its great watching an old school style mechanic pulling things apart to a sub component level to try to fix something before buying the whole assembly. 99% of mechanics would not have bothered.
EXCELLENT DIAGNOSE....I AM SURE THAT U COULD FIND A SIMMILAR SWITCH....JUST NEEDS RESEARCH WHITCH TRANSLATES TO TIME WASTED IN THAT SITUATION.....KEEP IT UP.....
Excellent repair. What annoys me about this type of job is, like you said, you cannot find a replacement switch anywhere. But someone, somewhere must make them and probably has a shelf in their warehouse with hundreds of them sitting there gathering dust.
Absolutely true. The fact is that most times they're not made available. For the simple reason very few would go this far to repair it, making it commercially senseless. Or in the case of parts with larger rotation simply to protect the "business". I recall a odd case of a rear wheel bearing, if memory serves for Peugeot 306 and notice there's several other examples. You can buy the entire hub pretty much anywhere. But you cannot find just the loose bearing in the market. Some manufacturers have it in catalog, with the remark. "Not available to public"! It's called proprietary design. ;-) Cheers
Hi again Luis, I have w168 98' A160 petrol engine and sometimes when I start the car the BAS/ESP light comes on and the engine is vibrating a lot (I think it is working on 3 cylinders) and the car can't go faster than 10 km/h. The same problem appears when I am driving too so it is pretty dangerous because the car immediately slows down. When I restart the engine 3-4 times this light disappears and the engine is working just fine. Any help will be much appreciated.
Nice job buddy, love your perseverance & repair before replace attitude. Just one thing: You need to lose the screen protector on your meter, would make it a lot easier to read.
Fatih Emre - I wouldn't do that without some trial. There's a reason why it's there in the first place and not located as you suggest. With so many versions and small variations, it's hard to say. A good diagram and some fiddling and you might be into something, or opening a can of worms altogether. LOL :-) The logical portion of these circuits can be quite fiddly regarding what they expect from sensors and switches. Remember these are "safety" areas and Mercedes don't tend to "play around" in these area. Most probably this switch as a redundant function along with the one in the pedal. The brake switch on these A Class already provide additional information to ABS/ESP/BAS and I bet a few more letters that I forgot. LOL It's more than the classic ON/OFF for the brake light. Particularly on auto or semi auto gearbox, I would be very weary to do it. ;-) My 2 cents. Cheers
Hello when i check the normaly closed when i donnt push on the brake OL in multimeter When i push i have value in multimeter But normaly open its always OL what i need to do?
Hi Louis, great video as always, but with all respect may I have few comments: 1. Messing around with all the car fluids on your driveway is not a good thing, so please use some cardboard or similar wherever those could get spilled before authorities come after you 😉; 2. Another environmental point is you jumpstarting/charging the cars from your van or idling-you and your family are breathing exhausts-please use dedicated charger; and 3. I still hope to be able to support you while buying my own ms908p with your referral code - please provide. And as a suggestion to ease your work - there are tools out there that help trasing wires/finding breakage - consider using one 😜. Good luck and keep on rollin'!
Hi I do use containers etc... in this case was a very small slippage... which was easy contain and clean with some paper towel... If you follow my channel, you will see that in the mean time I bought a battery charger/maintainer... I can't just buy everything I would like to have... 😋 If you also follow my channel, you can also see that I do have a power probe, to trace open or short circuits without dismantling so much stuff... Now, my videos, are to help people that want to do their own repairs etc... those fancy tools are not affordable or feasable to everyone to buy them... so I try to do them in a way that most people can using only some basic tools... If that makes sense... I do however, really appreciate you comment and that you watch my videos! Thanks! 👍👍👍👍
Another nice video! From where you get these diagrams on paper? It will be great if you put a link or the name of the program you using to get these diagrams in future! :) Keep it rolling! :)
I got problems with BAS and ESP light alarm on At fist for days only when I press the breaker then All the time on from the moment of car switch on Can you help me out please
SONER ERDOĞAN I’m planing to have one A140 soon, how do you feel about your car? People said it’s a piece of expensive junk. But my friend has not any major problem since he bought it.
Jose Rudi Schnorr - First and most important check the brake pads for wear. If worn out replace them and recheck for error. If clear you're done, so enjoy. If persistent error: Brake light switch on the brake pedal assembly. It's located inside the car, on the top of the brake pedal lever. Quarter turn & pull out, replace. 2 minute job. Get original from Mercedes, it's not a very expensive part. Cheers
I love the way you repair rather than replace.

I have an idea. Is it possible to connect BAS A7/7s1 cable numbers (NO:1,NC:2, common:5) TO brake pedal light switch inside cabin?

Scan the car and go from there...
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs scan already done
It gives C1202 code errors
Which car model are we talking about?
That error is for the hydraulic pressure sensor of the braking system...
@@LMAutoRepairs C class 180
1999
You should have two pressure sensors on the master cylinder... that is what that code points to...
Well done, once again!
