I scrolled to see if anyone commented about this! It definitely doesn't mean "modern times" 😐... countries like the U.S. are more developed financially. Even in current times, there are still several countries that are extremely poor. It's okay to still learn this.. we all grow up so differently. Totally understand why Justin wanted to just move on in the convo haha

as someone from the uk who travels to Europe every year i can second what you've said about Mykonos. And it is down to people hyping it up on social media. I will say regards to the prices, bare in mind it is a very small island so all food has to be transported daily from other bigger islands to the restaurants in Mykonos so that's one of the reasons why the prices are high

As a Greek I can tell you, there are SO many places to visit in and around Greece (mainland and islands). Mykonos, Santorini, now even Naxos- have always been known as just tourist traps. So many better places to go!

@@juliamrtn4837 Sure! And tho I said Naxos is touristy, it's not 'Mykonos' touristy so I still recommend going. Others- Zakynthos, Paros, Kefalonia, Rhodes, Crete, Xios, Sifnos, Skiathos, Lesvos, Kerkyra (AKA Corfu)
I got sad when Kristin said, 'I've done Greece' because, she's barely touched it!

I’m from Chicago and I grew up in a Greek and Italian neighborhood. So I grew with up with an “adopted Yia Yia”. And they’ve got a pretty large Greek population. Check it out for the Greek food. ❤

I dated a guy that was super hot and successful . on paper, he checked all of the boxes. All of my friends and family loved him immediately. He was a couple years younger than me and I felt like he was a little bit more of an extrovert than I was. He had a large friend group that had to approve of me, of course. And he posted a little too much on social media for my liking. I felt like he shared a lot of our private moments. But the biggest dealbreaker was when he got in a public fight with me on New Year’s Eve in front of his friends. To me, there’s no turning back from that. I think it’s so disgusting and disrespectful.

6 nights in Mykonos???!!! That's insanely way too long 😂. 2/3 nights max. 6 nights is torture. If you're going to spend 6 nights on any Greek island, Crete is the only one to do this. Best beaches, people, and food.

Yes - when we went to Mykonos there was a guy yelling at his girlfriend at like 3-4am, and it was sooooo bad!!! Why does this happen in Greece, the land where it’s so magical!

I missed my flight in Denver to Iceland and I was kicked out I was told to check in again he’s right it sucked I was so freaking scared there was no food no drinks not even a water machine or anything I had to wait for 12 hours!

I have slept in an airport. Was moving to the UK and my flight out of LAX turned around an hour in as it was leaking hydraulic fluid. As it was the last plane out my next flight was in the morning so I decided I would just stay in the airport. I was alone and didn’t want to go to a hotel in downtown LA. Everything is shut. All the restaurants have deliveries being restocked but shutters down. No food. It was cold. I tried to sleep across a few chairs but the cleaning crew vacuumed around me. It’s also very noisy. A flight of passengers walked through the airport in the middle of the night to connect. I was the first customer in the restaurant for breakfast as I was so hungry. I got a $30 voucher for food. I would do it again but know I always pack snacks and would anticipate no sleep.
I’d always fancied going to Mykanos as well.
Just got back from 10 days in Kos (another Greek island). Had a great time there. Flight was delayed both ways about 1.5 hours (to London). Could be worse but annoying with a 4 year old in tow.
Interested to know what Justin and Scoot thought of London?

August is the worst time to visit Greece. Hot, crowded and they raise the prices
The extremes are not for me, the dieting and no drinking at all at home and going really hard on vacation. I’d rather eat and drink moderately at home and on vacation.

Agree with you BUT as someone who's witnessed DV by way of friends, coworkers, strangers...Alicia would have just gone back for more. No one knows her situation. When she is strong enough to leave, she will. Hopefully this couple doesn't have children. Also, at a hotel in a foreign country..what do you think the outcome would have been? The authorities would come, the guy would act nice and say it's a misunderstanding blah blah blah and then Alicia would get it again behind closed doors. Me on the other hand, after a single horrible/violent outburst from my man, I would be done because I know that sh*t is not love. Years ago my boyfriend and I witnessed a man hitting his girlfriend in the parking lot. My boyfriend intervened. The man AND the girlfriend starting hitting my boyfriend. It was wild. Same story with a coworker of mine, we all tried to help her get away from a physically abusive boyfriend, provided resources, money, professional help, etc... and she just kept going back and finally stopped talking to everyone and left the job. I have several other stories very similar. I have even approached a young girl shopping with her much much older husband and he was was screaming at the top of his lungs at her how she's worthless, stupid, terrible wife etc..I asked her if she needed help (when she was away from him) and she told me to mind my business.
I had the worst flying experience on United from check-in to landing. They are the worst.

Didnt rate Santorini compared to other Greek islands. Too expensive too overhyped but loved the chill vibes of Zakynthos!

The airlines have to put you up and get meal vouchers. They will have to reimburse you for being bumped to coach. Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg posted about that a few weeks ago. If United doesn't take care of this. Send an email to Sec. Buttigieg's office. They will assist.
