- With a prime location in downtown Chicago and a historic building, this property should have a lot going for it. But I wasn't terribly impressed with some of the design choices and maintenance in the room I was given. Overall... this one gets a "Meh" from me.

That wall lamp should've been by the bed., and that closet should probably have been open. Allthough then there is the whole safe thing, but I guess the safe could be on the night stand.
I like the room myself.Its warm,dry,and comfortable.It has a nice shower and tv.I really don’t think they need the bench there for a chair would have worked just as well.But all in all I would have been happy to stay there.
Totally agree, Jacob. I'd only stay here if I had the points or a super cheap rate was found.

Cute room! I would love to stay there! I stayed at a hotel in the early 2000's in NYC and the room was a little smaller than that and not near as nice. It had a very small window that looked onto a light shaft but the bathroom was really nice with an all tile shower! That was the smallest hotel room I had ever stayed in and I have to tell you I was shocked when I walked in the room the first time! I agree that the furniture placement in the room you are staying is a little weird. They should get rid of the bench and move the fixture with with the mini fridge over to where the bench is.
Jacob when you moved the curtain you covered the 3 other outlets + 2 usb on the desk. :)

With the seat and fridge set up, because I've been learning to feel for my surroundings in the dark, I probably would have minimal trouble walking around them.
I hope you come out with another Amtrak trip report, now that Amtrak got rid of the dinning car it will be exciting to see how the trip goes just eating bagged sammiches from the cafe car cross country lol. Those are the ones I look forward to :)

I don't see the purpose of the bench in such a small room. I would have eliminated it and moved the mini fridge cabinet there. The TV woudl be a good thing to mount on the wall where the mini fridge is so you could sit in bed and watch TV. Not sure how the plumbing works but there maybe have been a way to put a more standard tank toilet in the bathroom for a more home like feel and like you said a different sink / vanity and / or mirror
My favorite hotel! Every time I stay downtown that's my hotel of choice!
Most are rat nests! Even the maids told us, they are ordered to not change the sheets linens, to just shake them out. 😣😣😤😤

But what i notice is that you get a microwave and a minifridge in your hotelroom, which i never seen here in europe
The toilet is supposed to mimic the original fixtures used in the 30s. Sink while modern mimics 30s simplicity. Bench was a mistake. This place looks great for a budget hotel
I like the small homey comfortable spaces......they work for me.....
The bar of soap is supposed to be your shower gel.

Am I the only one that cringes at towel racks over the toilet? I always envision a towel or face cloth slipping off the rack & landing right in the bowl. Ew.
