- I am producing this video series with my co-instructor, Myla Sunshine, who is a beautiful girl who has low tone and Down syndrome. She lives 250 miles from my house. Her parents were nice enough to allow me, a perfect stranger, to come in and share their daughter with the world. Thank you, again. My name is Amy Sturkey. I am a pediatric physical therapist from the United States. I hope to follow Myla as she develops. I hope to teach ideas to help her learn to move, crawl, sit and walk. I started this video series after questions came in from all over the world from people seeking assistance in helping children with low tone. The ideas I teach in this video are not appropriate for a much weaker child than the one featured in this video. I hope you find this idea useful and simple. My website is www.pediatricPTexercises.com My Facebook page is Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises. I have applications in iTunes and Google for Pediatric Physical Therapy Strengthening. However, these applications target children 3 years of age or older. My informational book, "A is for Autism", "C is for Cerebral Palsy", and "D is for Down Syndrome" are available on Amazon. Do not hesitate to contact me at amysturkey@gmail.com with questions, concerns or favorable reviews!
You are amazing 👏🏿
Wow! Thank you. Feel free to comment anytime! Lol!
Thanx Amy for letting me know that going via you tube is a better option than through Facebook
I can view them without audio or video problem
Looking forward for each of your uploads🙏
meenu lelani I am so glad this is helpful for you!
Hello ma'am..my son is 20 months old and is having low tone..he is trying to walk with support now for 20 steps...but he has intoeing problem...is this normal? Or he need any treatment for this ..how much time generally it takes to walk.. please help.. thank you
In toeing is relatively common for children 18 months to three years of age and 95% of the cases in toeing resolves on its own with growth and natural outward rotation of the lower leg by five years of age
Thanks, doctor, for such videos and for helping us.. My son is one year and eleven month. He is cerebral palsy. Could stand for 5-10 secunds without support and has special shoes on his feet while he is standing.. But he couldn't stand up by himself. I would like to ask to your if he will be able to walk in six months.
And what would you say about a speech of such children.. mine doesn't say any words
Unfortunately without personally evaluating your child I have no idea of your child's strengths, weaknesses, and current rate of progress. I cannot answer your question. If your child does not talk, I recommend pediatric speech and language therapy. I don't know your child but sign language, pictures to choose from, the gotalknow app are all options you should consider.
Hi Amy, my baby girl is 15 months and she is not walking. She crawls very well, walks on knee, climbs sofa and stand with support. If I hold her hand and make her walk she uses her toe. She is doing this from past 1 month. Is it normal?? How long will she take to walk? Please reply.
Without personally evaluating your child it is impossible for me to answer your questions. It is considered clinically significant if a child is not walking by 18-23 months. I recommend you find a local pediatric physical therapist who may help you.
@roopa hi..is your child doing better now. My child has the same issues.. she's 17 months old now.did u sort to any therapy or treatment.kindly let me know.

Is it okay for a child 3-5 years old use their UE to help stand up from the floor?
Dienane Gregoire I am afraid that I do not understand the question. A 3 to 5-year-old should be able to get up from the floor without using their arms.
Hii madam my baby have 14 months but she not crwel and walking but I will sit to baby then baby sitting but no standing.i will going to hospital doctor sad u can go for physiotherapy for baby plz for standing and walking
I think your doctor is correct. It would be best for you to find a local pediatric physical therapist to help you. It is possible that my crawling playlist may help you:

Mam vedios for exercise not shown clearly. Because translation shows in screen
One solution is to watch the video on a bigger screen. The other solution is to turn off the closed captions in the bottom right corner of the video screen by clicking the cc.
Hello from Romania, my name is Adina and i have a baby 2 yers and 1 month whit low tone.. what years do you thing she will be abel to talk to woak?? Pls i need an anser... tnk you very much four yor video..
She crowls verry well, she cand stand up four 10-15 sec.. she dosent have balance.we do kino from 8 months old.. she dosent have brain problems
I am very sorry. But every child walks at a different age. Without personally evaluating your child I am unable to predict when your child might walk. I do know that the more you practice walking the more your child will be close to being able to walk. I hope that you have a local physical therapist who may be able to guide you in your treatment. Since they would be a familiar with your child, maybe they could predict walking age. Myla walked at 3
@@pediatricPTexercises tnk,we have Physical terapy from the age 8 month.. but i m verry sad she is not walkin.. i wach you all the time special with Mayla.. hope for the best.... tnk for anser🤗🤗🤗
I am sending your child the sweetest thoughts and the best wishes. Keep walking her everywhere with help as tolerated and recommended by your local PT. She has to change her mind set to being a walker as opposed to a crawler.
@@pediatricPTexercises tnk you verry much.... best whises🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
