That would explain why the rabbid mech is shaped like that, it would be easier to just port over the animations and code from rayman 3's stomping arena fight.
this is definitely not from rayman 3, the movement may be similar, but it is def pretty different to control and play, also, this is a completely different engine than the one rayman 3 was made in
It keeps getting better! I love how this continues the trend of temporarily hijacking an enemy vehicle (Pirate ship in R2, Hoodstomper legs and Armaguiddon in R3), but in larger scale. I do prefer the design of the other Rabbid ship (1:44), but being able to control the bipod is awesome as well.
@@MaeDaGoof The level where we have to destroy the robot from the inside maybe concerns the smaller mecha with one eye ? The entrance is similar to their models
Who would have thought that the goofball bunnies that don't even know how to close the bathroom door were capable of creating such technologically advanced war machines like this.
guessing this might've been for a boss fight or something? would be cool to pilot this while fighting one of those huge mecha rabbids with the tiny arms
This is so cool. Neat to see them do the whole rideable bipod thing again, wonder how it would've been presented compared to Rayman 3. I really need to figure out that editor sometime lmao, great vid!
Incredible, I never imagine we can ride that thing, I love this music, thank you for showing this, thanks for show us more things of this, continue the good work
I know this is just a restoration project, but it would be super cool to see a full finished product utilizing the prototype assets along with custom made stuff from the community, because from what it looks like with the worlds, they just seem pretty barren for the most part.
I wonder what you would've been doing with this? It looks like it has a pretty nice animation system too. It's a shame this robot was barely used in the final game.
That is from the pheonix interactive version of Rayman 4, which was scrapped before this version started development. I think the dance costumes are a remnant of those
The Prototype is really cool, and it is interesting to see what was planned, but there are some questions that I have. Was this game only going to have a few level themes, or was there planned way more (like a desert themed world or something)? And where is the classic platforming? Everything I saw so far was just fighting Rabbids and riding animals. I know it was a prototype, but it makes me worry, that this game was going to miss that. I love Rayman 2 for its classic platforming, and It would be sad to see, nothing was planned for that.
This seems to me to be at least the first world, or a sandbox of form to test their features. I wouldn't worry if I were you, because from several interviews conducted with the team, they said they had to change pretty early in development to the mini-games we used to know for Rayman Ravid Rabbits. They probably didn't even started yet on other worlds since.
@@rayman1900 Well actually, this version of the game was being developed from January to July of 2006 according to what was found in the files of this and the final game. And since the final game released in November, that means that the party game took about 4 months to make while reusing some assets, and R4 was being worked on for 7 months.
@@MaeDaGoof I knew party games were always the go to for shovel ware but I didn't know that it took that little time to transition to the mini game collection.
@Mae Da Goof According to "The story of Rayman", a book explaining developments and behind the scenes of all the games, the development of Rayman 4 just didn't had the proper tech to make the Rayman 4 ambitions on the hardware of the Wii, and Nintendo wanted them to still release the game on the Wii launch day, so they had to make massive concessions to have the game release on time and that's probably why it took 4 months, as they probably reused a lot of what they already did on this build to make the rabbids game on wii.
it is a special mode for the robot i found in the editor, you were definitely meant to ride it, but they probably have not had a proper way to enter it and ride it yet, you can enter one of these in another level and destroy it from the inside though

This looks a lot more technological here than in the final game where they're all wooden and vintage. Looks really cool in both styles.

that explains why there is an entrance on top of his head and why the town is so minimalist!
I imagine that we had to crush an army of rabbids !
i guess so, though in one of them you are supposed to enter and destroy it, so you probably would be able to ride some of them
