man, the sound of the ball being struck from Rublev's forehand is just incredible. Love this guy's game. Hope he stays at this level for a while yet! He's fun to watch, even when he's getting frustrated with his play :P

One think about Rublev, all the power seemed to be generated JUST from his fast arm. He is not using his whole body. Its very obvious when he is stretched and not in position when hitting, his shots are significantly slower

I’m 56 and just got back into tennis after 25 yrs. I must have been killing it against the wall the other night, as a couple of young gun slingers on the next court invited me to hit with them. I couldn’t believe how hard they hit….and how hard it was to react to their pace, let alone get a decent racket on the ball.
Watching these two hit at this angle blows my mind. Gives me a whole new appreciation for the game and it’s athletes.
As a side note: My young friends eased up after watching the comedic spectacle of me chasing down a drop shot, tripping over my feet and skidding face first into the net! It’s hell getting old!!

Rublev does something very unique with his torso during his stroke where he tenses the muscles and relaxes them fast as if he's spasming his torso to generate more power. I tried it hitting against the wall where you almost stop your forehand midway almost and it works you almost tense and stop and let that momentum carry your racquet forward. He is super relaxed and then turns on 1000 volts for a split second near contact. Its weird but he is doing something that really adds power here.
