The goal is to drive more security to the Broward Mall and others. Ms. Doe's bravery to speak out is also fueled by her focus on protecting anyone on the autism spectrum from sexual assaults. Ms. Doe is on the autism spectrum.
According to the Autism Research Institute "autistic adults report a higher prevalence of sexual harassment and abuse than the neurotypical population (Gibbs et al., 2021). A 2022 investigation into violence experienced by autistic adults found that 75.4% of participants reported sexual harassment, and almost 60% reported experiences of sexual violence compared to 56.4% and 28.2% reported by non-autistic participants"
