons of "Don't slack off" and "Don't play with your food, just kill them" and when Frieza came back he learned the lesson "Don't slack off." Don't get me wrong, I don't want Gohan to give up on his academia and become just l ike Goku and Vegeta, I really like that there are more characters that are than just "I like to punch things" but I also wish that Gohans entire character between Frieza arcs couldn't be summed up as "This experience has changed me. I'm not going to give up on me dreams but I can't sit back and do nothing anymore. I can be both, I *WILL* be both. I won't be a burden anymore. I will fight, to protect my ooooh look a book!" I'm glad the Tournament of Power seemed to actually have Gohan retain his lesson from Frieza. Let's just hope it sticks this time.
The only reason why he learned it before is because the writters didn't want this to happened, they wanted to nerf gohan and they did it.

A lot of people miss the fact that Gohan scaled up to SSB post Goku Black Arc in a couple eps.
Dude strong I give em that, but until he actually stands out on his own, he'll continue to be apart of the "not Goku" crew. He needs a gi, new move that isn't the Kamehameha, and to make his own decisions instead being literally dragged around by his dad and Picollo.

I think people gloss over his development in Super because his fights were boring af, and he didn’t even do anything till the last arc of the series. His Opponents (mainly Dyspo) are also underrated, so ppl don’t give him much credit.

Everything that happened to gohan in super should have happened in the seven years after the cell saga. Everything the writers(akira and everyone) did was change gohan personality to make goku the strongest and now that goku, vegeta are much more powerfull than gohan, they will do what they should have done when gohan was a teen. Everything that happened after cell saga is so impossible and terrible writed.

Of course he could barely go SSJ. He hadn't trained in ages and couldn't tap into his power. That's why after just a few days of training with Piccolo he was able to access his ultimate form, even though he wasn't going beyond ssj until Piccolo says, "This isn't your true power is it?". This is also shown by the fact that he was skinny and scrawny in his normal clothes and his tracksuit but ripped as fuck boi when he was in his gi. He was never weak, he had just become so comfortable and such a pacifist that he couldn't use his full power, but he never lost it.

Gohan always been my favorite. Win or lose im on his side. Goku pissed me off saving dende hercule and the dog when kid buu blew up earth. That was plot. Ultimate gohan ssj3 gotenks piccolo and the other buu involved would have made the arc alot shorter, kid buu smoked lol but i was curious about a serious ssj3 goku. Good hands

Nice video, but i think DBsuper is kind of the problem. They don´t care that much about cronology or previous statments of the series. Everyone in super is dumber than in the Z series, they commit some rookie mistakes and act like idiots for comic relief all the time. How could possibly gohan lost more power between Boo and Super (3 years) then from Cell to boo (7 years)? Even without training for half a decade he was still able to go Super Sayan 2 with little issue. Yeah, he was weak in boo at first, but he was still pretty matched up compared with vegeta and goku who trained a lot more. Yeah, my " i dislike super " is showing, but can´t avoid it. Keep up with the good videos.

The only change i would make to gohan is during resurrection F. What they should have done is let him have super saiyan but barely have access to super saiyan 2
He already mastered Super Saiyan 1, that should be second nature. I would have let him keep 2, but lose Ultimate.

If u look at dragonball Z, the only time u see gohan REALLY turn up is when someone else is in danger and he comes to the rescue.

I think it's fine hes a scholar, let him keep that, its sumn he does outside of just training all day, better yet let us SEE what his work is like, give us not only an arc that delves into gohans life, let's us see his work, his thoughts, and how he feels about his family(even thought bubbles), but also, let HIM train and mentor broly, the 2 are so alike it would be a crime if they DIDNT interact.
