Link awakens from a deep sleep and a mysterious voice guides him to discover what has become of the ruined Kingdom of Hyrule.[3] Link meets an Old Man, who turns out to be the spirit of the deceased King of Hyrule. Link learns from King Rhoam that 100 years prior, a great evil known as the Calamity Ganon rose up and laid waste to the kingdom and its people.[4] Unable to be defeated, it was sealed within Hyrule Castle, while the ruins of the land were ravaged by nature over time. Although trapped, the Calamity Ganon has grown in power, and Link must defeat it before it breaks free once more and destroys the world.
After escaping the confines of the Great Plateau, Link is encouraged to meet the wise Sheikah elder Impa and learn about the Guardians and Divine Beasts: 10,000 years prior these machines were created and successfully used by another Hero and another Princess to defeat the Calamity Ganon. But throughout the ages, knowledge about the ancient technology was lost until excavations in Hyrule brought them to light once more, coinciding with the expected return of Calamity Ganon a hundred years ago. The Guardians were reactivated and four Champions were chosen to control the Divine Beasts: The Zora princess Mipha, the Goron warrior Daruk, the Gerudo chief Urbosa, and the Rito archer Revali. All the while, Zelda was unsuccessfully trying to gain access to her own prophesied powers, accompanied on her quests by her knight, the Hylian Champion Link. When the Calamity Ganon ultimately attacked, it devastated the Kingdom of Hyrule by taking control of the ancient machines and turning them against the Hyruleans. As a last resort, Zelda was able to place the gravely wounded Link in the Shrine of Resurrection and use her awoken sealing powers to trap herself with Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle.
As Link sets off on his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon, he is asked to investigate the fate of the Divine Beasts and their former Champions. His ultimate goal, however, remains to reach the Calamity Ganon and free the trapped Zelda before the whole world is laid to waste. But with the entire Kingdom of Hyrule before him to explore, it is up to Link himself to decide how he wishes to fulfill his foretold role as the Hylian Champion.
Gameplay
Climbing is a central new ability for Link, allowing for the exploration of the game's vast version of Hyrule
Open World
Breath of the Wild features a vast open world for Link to explore. Most of Hyrule's scenery is accessible by walking, paragliding or climbing. While the game still includes barriers (such as weather effects, inhospitable environments or strong enemies), many of these can be overcome by using Food, effective weapons and armor or finding alternate routes. The world also includes an elaborate physics system which allows for creative interactions (e.g., cutting down a tree and using its trunk as a raft on a river, or setting grass ablaze and spreading the fire with wind gusts).
Unlike many previous Zelda games, Breath of the Wild does not enforce a specific order in which quests or dungeons have to be solved, with the exception of completing the starting tasks on the Great Plateau. It is possible to challenge Ganon right after leaving the starting area, though the game does encourage exploration in order to solve Ancient Shrines (and thus gaining additional Hearts or Stamina), find useful and powerful equipment, and defeat the game's own version of dungeons, the Divine Beasts. It's funny, because that shrine he said that in is kinda just baby easy if you just book it and glide through from the start (cancelling glide at the right moments as well if you are too close to a laser). Never have gotten hit once in that area.
Imagine if some random horse sprinted by right before the final memory and just slapped his ass back to the plateau

Having done the full 100% completion of this game WITH taking damage, I can safely say this is the most impressive accomplishment I’ve ever seen

100% this game IN GENRAL is hard and takes a lot of time. I can’t even IMAGINE doing it without dying. My first time ever playing I walked right off the edge and died

rtgame did a no death run for botw and is doing one now for totk if anyone is interested
@@splayharmony2616 A zero-death run is peanuts compared to one with no damage. It's pretty easy to not die if you've played the game before, but no damage is downright brutal
I don't know whether to say congratulations for actually pulling this off, or my condolences for all the lost hours, stress, gray hairs, and years that were taken off your life in the process.

it's crazy that Specsnstats was almost the first one to do 100% damageless a year ago with only one shrine left and at 99.5% complete when he accidently unpaused the menu and got hit by a skelly... brutal.

Also, if anyone is interested, you can camp out directly on the Blood Moon shrine pedestal. Then you complete the quest automatically and don't have a limited amount of time to run to the correct spot.

Today I just beat illusory realm windblight. Revali’s gale with a 3 min cool down is so op!
I'm actually going to try the EX Champion's Ballad today when I get home. I dud the glitch where you flip a guardian husk and move it to tiles over and the ancient parts just poor out of it, so I've got like 500 ancient arrows, and about the same for every other kind of arrow(though "only" like 300 something bomb arrows.) I wasn't thinking about how buying all those ancient arrows would lower my number of regular arrows so much, but I just learned while watching this video about the lighting arrows on fire using that one pot in Gerudo to be able to get 3 or 5 arrows back for every 1 you fire, so that'll be my first move.
I've already done the master sword trials(though I didn't even attempt the third one, I just used the glitch where you flip through the walls.) On my first play through I tried the Champions Ballad DLC like 4 or 5 times, and ended up dying extremely fast, so I'm looking forward to going in with an actual strategy.
Does the game save at any point when your doing the four camps/shrines on the great plateau(like when you reach or complete a shrine), or do you have to do all four in a row without getting hit, with no save states?

I don't understand why he didn't just wear the thunder helm, because sometimes Farosh alone will snipe you
The attacks still do damage, thunder helm just makes you immune to lightning and lightning effects, not electric attacks completely
@@harrisonyoung3857 yes, but the thunder helm protects against farosh which, from personal experience, is incredibly useful. Additionally, hitting electric chu chu jelly only deals electric damage, so he wouldn't have taken damage there

As someone who recently completed their first playthrough of breath of the wild and finding the ganon fight really boring. THIS. This is something. I love how calm you sounded through this edit, normally a youtuber might add some loud screaming or some fake freak out during one of the two deaths. Frankly? I'm not one for asmr, but something about watching how calm you seemed during this? It was nice. I plan on doing my own Permadeath run soon, keep up the good work man. I propose a challenge if you ever manage it. Wooden weapons only, you can set your own rules with that :)

I honestly can't imagine doing this I spend 90 % of my time after doing divine beasts breaking rocks for gems and finding bugs 😂 I do have armor and do shrines and quests but I take it as it comes very slowly and with many and much death
Yees me to, haha. And with no fast travel, wouldn't want to miss a bug on the way. Wouldn't want to miss the way on the way! The vastness of this game is my favourite thing about it, I enjoy the nooks and crannies and mining and foraging and views as much as the quests and shrines and bosses
This is genuinely the most hardest challenge not only in BOTW but in the whole video game history. Kudos to you and hope you reach the goals you set

It's possible to skip all Trials of the Sword, by going out of bounds in the first room and immediatly going to the final room from there

Teeba is how I pronounced Teba. You probably pronounced it Teh-ba, but there aren't exactly rules about it... That said, Yunoboo is pretty funny
@@Nat_the_Chicken If you listen to the voice acting when they actually say the names, then there is an actual proper way to pronounce it.
Also for the new champions like Yonobo and Sidon, Age of Calamity has voice actors saying their names so it's confirmed through that how the new champion names are suppose to be pronounced.

Respect. I got bored in this game exactly after I left the tutorial zone and I got access to all that baren shell of a world. But thats impressive. You're pretty good.
Congrats bro, I'm impressed you are able to pull this off. I just wonder how far speedrunners will push this game and Tears of the Kingdom. Maybe some day, someone will do this again, but with stricter rules. What I would imagine is something where you are not allowed to load saves, except from the title screen, and you are not allowed to quit out of your file, except from the pause menu or from a unintended crash or softlock. Majora's Mask would also be banned due to trivializing risk from monsters. Amiibo and Intentionally using glitches to get an advantage would also be forbidden, so no bow flight glitch, moon jump, duping, wall-clipping, or transferring equipment properties. I did a no-death-run with these rules once, and it was stress inducing. If someone wanted to add to the insanity, they could also ban warping via the map screen to force creative routing and give more chances to mess up. Banning Daruk's protection seems a little bit too harsh, but if someone were up to it, they'd have an even more legendary run on their hands. Then again, I could totally see someone waiting out the recharge timer to avoid risk, so maybe this is necessary.
