As for Oneus... They were crying because they got their first win... And they were super emotional some of the members can't even sing... So it's not a surprise that their voice sounds a bit like they're forcing themselves to sing 😭💕 It was such an emotional moment

You should try with classics like Taeyeon, Baekhyun, BTOB, MAMAMOO, DAY6 AND SEVENTEEN etc. Off the top of my head the vocal legends sorta stuff you've covered quite a bit of ground with Ailee, Wendy in this video

The thing with most of 4th gen kpop now is that, everything is so focused on the choreography now that singing is just optional. Not to mention the companies wanting to keep the images of idols as this "perfect" phenomenon that the idols can't do anything but lip sync. The cyber bullying is ever present as well, so idols are scared to sing live too. Encore is supposed to be a fun little performance with fans after an idol's win. Now, we get to hear idols live so little that we depend on encore stages to hear them sing atleast. As a result encore stages are doomed for perfection and lip syncing too now, with companies competing against each other so hard

If you want singers who only sings, there are already many Kpop singers. IU, BOL4, Yerin Baek, Lee Hi, Park Hyo Shin and so on. Very famous singers :3

Also so weird that they label her as a k-pop idol when she's an artist but anywaaayys, she sound magical. Also, bad example when she's singing while dancing when she don't really do that, like not trained like an idol.
Yay! If talking about live, you can check ASTRO's Jinjin and Rocky's stage performances of Just Breath...amazing energy and live vocals! You can compare it to their singing live in dance practice where no microphone needed. 😁
The dance practice is even better because they sing completely live and they sound super stable despite the difficult choreo

I’ve gotten so used to hearing live vocals from Exo, that it’s hard for me to enjoy a good bit of groups in this generation because the lack there of. Ateez, Oneus, P1Harmony, and Pixy are the only groups that I can really listen to and enjoy in this generation of kpop.
@Dawon Lee I haven’t really listened to Treasure since I Love You, but I’ll give them another listen.
Straykids too.. They are actually known for their strong rap line but when you hear their bsides you will understand. They all are really good vocalists too. I recommend I'll be your man performance of skz which they performed in kingdom if you are a fan of vocals more than raps. or neverending love story which is an ost. These are only my suggestions but there are lot more
Justin, this is my favorite types of reactions from you! Please do more. There are those groups that aren’t that great but there were some singers in this video that did some incredible runs in their live performances. Another thing I’d like to add, is there are groups that are 99% perfect. It’s that way because of all of the work and practice they’ve put into their skills. Also people should remember that sound system and monitors can totally sabotage a performance. Obviously that’s not gonna all the time. If they are skilled singers, there’s gonna be performance videos showing their live vocals.

my take on this issue is that some fans claim their idols singing live while they actually aren't. there shouldnt be any fanwars regarding this bc we know its impossible to single stable while dancing unless they stay still. but autotune hmm i dont like when they do that. i just want they sing live if possible bc nowadays it seems impossible to see more grp singing live than back in those older kpop generations
We can't talk high note without ateez, LIKE REALLY.
I don't know if i'm old but still i haven't heard a vacalist from 4th generation that shocked me or made me emotional or something like that... I'm not saying that there's no good vocalists but they don't sound special or unique to me... for example when i started to know kpop and i first heard voices like Chen, onew, jonghyun, Baekhyun, yesung, ryeowook, kyungsoo, taeyang, 2am's changmin, eunkwang, sungjae, taeyeon, IU, eunji... i felt they're special each one of them got style in his voice, they know what they're doing... i feel now they focus more on the instrumentals of the song, the choreography, the looks.. I'm not a hater but they need to stop making kpop being a business instead of music.

I really like xiaojun from wayv /nct (technically a chinese group tho, since wayv is his main), his emotions even before debut are insane :) (for example his singing in nct u - my everything). But I agree for the most part, the ones you listed are REALLY REALLY good D:

I hope you don't get me wrong I'm talking in general i didn't mean that there's not good vocalists nowadays of course there is, but comparing to older groups it's rare to find 2 or 3 great vocalists in the same group.. and because I'm a fan of Ballad songs, so good techniques and high notes and stuffs like that really matter to me haha...

What i hate about this video is, that the OneUs performance is a actual encore stage and they didn't even try to sing right....... what a shame to put that in the Video.
And in my opinion it's that Kpop stans are just into Visuals and Choreo that they don't even care about Vocals.

The fact that 4th gen kpop is using more of electronic sound in place of actual vocals is kind of disappointing. Even tho it sounds so better to ears when we usually listen listen 4th gen kpop but if we pay attention then sometimes I think "it's a musical mess" coz there are too much melodies and beat drops and key changes sometimes like in case of Aespa, Lalisa, even Red Velvets recent Feel My Rythm whereas if we see Psycho of RV the vocals were on another level and it didn't sound like computerized music.
Idols should be less pressurized regarding this issue and I can imagine that they might not get enough time to practice vocals coz the new gen choreos are GOAT level and it takes so much time to practice those picture prfct choreos.
Kpop has shifted to intense choreography so electronic sound has to be there to match with the choreo. every group that was on top 10 Worldwide Fan's Choice in MAMA 2021 does intense choreo. Mamamoo that didn't do choreo in 2021 comeback were not even in top 20.

I wish could understand that these people or artist or k-idols are super tired getting little sleeps everyday, doing so much promotions and singing all the time so their vocal quality will differ but it does not mean it will be bad it just mean it can be perfect in the first day but tomorrow it degrades in some areas then it could be perfect again and so on. So that small help from auto tune helps I am not saying they only use auto tune when they're tired but i am saying is the percentage of pitch correction and lip sync will be increase depending on the artist condition to sing flawlessly that how it is in kpop most of the time. remember it was revealed that artist/management can pick how much they lip sync or how auto tuned it will be but i believe they said it up to 70% but 70% is rare.

Another thing I would keep in mind is that with new songs, when kpop groups or individuals are doing promotions, they're so busy and exhausted and singing somewhere almost every day, in addition to rehearsals. Nobody can have a perfect voice under that much pressure and exhaustion.
People are selectively cruel with TWICE.
So many groups with lower pitched songs mess up their encores but no one cares
When twice messes 1 of 100+ encodes that too with a song pitched higher than mount Everest,the encore goes viral for months and years with immense hate trains

Love your reactions so much!! So many people act like groups lip sync all the time when they don’t. There are many situations where they’re at a show or in a situation like some meet & greets where they have to lip sync and it’s awkward AF cause they’re used to singing live (BAP, GOT7, BTS, MONSTAX, StrayKids, TXT, BTOB, SHINee etc). And some people just enjoy being salty cause they’re not their faves😂

I would say stray kids, purple kiss, mamamoo, ateez don't lipsync even in music shows. They do use backtracks, which are used by everyone in music shows. I don't know much about ateez and purple kiss(cause their music is not my type) but i've seen videos of mamamoo and stray kids singing live.
