After saving the Wild Wild Woods from a giant mechanical logging beetle in the previous Dungeons & Dragons Oxventure, this new episode finds Corazon the Pirate, Dob the Half-Orc Bard, Merilwen the Elf Druid, Prudence the Tiefling Warlock, and Egbert the Dragonborn Paladin babysitting an adorable scholar through a treacherous tomb.

All the great things Dob does & yet I can't forget the fact that he lost a fight to a potion stall.
Well, console yourself with the knowledge that - after six campaigns now - an evil version of Dob is the only thing to actually down a character.

@@joshuahadams Oh he did indeed. In fact, my own headcanon is that that pirate was *named* Julian the pirate. It's still startling though that Dob - the being that lost to a potion cart at basically his first action *ever* - is also the only being in six campaigns to actually KO one of the crew. Even if it was an evil version of him.

I know you're making a joke, but they talk in character so he was talking about Prudence.
He said someone tried that once and it didn't go well so might even be a reference to the film
DOB is an acronym meaning “Date of Birth”. A popular saying to express that someone is foolish or gullible is that that they were “born yesterday.” Your expression “Don’t be a Dob.” means “Don’t take actions without thinking through the consequences.” Another way to express that is “Don’t act like you were born yesterday.”
So basically you made a completely functional and multilayered turn of phrase purely by accident.

Honestly I think it will just turn out like a spot of bother where the super hard boss fight is no longer hard because of something they unknowingly did.

I feel like Dob should be allowed that one mistake since Merilwen didn't get hurt and literally just the game before he did most of the work in taking out the pirates, and in this one he saved Merilwen and Prudence from falling into a pit trap

07Raziel07 eldritch blast was mentioned, she just didn't use it. It was in the first room of the crypt, someone suggests that she use it on the second stone skeleton before they think to use the axe.

To be fair the first few rooms weren't very blastable. This has so far seemed to be primarily a "traps and puzzles" dungeon, not a "random encounters" dungeon.

The look on Johnnys face when corazon said they shouldn't talk to the adventurers wanted guy was brilliant. I understand that look, that s the desperation that comes when players don't do the one thing necessary for the story, they could burn the messenger and a DM could still do more with the story than ignoring him.

Fun fact, pirates tended to wear eye patches to train dark vision. The eye under the patch would be permanently adjusted to the dark, they'd just move the patch to the other eye when entering a dark place.

When Johnny finally does D&D with EuroGamer i only hope its also set in the kingdom of Geth (partly because connected universes are all the rage but mostly because it can be called the Chiodiniverse which works not only as a nod to how much excellent work Johnny puts into the campaigns but as a reference to the Diniverse the name of the Batman Animated Series universe)

As soon as coraźon started talking about a picnic I knew it was all going to go terribly, horribly wrong.
Thanks for the awesome video! I love how everything Johnny does, the Oxventure Crew just sorts of throw everything into chaos. First Quest - They immediately find out that the rat was the boy and finished the quest with barely a fight and tons of gold from both the crypt and the reward. Second Quest - Successfully managed to lure pirates into a trap and kill all of them flawlessly, then a whale rams the ship which turns a potentially difficult boss fight into one where they feed the captain to a whale. Third Quest - Managed to free a goat and a bear using a picklocking cat and defeat all goblins without difficulty, which goes the same for the boss which took a bomb to its mouth, thunderwave to its legs, and barely even scratched the crew. Fourth Quest - So far the managed to evade a trap filled room with barely a scratch and they somehow sneakily changed the npc from a smart and intellectual archaeologist to a cute and bumbling baby strapped to Dob’s(?) chest.
Poor Johnny, none of his plans seems to last long when exposed to the Oxventure Crew, but Yay for us for getting to watch a hilarious Dungeons and Dragons game. Cheers to you all!
i like how Dob is just like the mother of Alfred and Corazon is the dad, Prudence and Egbert are like the siblings who bully him and Merilwen is just the family cat

I like the fact that everyone's having such a good time, yet they've not found so much as a potion of healing and after 3 adventures are still level 1.
Nicholas Cross to be fair these are quick one shot adventures. They take like 1.5-2 hours each. Most regular D&D campaigns take considerably longer
Whoever edited this one is a horrible troll! Cliff hangers... grrrrr. I would watch this as a far more regular series, by the way, and I don't think I'm alone in that. Great work and I can't wait to see part 2!

I can only assume that the dislikes on this video are because it simply is not long enough. Excellent audio too, which can be a real challenge in a big room with a crowd.

Pretty sure Dob got two bits while they were building up the powers of the artifact, cause both missing sister and "disease you may have had for a long time when it doesn't really make sense" since he said in his backstory that his sister went missing when she went to find medicine for him after he got rabies...meaning he never got the medicine. So Dob actually has rabies.
I can't get the image of Dob running down the corridor, papoose a-bouncing with kitty Merilwen and not-kitty Prudence scooped under his arms out of my head...is that a good thing?

I started watching these to learn more about D&D, and now I'm just interested in the characters and the story.
Honestly, OxBox has done the impossible by making D&D watchable; it’s not a bad game but it’s far more fun to play than watch.
