This afternoon, my 18v Makita impact driver tried to suicide itself by take a tumble down the roof onto 25mPa concrete, about 8meters of free fall. I tough i was due for a 40v upgrade as i watched it falling.... But it failed miserably at killing itself and still works perfectly fine!!!!
I guess the upgrade is going to have to wait and the 40v router will be mine next month!!!

Although not certain, I think the "IPx4" is mostly because the dust IP-rate isn't as relevant when you're already splash resistant to water.
As in if it can handle the water, it can handle some dust aswell?

That welder might actually be fairly handy here in the PNW of the US. We’ve got some weeds and weedy grass that takes over garden space very quickly, and this would be useful over stepping up to the Honda minitiller. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing about an AC adaptor for the sanders? If they come out with one I might be tempted to get it, otherwise I'm getting either a corded Flex(already have the 3mm stroke) or the Festool.
The CXT 5ah looks amazing! Have tried a google search and not much comes up. How the hell are they getting 5ah from 3 cells? Or is it a pouch cell pack? Definitely stoked for the upcoming review.
    Great stuff as usual.

I'll be curious to see comparisons of the new XGT 1/2" router and Milwaukee's M18 1/2 in router. Yeah, the XGT will probably be more powerful, but I'd guess that the Milwaukee is powerful enough for a router. I was thinking about buying the big milwaukee 1/2 in router, but I haven't had to do a job recently that I couldn't somehow get done with my smaller M18 trim router. I might wait to see if the XGT might be better. I personally care about the precision + adjustability and ergonomics more than power since I'm guessing both will be powerful-enough for what I'd use them for. While I like Makita's AWS, the actual dust collection port and dust shroud on that router doesn't look as good as the dust collection on Milwaukee's M18 routers, but I'll wait to see actual reviews before I make a final judgement.
    cheers from the USA.

I had the Makita 18v 1/4" router and was very disappointed with it. There was too much slop in the plunge rails. The plunge depth adjustment was terrible along with the micro adjust. The handles are not very ergonomic. The design of the DeWalt 1/4" cordless router is far superior.

All of those tools would be better off corded.
May as well be with the sander and that corded battery, just burning out expensive batteries for no reason.
If you're setting up to use a 1/2 router, you may as well take the 15 seconds to plug it in.
The lights, the same, I cant think of one time I would have needed them running on batteries.
    Just buy some extension leads.
It's rare you are on site at the 'Makita tools out stage' and don't have power, even at the foundation laying stages you will have generators and no use for little plastic tools.
