Gotta say, Drew, the pace of this video is spot on. I watch a lot of Vlog Discgolf channels, and i think your pacing/editing is what people should aim for. Well done sir.
His thumb and finger slapping together as he releases the disc sounds like Rory McIlroy hitting an eight iron. It just goes kapow shhhhhhhh like bacon sizzling. Just very impressive.
Digging your , and Simon and Uli's, Vlogmas so far. This one hit home. About to turn 56 and last few years I've been going to a local park a few times a week to workout, stretch, walk, and throw a few dozen drives or so. I've found I know exactly what the distance is either direction in a particular field and I've been stuck around 380-420 for awhile with anything over 400 being the rare push. I kinda know my limitations after playing 33 years and I'm happy with my current distance but this made me realize something that I think is gonna get me another 40-50 ft , maybe. So thanks :)
@@cjbousson2759 A mental thing. I realized I've been aiming, and thus throwing, at a certain height level because I assume my disc is going to land within my mental limitation.
9:40 to the end is a quick reminder why you are pro and world class, and I am well, just world class. 😂 Fantastic video Drew! A lot of fun! OH, and thanks for using the while discs!... against a dark background it's the simple things like that make a big difference in the viewability and enjoyability of a video. Thanks!!
These kind of videos are always jaw dropping. Honesty, I have been practicing to get a consistent throw around 375' and just seeing people bomb anywhere close to 500' is crazy to me and over 600' is just insane. Cool video, I like seeing the practice videos; drives, putts, up-shots all good stuff Drew.
I remember watching you when you were a kid doing this after tournaments in grass valley. Love watching you rip them keep up the work hope for the best season yet outta you.
Really loved the Simon, Paul, Drew videos! You guys played off each other really well and I've seen more of your videos in my feed since watching those
I've never thrown the Misselen, but I bag a Rakaten, which I believe is more understable. I got mine used so it's quite beat in, but I was surprised how flippy it is. Not like crazy flippy or anything, I really like the flight I can get a really nice flex curve from it, the max I've thrown mine is around 380ish, which I was actually quite surprised since the aerodynamic dimples make it fly faster but less glide. It's right up there with my farthest throws.
Don't get too excited about those discs with 15+ speed ratings. Lat64 speed ratings are inflated. The Raketen for example, they call 15 speed, yet it's rim width is 2.4cm which is actually a millimeter smaller than the Boss. The Misselin is 2.5cm which is the same rim width as the Boss. The Boss is actually overall 2 millimeters shorter too so overall the Boss is more aerodynamic, but really they're all the same class of disc. Lat64 just makes up silly speed ratings that aren't consistent with other brands.
@spoonraker NERD ⚠️!!!! ⚠️ ALERT I'm not excited about the disc. I'm excited to watch Drew throw it. And why not? It's different. You mention the nerd specs but nothing about the golf ball grooves in the plastic that is designed to ✂️ through the air. Besides, it gives Drew some possible new content for Discmas.
@@udtpup23 I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see Drew bomb some unique discs like the Misselin, I'm just saying if you expect them to add distance you'll be disappointed. The 15 speed rating is pure marketing, the rim isn't any different from a Boss in terms of its aerodynamics. The textured surface does reduce drag, but hardly enough to make a big difference. The difference between Drew's good and bad throws would be way bigger than the difference between 2 good throws where 1 was a Boss and 1 was a Misselin. Quest actually created a dimpled disc way back in 2006 called the Raging Inferno DT, and it didn't catch on because it was gimmicky and provided no real benefit.
There are so many beautifyl throwing forms on tour, but as far as pure efficiency of output I think Drew is #1 in the world. He is not a large man, doesn't look like he is exerting max effort (even when he is), and just gets the disc moving with incredible speed using virtually perfect mechanics. I think every disc golfer can get better by watching him throw a disc in slow motion.
Keep it up man! Have you considered throwing slightly slower (but still fast discs) to try to save the arm next season - kinda like how Simon did after coming back from his injury?
I'm throwing farther, with more accuracy and more ease since I started watching your videos Drew. Thanks for giving back! I wish you success and good health in the new year. Keep on kicking ass! Looking forward to see what Hugh Frisbin is upto as well 😂
thats what surprised me when i saw ball golf in person. i thought the drive noise was enhanced, or it was peaking the mic. but thats just actually how loud it is in real life
Only 6 seconds into the damn video and just gotta say listening to your throws is amazing. The amount of snap on your shots is awesome. How about a new series.. Taking Average Joe from 350-500! Hey I just so happen to throw 350.. choose me! lol keep up the good work 👌
Mr Frisbin has cracked the RUclips code! Daily gems and mentioning the words GLITCH and SIMON in every vid! Good stuff for real, thanks for the content Hugh!
Bro...I would love to throw 450 to 500ft misses! You make it look so smooth and effortless. I was doing field work this week and threw a 400ft hyzer shot for the first time. Usually to hit 400ft I would have to throw a turnover flex like you were doing with your Boss, but when I threw my Wraith on a 400ft flat to hyzer all the way...best feeling.
600 ft is just so far. I can't imagine having that power and then the control to not overthrow on "shorter" holes using disc choice + dialing down the arm speed, etc.
So I had a friend buy me. Zeus and Hades, and I only threw a three step forehand 111m..? Can throw forehand farther than a soccer field, is the line the biggest part of throwing 400+ ?
Drew - Can you do a vid on Arm Speed vs Nose Angle vs Lunch Angle. I'm curious if someone like you with 65mph arm speed throws with different nose angles changes shot shapes for different golf lines. Also, would be interesting if you throw slower but with great nose angle control if normal people like the majority of us disc golfers can get 400' with slower arm speed. Thanks for great content!!
Hey drew I keep getting a nasty blister on my middle finger from throwing super hard.. it keeps splitting open and hurts pretty bad.. is this something you’ve delt with before?
nose up is in relation to the flight path of the disc, not the ground. So you can throw high and have it still be a proper nose angle because you're aiming high. You're not aiming level with the ground and having the disc go high. if that makes sense.
