Special thanks to my buddy Thorpe for his help as the "compliant subject". Thorpe was just getting over an unfortunate injury to his shoulder and he was a trooper through the many takes it took. Check him out on Instagram : instagram.com/that_one_jeep
I have been using these for a few months now and they have been working out great. The color options can be used for different purposes to help with classification if you are working as a team. Solid product, easy to store, easy to deploy, and the double lock feature can't be beat. Thanks for good content as always.
Hey partner appreciate the video. I will definitely look into these because the flex cuffs I currently use are to big and take up too much room. Stay safe brother.
Can either Tier Talk or FFT make a video on when it is better to use zipties over metal cuffs? I've done some thinking, and short of a riot or public disturbance where i don't care if someone gets away, I can't think up any reasons not to just use standard cuffs. Oh and big wristed folk as well.
Maybe if they are nasty and you don't want to deal with cleaning your cuffs. I think the main reason to use them is when you may have more subjects like you said. Another one is if you know you are going to turn them over to a different agency and don't want to worry about switching cuffs.
Zip cuffs are used for mass arrest situations. Metal cuffs are better in every way. The only reason zip cuffs are used for mass arrest is because they are light weight, compact, and cheap. Carrying many pairs of metal cuffs while remaining mobile away from a car is difficult.
Hey I bumped into your channel looking for tips since life is a constant learning process I work security ...doing it until I retire im only 35... anyway thanks for all the tips I'll get from your videos I take this career path seriously. I also know that if I wanted to be a cop I would have done that instead of becoming a Security Officer but security is a lot less stressful.
I do prefer metal, don’t get me wrong. And great question. But it would be good to have a couple of these on Standby for bigger inmates as well as for how quick these can be put on and tightened. But you’re 100% correct with metal being preferable.
plastic cuffs are impractical ... if you can get your hands in front of you and you happen to be wearing shoelaces on shoes instead of sandals you can slip the shoelace in between your hands and the plastic cuff ... hold the lace in your mouth thats anchored to your shoe and move your hands up and down up towards your mouth and down towards your foot and if you do it fast enough it saws through the plastic and melts it
Bro, this would be a better option to have than a bunch of big Safariland zip cuffs I got hanging off my 5.11 10-33 bag and my riot suppression fanny pack I never use outside of FTX and qual. And you get three for 'Undisclosed price in video or website. Man, that's a steal!
We get issued the safariland ones too. I. Working on changing that now. These aren't much more expensive and are far easier to carry around. So much so that people might actually have them when they are needed.
A lot of guys and gals are running out of excuses. Now, with the mass acceptance of LBE (outer-carriers or whatever) and gear getting lighter and more compact, there shouldn't be an issue as to why you don't have a TQ, extra-restraint, or any other necessities that are needed to do the job. When I was working with TRAP last summer tracking loads with false seals (The plastic thing on the shipping container) being used for drug trafficking, this particular commercial enforcement taskforce from a city department in the eastern part of the county had vests decked out with all kinds of stuff. One could argue that they brought the whole squad car with them. Now I'm not saying that you should walk around with pliers, traffic wands, and 3 NATO 30 rounders but a STAT TQ and this cobra cuff should be mangagible.
Neil Birchall they are disposable, one time use flex cuff. Our blue training cuffs are reusable and a softer plastic for multi use In interested Brian@Milspecplastics.com
What if its a bigger subject/suspect and you for example don't have your regular handcuffs? what do you do in that certain situation if you only have the zip tie cuffs
Unrelated to this video...I am wondering how you clean the powder burns off of the cylinder of your 360pd. I’ve had mine for about a month and can not get them off. Thanks! Love this vids!
How come when I get arrested they use 2 sets of handcuffs? Not two sets connected together, like they put one set on and then another set beside those. I've been arrested twice in different cities and both times they put 2 sets of handcuffs on me. At 6'1" and 265 lbs I might look intimidating, and I say that with a grain of salt because I'm definitely not in good shape other than round, but there's no way I could break a set of handcuffs, and I'm too slow to even think about trying to run off and too out of shape to think about trying to fight someone with all the toys a police officer carries. So why 2 sets of cuffs??
And unlike traditional cuffs that can be double locked and fit to the perpetrator .these can be put on to tight and course injury to the suspect are not rigid in any way allowing for play so the suspect can try and escape from them complete crap
Hey I was wondering, is it really that dangerous to hit a suspect over the head with a PR-24? Like can it cause death fairly easily or the whole doctrine of avoiding the head as a target came from a few incidents back in the day when they used to ‘’brain’’ people?
I've got a question for you good sir. How do departments support LEOs who train on their own? I know every department can be different. Do any departments give ammo or have ammo allowances for training in off time?
EngineerMK2004 email me.. we are the manufacturer of the Cobra Cuff and I have a list a mile long why they are better than the "other" brands Brian@milspecplastics.com
Not sure i like these, always thought disposable cuffs were a waste having to replace them. Then again, I work security and only and arrest around once a month so... :p
Handcuffs metal can be used often! That's how my wife ties me up! But do not loose key! Once that occurred and officer came to untie me! He laughed! I was in me underwear!
Question: Would you ever engage in the confiscation of legally owned weapons of American citizens in a martial law scenario that revokes the authority of the constitution? Would you do it because a job is a job? Or would you disobey dirrect orders at risk of loosing your job to protect and serve the people? What do you think the ratio is in any given PD that officers of the law would carry out an order in a time of crisis that goes against our constitutional rights? Forgive me if you've already answered this question in another video. Cheers.
Hello I'm the manufacturer of the product. 1000s of people dont waste money on these they invest in different ways and uses. Our company only sells to Law Enforcement and the Military. Some civilians have them for prepping or security operations.
Marco Romo Moreno if you can fit 2 fingers inside them you should be able to fit a knife blade in there. Obviously, thsts not ideal but sometimes you just gotta do what works. Also, scissors seems like something that should be fairly easy to keep in your vehicle and would undoubtedly be easily available at the station.
You can't pick the lock of cuffs if they're put on correctly. You can't even reach the key hole if they're put on right. It's pretty simple, put the cuffs on so the key holes are going up the arms.

Wait... request a quote? Why can't I just buy some? They're zip ties, not machine guns!
I think he means if you want to buy a whole metricshitton of them.

Great info and product
I love yer videos brother keep up the good work and be save out there
What is this nonsense no coffee mug at the beginning!??
Let’s get this in corrections
Do you think it is safer that COs carry zipcuffs over metal for safety, i,e, no ready made shanks in prisoner areas?
I do prefer metal, don’t get me wrong. And great question. But it would be good to have a couple of these on Standby for bigger inmates as well as for how quick these can be put on and tightened. But you’re 100% correct with metal being preferable.
I’m not looking to replace. I just wanted to add to the arsenal
Ok thanks
Nøderak anytime. Thank you

Great video brother
I’m having trouble fitting them into the MOLLE.

Real Police Talk any questions please feel free to contact me through email Brian.milspecplastics.com or Instagram b_tactical_law_enforcement
You can alseay reuse them. If you have something you can you use to pop the locks
Are they recyclable? do you have to have a policy for disposal?
Neil Birchall they are disposable, one time use flex cuff. Our blue training cuffs are reusable and a softer plastic for multi use
In interested Brian@Milspecplastics.com
Only problem they are one time use
All zip cuffs are single use. That is the idea.
These are pretty awesome
What if its a bigger subject/suspect and you for example don't have your regular handcuffs? what do you do in that certain situation if you only have the zip tie cuffs
At least I can get them custom pinkified.
Unrelated to this video...I am wondering how you clean the powder burns off of the cylinder of your 360pd. I’ve had mine for about a month and can not get them off. Thanks! Love this vids!
Hoppes and a brass brush. To be honest, I'm not really diligent about it.
I wonder how my wife would like these in the bedroom ;)?
Get real handcuffs and fuzzy cuffs and put the fuzzy part in the real cuffs! Or she will love to tie you up!
I remember when I joined my program the first question I got from my (at the time) gf was “so... you have handcuffs”
What's the difference with the training cuffs?
They don't lock. They are reusable for training.
How come when I get arrested they use 2 sets of handcuffs? Not two sets connected together, like they put one set on and then another set beside those. That's not how these work at all.
Not what's so ever! We have made these cuffs so you can't over tighten and it actually is way more comfortable than others as well as steel cuffs
Hey free field training have you tried the Leatherman raptor yet instead of using those huge medical shears
Nope, I get the shears for free so there hasn't really been an impious for me to buy something new.
How well do these work with the big guys and gals we have to use two sets on due to their girth?
They taught me in field training that the point of cuffs is to make them cry :D :D :D
That’s fucked
They taught you wrong then. The point of cuffs is control. You only need to make them cry if they are noncompliant.
10 bucks a pair holy shit ... and did cobra change to uzi brand ?
Are you allowed to use them on any criminal
your vids are awesome
Hey I was wondering, is it really that dangerous to hit a suspect over the head with a PR-24? Like can it cause death fairly easily or the whole doctrine of avoiding the head as a target came from a few incidents back in the day when they used to ‘’brain’’ people?
Hitting someone over the head with a baton is pretty dangerous.
I've got a question for you good sir. How do departments support LEOs who train on their own? I know every department can be different. Do any departments give ammo or have ammo allowances for training in off time?
My Pd will provide ammo for any classes I take on my own.
wow. thank you. do you get any ammo for practicing outside of classes?
If I'm shooting at the department range for open shoot then yes, pretty much as much as I want. If it is anywhere else then no.
Are all zip tie cuffs one use only?
Most are. Monadnock and KeyCUff make reusable zip cuffs; keycuff.com/
I was wondering, how do these compare to ASP trifold zip cuffs?
EngineerMK2004 email me.. we are the manufacturer of the Cobra Cuff and I have a list a mile long why they are better than the "other" brands

Your awesome
His awesome what?
Are these reusable?
Nice I'll be getting some Mr bald guy

(Security for now) *crosses fingers*
Handcuffs metal can be used often! That's how my wife ties me up! But do not loose key! Once that occurred and officer came to untie me! He laughed! I was in me underwear!
I'd like to get my name on that list.
Why would you buy something like this if you're going to just cut them when you're done with them
👍
I like coworker
Are you a cop
Couldn't someone break out of those pretty easily?
Aaron Stoner no sir our plastic Is infused with rubber and the breaking force is around 400 lbs area
B B Even the Hulk would have some second thoughts on breaking through that. It's incredible plastic can be that strong.
Aaron Stoner
Carbon-based body armor is right around the corner.
Scowler I wonder what it's multi-hit performance will be like?
lol "compliant" every cop wishes!
Well, zip cuffs don't work so hot on people who haven't given up. They are exponentially harder to fight onto people.

those are not breakable at all im glad im a good boy i wont feel those
jailbreak
Well this time I don't stand with it, because sometimes I'm not gonna be able to carry a seasors with me to cut 'em off..!
Marco Romo Moreno we carry cutters key chain attachment www.milspecplastics.com/product/cobra-cutter/
I carry the Leatherman Micra on my key ring. Its scissors are sturdy enough to handle most gauge zip cuffs.
Daniel H 1125 you're right body! Got the reason, thanks a lot!
B B thanks for comment sir! You're right!
Marco Romo Moreno if you can fit 2 fingers inside them you should be able to fit a knife blade in there. Obviously, thsts not ideal but sometimes you just gotta do what works. bad
Bad ass I know!
I hate zipcuffs i cant just pick the lock like i can with most of the normal ones
You can't pick the lock of cuffs if they're put on correctly. You can't even reach the key hole if they're put on right. It's pretty simple, put the cuffs on so the key holes are going up the arms.
Just use a shim like a normal person
We designed the cuffs where you can NOT pick or shim the lock at all. Officer safety
@@scottiusmaximus4298 right! Wife put them on correct and I could not escape! Was also attached to headboard!
