illumi isnt a hunter and they actually dont try much and if hisoka thought the Chimera were interesting he would have fought them since Hisoka loves strong fights even if it kills him and your arguement of Netero not fighting Hisoka doesnt even make sense as Netero isnt interested in entertaining some adrenaline junkie
Ok so I've tried looking at up even on reddit but everyone keep saying royal guards will diff hisoka and illumi. But i doubt with that. Here's my answer. I've watched the series long ago so i forgot many things. we haven't seen illumi, hisoka's full power yet. I only know that in the manga hisoka got a buff after the battle with chrollo. I'll exclude mereum here. He was literally a hax. Hisoka, illumi both are skilled. And their duo is actually quite nice. Later in the chimera ant arc when killua fought youpi surely he has no chance against youpi but he did dealt lil damage to youpi. And not even the top hunters was there. No matter how strong chimera ant are, human brain is definitely faster. There were people right in the dark continent who even lived there. back to illumi, hisoka vs the royal guards, I actually believe that illumi and hisoka does stands a chance against them. Not actual powerwise rather strategy wise. They're both clever. And if you include chrollo they definitely has the edge. Chrollo ain't no joke he did went toe to toe with killua's father and grandfather. With 3 of them can definitely stand against the royal guards. We still got more to discover in hxh. Wish togashi continued it:(. with the amount of tricks those 3 has. they do have the power to defeat the royal guards
Hisoka and Illumi, who can use their human brains well and apply their Nen abilities, would be able to win over royal guard's physical strength. Certainly, there may be more to Illumi's abilities that have yet to be drawn. Thanks for the detailed theory!
Actually as I write it became very simple... Nuke them. The entire arc finished by pretty much saying, "we have cheap nukes... you ants don't understand mankind's destructive ability". It would be very simple to just take control of people via Illumi and pack all of them with nukes... GG.
i think Hisoka when pushed to his limits he's high diff beating the guards, his combat ability and his obsession with strong fights should not be overlooked. Mans brought himself back to life, thats how strong his nen is
I don't see how. His bungee gum wouldn't even be capable of moving the Royal Guards because they are so strong, and any attack would barely scratch them. I mean, Pitou literally tanked a direct hit from Netero and not even her clothing got damaged.

Phisically speaking, Hisoka isn’t even on the level of Phinks and is miles behind someone like Uvogin or Razor, and raw power is extremely importan vs someone like a royal guard or else you won’t even scratch them, unless you have an ability precisely designed to take out stronger opponents like Knuckle’s Hakoware.
